Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1403: Approved

Sylas’ trench coat billowed in the winds as he reached down, pulling the door of a garage up and over his head before letting it fall behind him.

He could hardly see much outside of sparks of red and orange, a scent almost like sulfur but not quite hanging in the air. It seemed that the old man was still putting the finishing touches on the ship.

“When will it finish?” Sylas asked.

The sparks flew once more, and then stopped.

“Now,” Old Brama’s voice echoed.

Sylas nodded, looking at the ship before him.

They had made quite a bit of money, but it could be said that almost half of it was dumped into this ship.

If there was one thing Sylas learned after taking a full three months just to get from one location to the next in a single galaxy, it was that transportation was maybe the very first thing he should invest in.

But there were simply no ships that met all of his requirements. So, since he was rich and had a mechanical fanatic like Old Brama on his side, he bought five of the best C-Grade ships on the market and had Brama work his magic to splice them together.

If you could believe it, though, this wasn’t where half of the wealth he accumulated went. In fact, he had made so much money that even buying five top-of-the-line C-Grade spacecrafts had only taken about 20% of the wealth.

The other 30% was spent buying all of the star maps and hyper highway access passes for not just this Sector, but all three adjacent Sectors as well.

Very few would be likely to invest this much in travel, especially since Sylas was buying for speed and not luxury—though luckily, these two things came hand in hand.

The hyper highways were often built and maintained by powers, and they obviously wanted payment for it. But worse than that, they were extremely cautious with who they gave even information about exactly where they were to.

If you wanted to buy this sort of information, it took a lot.

As for the star maps, one only needed to look at Earth to know why they were so valuable.

Every stretch of occupied land in the universe only existed because at some point, someone had survived a Summoning and cleared out all the Demons and Dungeons that came with it. Otherwise, these regions would be suffering Dungeon breaks and Demon attacks day in and day out.

Obviously, during these dangerous times, the world was slowly mapped out.

Some of the most profitable business models in the entire universe were transportation companies that only specialized in taking people from point A to point B. And obviously, with his wealth, Sylas could use these to travel.

In fact, even if he traveled in first-class luxury for decades, he would likely not dent his wealth as much as he had in this single sitting.

But… those methods of travel required wait times, they had ticket sales and paper trails, and they had people who could be a great threat to him.

By dumping his wealth into this investment, Sylas bet that he would make back ten times this much just in exchange for time saved.

That, and he could easily start a transportation company of his own if he really felt like it. But instead, he just gave this information to the Golden Grove so they could do as they pleased with it.

He had already begun this project before knowing that the Sanctum would take this route to train disciples. But now it was an even better investment than he had originally thought.

He could get anywhere within the Sector within a week now. And soon, he would have a list of all of the Dungeons and opportunities he could partake in.

The next period would be a time for explosive growth… but not just for him.

For the last few months, he had been ignoring Nosphaleen, Gogo, and the Hollow Wing. That was by design.

Sylas wasn’t sure how prominent he wanted to make his Profession just yet. It was why he had never used Fusion in any obvious way before them.

If the Serpent Lineage was part of the traitors, it would be even more troublesome.

But now, he would have an excuse to be away from the Sanctum for an extended period of time, and he would have a shocking amount of wealth to spend even with how much he had already “wasted.”

It was time for Gogo, Nosphaleen, and the Hollow Wing to start catching up to him. He had special plans for them all, and the fact his Profession was now E-Grade would make progressing through the F-tier even more shockingly easy.

All of that pain he went through in the Milky Way was about to bear fruit. Upgrading his Professions had nearly killed him, but Runeweaver had allowed him to crush E-Grade Rune Masters, and now Vipermancer was about to take his army of Serpents to another level.

Gogo and the Hollow Wing’s progressions would be fairly straightforward. More unlocked Genes and abilities, more resources to swallow, more Levels to increase and Foundations to strengthen.

Nosphaleen, though… he had a more interesting idea for her.

But first, he was going to need to get his hands on the Whale Lineage’s legacy.

He hadn’t forgotten that there was a time Nosphaleen’s telekinesis and Will was even stronger than his own. Her talent to be a Rune Master was there, she had just never learned.

And more unfortunately, there was no time for her to learn.

Luckily… she didn’t have to.

That was why Reverse Fusion existed.

Now that he had perfected his F-Grade Rune Mastery and was moving into comprehension of the E-Grade, Sylas felt that it was about time he had more Rune Masters on his side.

He was about to craft a second Spark Master for this universe out of thin air.

Sylas’ gaze flickered as he got a notification.

[Gwenu: They approved it]

Soon, a stream of downloadable information filled Sylas’ eyes, and then came a leaderboard.
