Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1847: Outgrow

Chapter 1847: Outgrow

The Lost City of Gold Points Toward the Sea.

The Mountains of Giza Point Toward the Stars.

It was the start of a puzzle that Sylas had solved long ago. By solving it, he had been able to use Nosphaleen as a proxy to manipulate the currents of Earth's oceans, ultimately allowing him to make it to the bottom of the ocean, where he was ultimately granted the Great Ape Lineage.

This was something that hadn't happened all that long ago, all things considered. But it felt like a lifetime ago by this point. How long ago had it been since he stood in that observatory and realigned the currents of Earth?

But there was an obvious elephant in the room, one that existed by virtue of the fact such a puzzle existed in the first place.

Sylas and the Rat vanished.

BANG.

Patriarch Kaelthar's fist clenched over his throne's armrest, shattering it to pieces. There was a bad feeling welling up in his chest right now that he couldn't describe.

Those notifications of Earth's ascent had come with a complete blackout. He had tried several times now to see beyond that current, but it was like Sylas' methods of blocking their sight were even more potent than what one would expect from a Demi-God Realm. It made no sense at all.

Not only did no one hear the Rat's words, they didn't see the duo vanish either. The last thing in their minds was the absolute savage beating of an Angel on the universal scale.

Fury was the only emotion Saeng had, but he didn't know how to direct it just yet...

Because the weight of a Progenitor was far too great. So great he didn't even have a proper concept of what it meant to be a Galaxy Progenitor. He had never even heard of such a thing being possible.

Maybe his wife would know, but she was incapacitated. There was no easy way to learn unless he demanded the others...

But they might not have an answer either.

What Saeng did know was that attacking a world from a lesser territory was already extremely difficult. It required many resources to obscure the eyes of the system properly, and even more risks on top of that.

But doing all of that while a Progenitor was also protecting this world?

It was a fool's errand. At least it would be if he did it personally.

The problem was that that moment had been projected everywhere. And considering what was happening was obstructed afterward, it meant that Sylas had done it on purpose.

Sylas knew that the reveal that he was Earth's Progenitor would change their calculations. The fact he was the Milky Way's Progenitor on top of that... Now that was something that couldn't be ignored no matter how much Saeng tried.

Saeng and his Kaelthar had been investigating the change to the Kaelthar Sector's name for a very long while now. But all they had managed to do was keep it under wraps.

Now the reason why the name had changed was all too obvious.

The system no longer saw their Sector as the dominant Sector in the Horizon.

That place was taken by Sylas' Milky Way.

He had been losing to this child for far longer than he knew. And he hadn't even stepped onto the battlefield this time, and he had still lost.

Unable to withstand the fury, Saeng roared. He roared so loudly the foundation of the Kaelthar Palace cracked, and their City Stele reacted with defensive measures, quickly forming a barrier over their capital that bloomed with crimson light.

The 001 Sanctum had been steeped in an odd atmosphere. They hadn't even finished dealing with the fallout of their ascent to 001, but then Sylas went and promoted the Emperor Sanctum to Demi-Godhood, elevating all of their branches along with it. While they weren't really Demi-Gods like the main Emperor Bloodlines were, they had certainly benefited a great deal from the offshoot.

This had left many of the 001 Sanctum confused. They weren't present at the Emperor Sanctum, so aside from the most powerful of them that had a small inkling of what happened, the vast majority of them only had small tidbits of understanding, mostly remaining in the dark otherwise.

And then, before they could even begin to understand these changes and why they all suddenly felt so much more powerful... This happened.

They had been certain that Sylas was going to die. They didn't know anything about the Angels, but they knew a powerful Race when they saw one. Anyone that could stand on an Unsummoned World against the will of the Heaven System had to come from a powerful Race.

And they couldn't just be a Demi-God...

They had to be Gods... they just had to be...

But then they scrutinized as Sylas' sure death became a complete massacre. He slaughtered Xalor again... and then again... and then again... And then, right before all their eyes, he used his eyes as resources as though the Angel was any other beast by the roadside used to stock up on Genes.

The entire Sanctum was silent. By now, they all knew who Sylas was. They knew his face by heart, his arrogance by soul. He was the one responsible for their elevation in one go, making the branches of the Sanctums they had always feared feel like little more than children beneath his fists.

But at that moment, they felt two very distinct emotions...

The first was pride. They subconsciously found themselves thinking of him as one of them. He was no longer just an outsider causing them trouble, he was someone they gravitated toward. Greatness didn't need acknowledgement... it forced it.

But there was a second feeling even more overwhelming than the first, one that sank into the hearts of even the 713th Warlords... Fear.

They couldn't see Sylas' limits, they couldn't feel the depth of the well, they didn't know how far he would grow.

They were only sure of one thing.

He would outgrow them.
