Gene Fusion System: Crime Hunter
Chapter 1441: A Grave Mistake? Turning Oneself In (2)
“No, that’s impossible. This can’t be true!”
In that moment.
Liu Shufen’s eyes widened.
She even thought she must be dreaming.
But seeing this, Liu Shufen almost couldn’t believe her own ears.
Luo Fei, however, neither confirmed nor denied it.
“Liu Shufen, as a lawyer, you should understand that doing this is against the law. Not to mention, your son has already caused the other party enormous psychological damage.”
“But just look at him and you should see it too—this brat has absolutely no remorse. He has never realized his own mistakes, and he keeps doing whatever he wants. So tell me, shouldn’t he pay the price for what he’s done?”
In Luo Fei’s view, this matter was far from as simple as it seemed on the surface; behind it was parental negligence.
They had failed to fulfill their responsibilities.
That was why the child kept being indulged, to the point of doing something utterly outrageous.
It was precisely because of Liu Shufen’s limitless indulgence of her son, even boundless tolerance.
That he became more and more excessive, to the point of doing something utterly inhuman.
But what Luo Fei hadn’t expected was—
Liu Shufen was still obstinately refusing to wake up.
At this moment she was still furious, cursing viciously.
“Officer, there is absolutely no way my son did this!”
“I can say with absolute certainty this is a misunderstanding. Either that, or someone is deliberately slandering him! I will definitely find out whether this so-called evidence is real or not. If it isn’t, I’ll drag out that damn bastard who slandered my son! I want to see exactly who is deliberately smearing him and doing something this outrageous!”
Seeing her hysterical.
As she spoke, she was on the verge of collapse.
Her face looked absolutely terrible.
Her husband beside her suddenly raised his hand and slapped her.
“Enough!”
He didn’t wait for Liu Shufen to go on.
The father, Dong, already barked at her sharply.
“Liu Shufen, do you still not get it? You’ve made a huge mistake, and now it’s almost irreversible! Yet you’re still lost in your delusions—you’ve completely let me down!”
He looked furious.
His face full of disappointment as he spoke.
Liu Shufen thought she must have misheard.
“What do you mean? Are you saying this is my fault? That I’m the one who killed our son?”
“Who else! If you hadn’t spoiled him so much, would our son have ended up like this??”
“We’ve already made an unforgivable mistake—our son is gone. Are you still going to cling to your delusions?”
The old father’s words made a fresh wave of frustration surge up in Liu Shufen’s heart.
But it was no surprise.
Because she had never tasted failure before.
Since childhood.
Whether in school or at work, everything had gone smoothly for her. She had always been very successful.
So after hearing her husband’s accusations,
she almost couldn’t accept it at all.
“No, that’s impossible. I don’t believe something like this could happen!”
Liu Shufen’s face was full of disbelief.
She could hardly believe her own ears.
The father, Dong, could only sigh.
“I don’t want to admit it either, but this is the reality.”
“We can only accept the facts now. Not only that, we also have to compensate the victims.”
As he spoke, the father, Dong, took out his phone.
He showed Luo Fei the content on the screen.
“Mr. Luo, actually I’d already felt something was off with our son. It was just that at the time I wasn’t one hundred percent sure. And earlier today, in a corner of the company warehouse, I found some tools used in the attack.”
“And from the note my son left in the warehouse, it seems he realized he might be caught. That’s why he did something extreme—to try to run away. Also, based on what Tang Siqi once told me: on her birthday she brought a bunch of classmates home. My son was one of them. He most likely realized his true face had been exposed, and was worried he’d be recognized by Tang Siqi’s parents. That’s why he killed them on the spot to silence them.”
This kind of news was hard for Luo Fei to believe as well.
But by comparison.
The wife beside him couldn’t calm down at all.
She simply could not believe what her husband was saying, and it made her feel a strong distrust toward him.
“I never would have thought our son, who was so outstanding, would end up dying at his own father’s hands! You’re his biological father, yet you won’t even stand up for him. If that’s how it is, what’s the point of us staying together? I might as well go down and be with our son!”
At that moment.
Before the father, Dong, could stop her.
Liu Shufen suddenly rammed her head into the concrete pillar by the roadside; it was a solid hit.
She snapped her neck right there.
The father, Dong, fell into utter despair.
“Aaaah! Shufen, how could you be so foolish!”
“For such an unfilial son, is it really worth it?”
Even though he was deeply frustrated inside.
Luo Fei still had no choice but to tell his subordinates to handle the aftermath.
As for himself, he planned to temporarily stop intervening in this case.
Because in Luo Fei’s view,
this was the consequence of the couple’s own negligence; it had little to do with anyone else.
Ring, ring, ring!
Just then.
Su Jianfan’s phone rang.
Seeing that it was Chen Lina calling,
Su Jianfan felt a bit annoyed at once.
“Why does this woman haunt me like a ghost?”
Though that’s what he thought,
he still picked up the phone out of courtesy.
“Chen Lina, what is it?”
Hearing Su Jianfan ask like that,
Chen Lina hurried to explain.
“Su Jianfan, I’m not calling because I’m looking for you. I’m calling to report a crime. I just saw someone kill a person with my own eyes!”
“Who is it? Don’t tell me you’re going to say it’s Wang Bolin?”
“No! It’s a classmate of mine. He killed his own wife and even posted it in his Moments!”
“Huh?”
This news stunned Su Jianfan for a second.
Then he asked in surprise,
“Chen Lina, are you serious?”
“Why would I lie to you! It’s obviously true. And he openly admitted that he just couldn’t stand his wife’s family always trying to lord it over him, so he got furious. He said her family kept escalating their bullying of him, so he did something extreme.”
But at this point,
Luo Fei snorted dismissively.
“Tch, that’s just an excuse. Usually, for a man to go to extremes, either his dignity’s been trampled, or he doesn’t have money to live on. Otherwise he wouldn’t do something like this. My guess is he’s just a kept man with no face to show, and he had no dignity living in his wife’s family’s house—probably even moved in with them as a son-in-law. That’s why he did this.”
Luo Fei’s analysis made Chen Lina shudder.
“Mr. Luo, you’re amazing! You’re absolutely right. That’s exactly what happened.”
Hearing the admiration in her voice,
Luo Fei just shook his head with a smile.
“In any case, what’s done is done. We should just handle it by the book.”
“Chen Lina, don’t panic. Wait a bit, our people will conduct an in-depth investigation into this.”
With that, Luo Fei hung up the phone.
A short while later.
When he got back to the station.
Tang Siqi was already waiting there.
“Mr. Luo, I really have to thank you for this. If you hadn’t personally stepped in, I might never have known who the real killer was. I still can’t believe it. I really didn’t dare imagine that he was the murderer.”
Tang Siqi looked stunned.
Her voice was choked with emotion as she spoke.
Luo Fei quickly tried to comfort her.
“Tang Siqi, now you can finally put your mind at ease. I also believe that if your parents knew this in the afterlife, they would be very glad. They would be proud of you.”
“Mr. Luo, thank you, really, thank you.”
While Luo Fei and the others were talking,
a man walked quickly into the lobby of the police station.
As soon as he saw the man appear,
Luo Fei immediately became alert.
“Sir, what brings you to the station?”
Hearing his cautious tone,
the man hurried to explain.
“Officer, I’m here to turn myself in.”
