[>Genesis Forgel[>Reaper Sealwright (3/3)1[>Legendary Luck Genel(>Champion’s Will] It was clear to Sylas what this Legendary Luck Gene really was. It was like an all- rounder, a Gene that could elevate his Foundation to another level. So long as he used it, whatever stage or level his Foundation reached, he would be able to progress it even further.
If Sylas had only been able to push it to Bronze or Silver, this Legendary Luck Gene might even be enough to raise it to the level beyond. But now that Sylas was almost certain he would be able to form a Legendary Foundation, it was hard to tell what the result would be.
Maybe if he was a bit shy of a perfect Foundation, this Gene…
Sylas’ eyes flashed.
He was well aware that no matter what he did, forming the perfect Foundation was impossible.
Unless he was a member of an elite S-Grade Race, with all the resources of the world at his fingertips, forming a perfect Foundation was impossible.
But even beyond that… Sylas had left Level O far too soon. That was the largest reason he would fall short.
While forming a perfect Foundation would be impossible, maybe this Legendary Luck Gene would be able to make up for what he had lost by leaving Level 0 too soon.
“The best option would have been to stay at Level 0 until I found a way to become an S- Grade Race. But… since that’s impossible, I can use this Legendary Luck Gene to bridge the gap and make it so that whatever Grade I reach now will be optimized as though I had done it at Level 0.”
This was still shy of perfect, but it wouldn’t be as far from it as usual.
If Sylas could make it to B-Grade Human Simoid, or even be lucky enough to reach A- Grade, then the boost this Legendary Luck Gene would give him wouldn’t be insignificant at all.
As for how far he would make it… it would all be reliant on this obelisk.
Too long ago now, Sylas’ original obelisk had ended up in a situation where it could be destroyed at any point. He had had a deadline to reach Tier Four Madness Disciple to extend the time the Madness Key could spend suppressing it.
Unfortunately, Sylas had long failed in hitting that deadline.
That said… he had come into so much wealth that he had been able to feed the little girl enough to suppress it for him. He hadn’t had to worry about meeting the Madness Key’s deadlines in a very long while.
Thanks to this, the Genesis Forge had managed to remain intact for long enough to reach this moment. Now… it was just a matter of fusing them.
Sylas brought out the World Shard Jade, an idea flickering in his mind. But he chose to suppress it for the time being.
Instead, he claimed the obelisk as his reward, and then brought it in.
With a WHOOSH, Sylas found himself in a familiar world of endless fog, his head tilting Up to see not just one, but two enormous obelisks etched in ancient runes.
Staring at either one now, Sylas didn’t have nearly the same problems looking at it. While it hurt his mind the smallest bit, he was shocked to realize that the ancient carvings on the obelisks were… F-Grade Runes.
“They must be F-tier because I am also F-tier… and yet, they’re even more complicated than Genes and Gene Talents…
This shouldn’t have been a surprise. This obelisk was designed to elevate a person’s Race. Race Quintessence was only second to Potential in terms of how deep the layers were. It was likewise as complex as it was deep.
Every layer of the human body was orders of magnitude more complicated than the one that came before it. By the time you got down to Race Quintessence, it was unfathomable.
Every time Sylas came across something like this, he realized just how far he had left to go.
These were still considered F-Grade Runes, but he couldn’t even begin to draw them. Someone else would have felt so very proud that they could just conjure F-Grade Genes into being with a single thought. But to Sylas, who could see much further ahead… It felt inadequate. There was still so much more to learn.
He could carve Genes now, but when would he be able to draw Gene Talents with just as much ease? What about Blood and Bone Essence? When would he be able to conjure up a Will Ability for someone to fuse with?
When would he be able to craft a Race out of thin air?
If these were F-Grade Runes, it meant that an F-Grade Rune Master could theoretically draw them. There was no reason for him to not be capable of it.
Of course, things were hardly so simple. Even if these were F-Grade Runes, they were almost certainly carved by someone far beyond the F-tier. In fact, if Sylas progressed to the E-tier now, they would almost certainly evolve, proving his point.
But Sylas’ thoughts were the same… he never measured himself by the standards of others.
If it was possible, then he should be capable of doing it. But somehow, he had made so much progress in Runes while simultaneously feeling as though he was still at the starting line.
Despite his thoughts, Sylas’ gaze hardly wavered at all. It wasn’t a matter of if, but when. Soon there would come a day he could carve out his own Genesis Forge.
Sylas reached out a hand and clenched a fist.
The obelisks shuddered, the Will dividing the two, allowing Sylas to study them in their less complex forms for a small while, shook and shattered.
Then, seemingly realizing the other was there, they rocked on their foundations, tilted, and then suddenly slammed into one another with such force Sylas’ Will fragment was nearly blasted to pieces.
A shocking pillar of light pierced toward the dome of the world.
