Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day
Chapter 775 - 536: 110 Billion Times the Speed of Light
On the abandoned planet.
Karshev and a group of interstellar war correspondents have been intensely focused on the imagery transmitted from their instruments ever since the photonic wave and the Heaven-Shocking Demon God appeared.
All these interstellar war correspondents have set up two sets of filming equipment.
One is located outside the Small Magellanic Cloud.
The other is on a planet at the edge of the Small Magellanic Cloud.
Due to the distance of the filming equipment from themselves, the images have a delay.
For instance, the equipment inside the Small Magellanic Cloud has about a two-minute Earth time delay.
As for the equipment outside the Small Magellanic Cloud, the delay is somewhat shorter, only one-minute Earth time.
These aren’t the issues.
The issue is, just as Karshev and the group of interstellar war correspondents received the signal from the equipment inside the Small Magellanic Cloud, but before they could decode it into images, the equipment outside the Small Magellanic Cloud transmitted an even more shocking scene.
The star-filled Small Magellanic Cloud suddenly had its stars vanish in the blink of an eye, transforming into an enormous "bubble"!
"Hmm?" Karshev was taken aback, "Has my equipment malfunctioned? Why are there no stars in the images I received?"
The Blue Eggplant interstellar war correspondent’s face changed at this, "It shouldn’t be your equipment malfunctioning. On my side, I also see that all stars and planets inside the Small Magellanic Cloud have disappeared, only a massive ’gas membrane’ encasing everything."
"What is going on?"
"Could it be that Lu Li has already destroyed the Small Magellanic Cloud?"
"What exactly is this thing that looks like a ’gas membrane’?"
A clamor erupted among the interstellar war correspondents, wholly uncertain of what had transpired.
Many realized something was amiss and quickly manually adjusted the first received signal to decode it and see what had happened.
Karshev and the Blue Eggplant interstellar war correspondent did the same.
In the next moment, all of these interstellar war correspondents witnessed a terrifying spectacle that shook the cosmos.
In the footage, a black ripple suddenly swept in, causing everyone on the planet where their equipment was placed, whether from the Eternal Motion Race or animals or plants, to instantly lose life and collapse!
This black ripple seemed to target only living organisms, without affecting their filming equipment in any way.
Even so, the thousands upon thousands of interstellar war correspondents on this abandoned planet were still filled with chills.
"What?"
"What is this?"
"All life on Noraf Planet has perished!"
"Damn, on Binubi Planet, where I placed my equipment, as soon as the black ripple struck, all life perished too!"
"Same here..."
"And on what I’m observing..."
Screams rang out one after another, these war correspondents appeared incredibly horrified.
Before, everyone felt just frightened.
But upon hearing that the scenes observed by others were nearly identical to their own,
these interstellar war correspondents were beyond simply being scared; they were frozen to the bone!
It’s important to note that each war correspondent’s other set of equipment was placed on different planets, not clustered together.
And now, everyone had seen a similar scene, where a black ripple swept over and life on various planets was entirely extinct.
What does this signify?
It possibly indicates that the black ripple has exterminated all life within the entirety of the Small Magellanic Cloud!
Could a single black ripple truly extinguish life in an entire dwarf star system with a diameter of seven thousand light-years?
When Karshev and the other interstellar war correspondents contemplated this, naturally, their hairs stood on end with terror.
Moreover, they did not know if this black ripple might spread beyond the Small Magellanic Cloud, jeopardizing their own safety.
For a time, everyone was trembling with fear!
Suddenly, someone said tremulously, "From... from the scene just produced by the black ripple... it seems... it hasn’t destroyed any stars or planets. So... why did the stars in the Small Magellanic Cloud suddenly vanish? And, why does it look like there’s a membrane of gas forming?"
Indeed.
The black ripple merely exterminated life, not affecting anything else.
This could be deduced from how their filming equipment, placed on various planets, was still transmitting images, showing the equipment was unharmed.
If the equipment were unharmed, naturally, the planets and stars couldn’t have been destroyed either.
So, what exactly was it when they just saw the stars in the Small Magellanic Cloud suddenly disappear, leaving only a gas-formed membrane?
Everyone was extremely curious, but no matter how curious, they simply could not know.
The most critical matter was that the second set of equipment placed within the Small Magellanic Cloud, after transmitting the black ripple scene, completely went silent, as if it had been destroyed.
This left everyone puzzled.
A group of interstellar war correspondents remained silent for a long while.
Suddenly, someone suggested, "Right, can we slow down the footage and observe what happened?"
"Maybe we can."
"Let’s give it a try."
"Yes, aside from slowing down the footage, it seems there’s no other way."
Karshev and the group of war correspondents began to adjust the equipment and attempted to slow down the footage they had just captured.
