Chapter 172: Chapter 147: Controlling the Thundercloud, First External Gene, Purple Gold Thundercloud Wing

"Once it shrinks enough for you to absorb it into your Genetic Melting Furnace, you’ll be able to refine it."

"That works?" Ji Zhixing’s eyes immediately lit up at her words. Although the method was simple, it truly hadn’t occurred to him before. He had only been thinking about how to take this entire thundercloud away with him, never considering that he could deplete its power first and absorb it once it grew smaller.

"Of course." Xiao Mingyue looked at him with a smile. "Now, you can go wherever you want and strike whatever you wish with the lightning from this thundercloud."

"We don’t seem too far from the Twisted Forest," Ji Zhixing said, a thought suddenly crossing his mind. He remembered the Twisted Forest that he and Xiao Mingyue had tried to enter twice, only to fail to reach its depths both times. The trees in that forest were incredibly difficult to deal with; no matter how many they destroyed, an equal number would just grow back. There was simply no end to them. But what if he controlled this thundercloud and moved it over there, unleashing the lightning power contained within it upon the Twisted Forest?

"That forest?" Xiao Mingyue recalled it upon hearing Ji Zhixing’s suggestion. She nodded. "That works. I also think unleashing the lightning on that forest is a great idea. We might even be able to obtain another treasure from it."

"Alright, I’ll direct the thundercloud over there right now," Ji Zhixing said. With a shift of his thoughts, the thundercloud slowly began to move, drifting in the direction of the Twisted Forest.

"I’ve consumed too much of my Genetic Source Power. I’m going to head down to recover for a bit, and I’ll explain the situation to Qingqian and the others while I’m at it. I’ll come back up to join you later," Xiao Mingyue informed Ji Zhixing upon seeing the thundercloud begin to move.

"Okay, go ahead," Ji Zhixing nodded. He knew that with Xiao Mingyue’s Tier Three strength, she couldn’t stay in the air indefinitely. Moreover, she had just been hovering within the thundercloud while carrying him, which must have been a massive drain on her energy.

Xiao Mingyue then flapped her Flame Wings and flew downwards.

"Ming Yue, what’s going on?" Jiang Qingqian asked impatiently the moment she saw Xiao Mingyue land.

"Zhixing has temporarily taken control of this thundercloud. Next, we plan to head over to the Twisted Forest treasure site and try using this thundercloud to deal with it. How about it? Do you guys want to come along?" Xiao Mingyue explained.

"Ji Zhixing is controlling this thundercloud?" Xu Cheng and Jiang Qingqian were dumbfounded; this situation was entirely beyond their comprehension.

"I’m going!"

"I’m definitely going!" Xu Cheng answered immediately, taking a deep breath. He absolutely had to witness a spectacle like this.

"Alright, let’s head over together then." Xiao Mingyue nodded. The three of them set off, following the thundercloud as it moved forward.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Within the Twisted Forest treasure site, Cao Zhenxing, Gongye Zhou, and Yu Mengdie were engaged in a frantic battle against the gnarled trees. Various energy fluctuations clashed violently, producing an endless stream of explosive sounds that caused the entire forest to tremble. All three were top-tier students from their respective universities. Working together, they were on the verge of breaking into the core area of the Twisted Forest.

"They’re so strong!"

"I wonder if the three of them teaming up will be enough to enter the core of this treasure site and claim the treasure inside this time."

Outside the Twisted Forest, seven or eight students from the three universities were gathered together. Watching from afar as the trio utilized their various techniques to push deeper into the forest, they couldn’t help but marvel at their formidable strength.

RUMBLE!

Right at that moment, an ink-black cloud suddenly drifted over from the distance. Lightning flickered within the cloud cover, emitting a low, rumbling roar.

"What is that?"

"Is that the moving Thunder Pool treasure site? Why is it flying this way?"
