Chapter 2124: True Fool [Bonus]

[Bonus thanks to Rikstingray <3]

If Sylas cared enough, he might have thanked One. What the point of the latter's monologue was, he didn't know. But if before Sylas felt like fighting B-tiers was his limit, he was almost itching to fight an A-tier right now.

Unfortunately…

Sylas looked into the skies to find that there were no A-tiers coming. It seemed that the improvement to Fanelei's strength wasn't small. He didn't even sense a single A-tier even looking in his direction, let alone being in position to attack him.

Maybe this should have made him happy, but Sylas was actually quite upset right now. He had been in a good mood before, but now all he could think about was how much strength he was missing out on.

He hadn't even made a breakthrough just now. All of this strength had been in him from the very beginning. If he had known how to use it—and he could have reasonably had this amount of power the moment he became a Cryst Emperor—then how many things could have been so much easier at that point?

Granted, he hadn't had any particularly striking losses that could have been remedied with more strength in recent memory, but the sort of rolling momentum this could have given him wasn't small. Maybe he could have already been in the Demi-God Realm by now.

If he grasped his Chaotic Space Aether to the same level, then would his power be even greater?

After some calculation, Sylas shook his head. His power would have a tick up, but the reason for the qualitative change had already been taken up by his Glassvolt Aether. At that point, it would be similar to changing a car's oil rather than overhauling the engine.

It would be helpful, but not to this extent.

Regardless, he was still unhappy, and he really only had one person to take it out on since no A-tiers were coming.

His grip on One's hair tightened. The latter was still struggling somewhat, but with a thought, he was encased in emerald glass he couldn't break out of even with all of his strength.

It was so thick and hardened he could hardly move, and as it sapped at his pitiful Will, he had even less fight to give.

Sylas sensed One trying to force a breakthrough into the B-tier to save some face, but he found the attempt to be ridiculous.

Sylas sensed something similar coming from Two and Three, but he didn't even look up. With him here, they wouldn't be able to communicate with the system properly even if they wanted to. The moment a Reaper's Will pressed down, everything was severed.

Reaching forward, Sylas ripped one peacock feather off of One's back and the man screamed bloody murder. His expression couldn't be seen well through the char, but it was definitely a grotesque sight to behold between the cracks leaking blood and the snot and tears falling.

Sylas looked at the charred mess, realizing it was quite heavily embedded into One's body.

"Who told you about The Sanctum's Mancy Scape?" Sylas asked calmly.

While Sylas had figured out that The Sanctum couldn't have been targeted by the Thryskai by coincidence, and that the Mancy Scape was the perfect place to find a melding of Will and Intelligence, that didn't explain everything.

The Mancy Scape had founded The Sanctum. Logically speaking, there was probably a time where it was only known by the people of The Sanctum themselves. Otherwise, if it was so important, why wouldn't the Thryskai have taken it for themselves?

And that, there, was the other problem. Even if the Thryskai found out about it, how could the Seeing Eye Guild likewise find out about it, and then go as far as to risk setting up a base in a completely separate Heaven just to claim it for themselves?

Of course, if the reward was as ridiculous as Sylas expected it to be, then there was no doubt that the risk was worth it. But the fact it was worth it and the method through which they found out were two different things.

One didn't seem to have an answer to his question, though. There was nothing but an endless blathering coming out of his mouth, some of which were unintelligible words, and the other half of which was saliva and blood.

'Oh.'

Sylas blinked. It wasn't often he got embarrassed. In fact, he didn't remember the last time he had experienced such an emotion. But right now, it was hard not to be.

He hadn't realized that One wasn't acting like a fool because he was actually that pathetic. That bolt of lightning had ripped the idiot's Will to pieces. He really was little more than a blubbering fool right now.

Sylas shook his head and then his wrist shook.

BANG.

One's head exploded into a rain of gore that somehow didn't even touch his clothing in the slightest. Standing to his feet, Sylas looked to Two and Three.

"I will give you each one chance to answer my question. Otherwise, you will end up like he did."

They both stiffened at once. They had both been trying to find a way to break through ever since the battle tides turned, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't seem to communicate with the system. It was like it had gone dark.

Just what sort of ability was this?

Even now, they just couldn't believe that One was dead. The man had lorded over them their entire lives, a constant shadow that suppressed them around every corner.

And yet… he had died like a pitiful worm in Sylas' hands.

Rhykan had once said that there were only three people he truly respected…

One had never been on that list. Rhykan didn't even know his name.

"I… I…" Three's words came out in a mumble of jubilation, shock, and horror. For a moment, Sylas wondered if he had accidentally fried his brains too. But then he continued.

"The Angels… The Angels…"

BANG.

A golden pillar descended from above, vanishing in an instant.

In its place, none of Three was left.
