Genshin Impact : Eerie Teyvat
Chapter 596: Arriving in Natlan
They always say misfortune doesn’t strike the same place three times—yet the “Nahida” who had already fallen under the eerie force had already used three different methods to stop Su Yuan and the others from leaving Sumeru: Dehya, the Aranara, and the Wanderer…
Now, as the group drew closer to the border between Sumeru and Natlan, everyone felt that the Eerie “Nahida” was likely already running out of ways to interfere.
She probably wouldn’t be able to send anyone else or use any more tricks to stop them.
Finally, towards dusk, after they climbed over a tall sand dune, a broad, blue river came into view.
Across the river stretched towering canyons and rugged mountain cliffs, covered in intricate, colorful graffiti-like markings.
That’s right—once they crossed this river, they would arrive in Natlan.
“Once we cross this river, we’ll be in Natlan territory!” Kirara said excitedly.
“After crossing, we’ll be within the lands of the Children of Echo!”
“Then tonight, we might even be able to stay with their tribe!”
“Children of Echo?” Everyone shared puzzled looks.
Their knowledge of Natlan was still extremely limited.
Ahem. Kirara cleared her throat and, with the air of a proud guide who just took Paimon’s job, began explaining…
After listening to Kirara’s description, everyone gained a general understanding of what kind of tribe the Children of Echo were.
But when Su Yuan heard Kirara’s explanation of the Saurians, he was genuinely stunned.
Everyone called Natlan the Land of Dragons.
But Su Yuan never expected—the “dragons” here weren’t like Dvalin nor like Zhongli’s original form.
They were—dinosaurs.
Well… at this point, Su Yuan had already accepted that nothing in Teyvat was truly surprising anymore.
“So, should we start thinking about how to get across the river?” Paimon asked.
“It’s no problem for me since I don’t need to walk—I can just float across!”
“Since this place is rarely visited by people, there’s no pier or crossing here,” Kirara explained.
“But I did hide a small wooden raft not far from here. It can only carry one person at a time, but if we make several trips, everyone can get across!”
However, when they reached the spot…
There were only splinters and scraps of wood.
No raft.
“Uhh… well, that didn’t work.” Kirara looked embarrassed.
“Not sure if it got washed away in a flood or wrecked by a sandstorm… but the raft is gone…”
“No helping it. I guess I’ll just have to overcome my fear of water and swim with everyone…”
“If only Su Yuan still had access to Anemo…” Paimon sighed.
“He could’ve just flown everyone across…”
“…Should we go ask the Wanderer for help? He can fly…”
But the moment she said it, Paimon shook her head hard.
“Nope nope nope! I am not dealing with that guy again!”
“At this point, there’s nothing else we can do. We’ll just swim across,” Su Yuan said.
Everyone stretched a bit, preparing for the crossing.
Kirara, nervous but determined, pumped herself up:
“I’m not just a fragile little kitty anymore—I’m a great yokai cat!! A mere river is nothing to stop me!!!”
“Go for it, Kirara!!!”
Everyone cheered.
In the end, they managed to cross safely, without any major danger.
They had officially stepped onto Natlan’s soil.
And at the moment Su Yuan’s foot touched the land of Natlan— He felt something shift within his body.
But what exactly changed… he couldn’t yet tell.
But regardless of everything that happened, they had finally crossed out of Sumeru and set foot on Natlan’s soil!
Next, they simply needed to find the Kingdom of the Night God, and figure out a way to revive the informational hint hidden in Su Yuan’s left palm!
Following Kirara, the group continued onward.
Before long, they saw signs of life nestled within the canyon—many buildings, many people…
“This should be the Children of Echo’s settlement!” Kirara said, stepping forward first.
“I’ve delivered packages here a few times, so some of them should recognize me!”
“Having delivery services sure is convenient…” Su Yuan couldn’t help but sigh.
“I heard people in Natlan rarely leave their homeland, so if there weren’t couriers, it’d be hard for them to enjoy food or goods from other regions.”
“So in the world you originally came from, you also had something like delivery services?” Paimon asked.
“Of course we did. Not just couriers—we had food delivery too. Whatever you wanted to eat, they’d bring it right to your door,” Su Yuan replied.
“Food delivery…? Bringing food to you?” Paimon thought for a moment, then suddenly froze, her expression twisting in pain.
“Wait—I remember now. That’s just like the delivery orders from Good Hunter in Mondstadt or Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue…”
“To be honest… that brings back some bad memories…”
“When Traveler and I delivered those orders, the customers had WAY too many demands!”
“No gliding allowed… No running… No touching any elemental reactions…”
“It was—IT WAS PURE TORTURE!!!”
“Paimon, stop. Now I’m remembering it too. I feel sick,” Aether groaned, covering his face.
Su Yuan couldn’t help but laugh.
Wasn’t that the nightmare delivery event from early Genshin launch?
So they really did live through that…
Before long, Kirara returned—and beside her was a small, tan-skinned girl with coffee-brown long hair, tall upright pika-like ears, a streak of colored paint across her nose, and blue ignition-mark tattoos etched across her body.
“Everyone, this is Kachina,” Kirara said with a warm smile.
“We’ll be staying at her house tonight.”
