Genetic Ascension

Chapter 2129: Someone Else

Chapter 2129: Someone Else

Sylas had hardly appeared in the air above Castle Main when someone pounced into his arms. Cassarae hugged him so tightly that had he not progressed, he would have felt his insides smashed to smithereens.

"I missed you." she said.

Sylas raised an eyebrow. It hadn't even been that long by his standards. He found that he was returning home more frequently than before, and he actually quite liked it like this.

He hugged his wife back, giving her a pat on the back. But then he started to feel her nose sniffing about.

"You really couldn't last a couple of days?" Cassarae pulled back with a raised eyebrow.

"Whatever you think I did, that's not what happened." Sylas said with a shake of his head.

"Oh?" Cassarae rolled her eyes. "What do I think happened, then?"

"We have important things to discuss," Sylas said, picking her up and hauling her over his shoulder.

Cassarae squealed a bit. "What do you think you're doing?"

Sylas didn't reply, touching down from the skies and walking into City Lord Mansion.

"Where is everyone?" Sylas asked.

"They're away on another expedition to the ocean. The change gave them a bit more confidence."

"The change?"

"Did you forget that you raised the bloodline again already?"

Sylas nodded. He just wanted to make sure she wasn't referring to anything else. He didn't want to make assumptions about his family, because those kinds of things could very easily go wrong.

"Then what's the problem?" Cassarae asked, fighting her way down to stand on her own feet.

"We need to ascend to the Demi-God Plane. But I haven't figured out exactly how to do that yet, and I will need to prepare everyone. The time limit we're working with is six months at most, but ideally we will ascend within two."

Cassarae frowned. "Why?"

She could feel it as a City Lord. In fact, she had received a little countdown for when Earth would officially ascend.

And that timer was on the orders of centuries, but Sylas was talking about months. They should receive quite some time to prepare while Earth slowly elevated itself.

The situation was similar to what it had been when Earth was completing its Summoning, just more involved. As difficult as it was for a world to integrate into the wider universe, elevating to a new Plane took even more time.

Cassarae couldn't fathom the amount of resources it would take to force a change. And even if Sylas was really that rich, would they be ready?

She believed in Elara because the little girl only had to focus on protecting herself. How would they protect an entire planet?

"I've done some research and the process of elevating is broken into two parts. The first is to prime the world itself, and the second is to prepare a location on the higher plane.

"Right about now, our place is being primed. The Demi-God Plane is rearranging itself and making room for a new world. The closer we get to the time, the more obvious the changes above will be, until everyone knows where the new world will appear.

"Many will ignore it, but those who are losing aspects of their territory will definitely react violently."

Cassarae nodded. She had guessed as much.

"To speed up the process will require a two-pronged approach. First, we will need Elara."

Sylas bet that the way Rhykan used to speed up The Sanctum was by pulling favors on the Demi-God Plane. Somehow, Rhykan got Demi-Gods to follow his orders, so it wasn't that much of a leap to say that he had used those connections.

But what exactly did that mean?

It wasn't a matter of resources, at least not entirely. If Sylas was correct, Rhykan had gotten his people to "make room" for The Sanctum.

That had sped up the process considerably.

Rhykan probably didn't have to do much on the Mortal Realm side because the existence of the Mancer Scape had been leaking Demi-God Aura into The Sanctum for centuries already. It was as primed as any world could be to progress to the next plane.

Once room was made for it on the Demi-God Plane, it was like killing two birds with a single stone. Not only would it speed things up and take the Angels off their game, but it would also mean that Rhykan would not only know exactly where The Sanctum would appear, but he would even have control over the region.

It would be like Earth all over again. Rhykan would have monopoly control over a world undergoing what was basically a second round of Summoning.

It felt like Rhykan was two steps ahead again. But this time, Sylas had caught onto his shadow before he could make it very far.

Every advantage Rhykan had was entirely based on his starting point. But every day, Sylas closed that gap, and he did so with a ferocity that Rhykan couldn't keep up with. Otherwise, why would Rhykan choose to go to the Demi-God Plane to make sure everything went smoothly?

However, Sylas now had his own person on the Demi-God Plane. And for once, he was going to rely on someone else.

"Are you… sure?" Cassarae asked.

"She can do it." Sylas said, his gaze blazing with something new.

Sylas' understanding of Demi-Gods had shifted after he saw the hidden world on Earth. Not all of them were A-tier Race monsters. There was something more substantial to Demi-Gods that went beyond just their Race tier. It was possible to have Demi-Gods that were of far lower tiers… Demi-Gods of B-tier, C-tier, maybe even D-tier or lower Races.

That meant one thing.

When the Grimblades ascended, they wouldn't be bottom feeders scraping to get by again.

They weren't just a Demi-God Race, they were an A-tier Demi-God Race.

All they lacked was foundation and powerhouses to match it. But Sylas believed that Elara would be able to carve out a place for them.

That just left his job.

"We aren't just going to elevate Earth, we're going to elevate the entire Milky Way."

Cassarae frowned, and then her pupils constricted.

The Milky Way wasn't just the galaxy anymore.

Sylas had originally thought of just raising the entire galaxy, but that wasn't enough. They would just end up in someone else's Sector.

No. They needed to take the entire Sector with them.

And he had a feeling the changing laws were going to help them with that.

The mystery of why the name of the Sector and Horizon had changed was slowly becoming clearer to Sylas.
