"I cannot remain in control for long; you have to make your move and use the power of the fragment to control the evil spirit inside me. Otherwise, I might truly lose control."

The voice of the Primordial Stone dragon rang in Apollo’s mind.

He sighed in relief, knowing he was still under control, but his expression grew grave as he realised he couldn’t hold it much longer and had to act; otherwise, he might die at the hands of the out-of-control Primordial Stone Dragon.

Apollo didn’t wait anymore, although he wasn’t sure; the power of Black Chaos Sea seemed to have minimal effect on him and his mind for some reason and, in fact, was a great chance for him.

If he can devour the terrifying evil spirit’s little bit of its power, he should be able to reach the peak of the third-order transcendent realm and even possibly reach the half-step supreme level. He might even be able to push his newly evolved eternal Sword rule to the peak of the fourth layer.

At that time, his strength increases exponentially so that it might reach the level of sixth-order supreme, becoming one of the terrifying beings of the cosmos in any given era.

Boom!

He made his move and activated the fragment of the Black Chaos sea with all his might and instantly started to devour the Black Chaos sea’s distorted power to weaken the evil spirit within the Primordial Stone Dragon.

Roar!

The Primordial Stone Dragon roared, shaking the entire island; even the surrounding region outside seemed to tremble from the terrifying dragon roar. It seemed to roar like it was fighting to the death at that moment.

In fact, that was exactly what was happening right now within him as he was facing the evil spirit who seemed to become agitated as it felt its power being devoured.

It wanted to stop it, but the Primordial Stone Dragon wouldn’t let that happen; only when it was weakened would he have a chance. So, a very dangerous battle was going on within the Primordial Stone Dragon’s body.

Apollo outside wasn’t feeling as well this time; the power from the Primordial Stone Dragon was many times stronger, as he had devoured most of the fragments’ power for hundreds of thousands of years or even more.

"Aaah!"

Apollo couldn’t help but cry out in pain.

The sheer amount of chaotic power surging into his body was becoming too much.

Although he had remained mostly unaffected by the Black Chaos Sea’s corruption until now, too much of anything could become dangerous.

The same was true for him. The Black Chaos Sea’s power began tearing through his body and mind.

His flesh trembled. His soul shook. Every inch of his being seemed to be ravaged by chaotic energy. Yet Apollo continued absorbing it.

Although immense pain coursed through his body, he didn’t slow down.

He had already come this far. He would not stop now.

Apollo was swallowed by the massive power of the Black Chaos Sea; his body started to bleed as his muscles and bones tore apart. But even then, he didn’t slow down, and steadily his aura once again started to climb.

His foundation and understanding of the rules were more than enough, and even though he had just broken through, he could still continue to improve without damaging his foundation. ℴ

His eyes turned chaotic black as the terrifying power raged within, but his aura rose rapidly as well, and within half an hour his realm improved, reaching the middle stage of the third order transcendent.

Although it appeared to be a very small improvement, this small improvement usually needs thousands or tens of thousands of years. But he achieved that in just half an hour; it just shows how terrifying its power is.

While he was improving, the life-and-death battle was ongoing within the Primordial Stone dragon’s mind. And it seemed that the Primordial Stone dragon’s soul was in worse condition, but that situation was slowly changing as Apollo was devouring the Black Chaos Sea’s power rapidly.

"No... that cannot be happening!"

The evil spirit, which seemed to have gained full sentience, suddenly screamed in a horrifying, soul-tearing voice.

The sound was so terrifying that it could instantly destroy the mind of an ordinary Transcendent, and even a Supreme would have difficulty enduring it.

It could see what was happening outside, but it was unable to stop this, as the Primordial Stone Dragon was stopping it.

Even as its own soul weakened further, the Primordial Stone Dragon continued burning its remaining soul power to strengthen itself, desperately preventing the evil spirit from breaking free.

"No..." It roared and fought desperately, but the Primordial Stone Dragon was too tenacious as a primordial being, and it could not win in a small time.

Apollo, outside at that, started to see different images as his mind seemed to fill with different memories, or, to be exact, the legacy of the Primordial Stone Dragon.

Those images turned into movies as he seemed to see the beginning of the cosmos and the birth of the Primordial Stone Dragon and even many primordial beings who, from birth, have terrifying Supreme power.

How they created different worlds, stars and many races and destroyed or even ate everything in their path. He essentially saw the life of the Primordial Stone Dragon and felt and understood it, understanding the rules of the cosmos.

It was too long, as he seemed to be lost in it, but because of these images and memories, his understanding of various rules, unknowingly to him, started to increase at a terrifying rate along with his cultivation.

The fastest improvement came from a rule Apollo had never seriously attempted to comprehend before.

The Rule of Earth.

It was one of the primary rules mastered by the Primordial Stone Dragon, along with another far less understood rule—the Rule of Immobilisation.

The combination of Earth and immobilisation was what gave the Primordial Stone Dragon its terrifying defence and overwhelming strength.

Its body had become as stable as the very earth of the cosmos, while the power of immobilisation made it incredibly difficult for anything to move or shake it.

Even a sovereign would struggle to break through its defence.
