Chapter 151: A Long Journey

'How did it all start?'

Joffrey sat beneath the golden oak, his eyes closed, the scent of flowers and grass filling his lungs. The garden stretched around him, vast and impossible, a world within a world. He had created this place. He had willed it into being.

But his mind was elsewhere now. Drifting backward in time. Through the centuries and to a very different life.

'How did it all start?' He remembered being Harry Potter. The boy who lived. The chosen one. The hero.

He had been so innocent and pure back then.

He had believed in goodness, in justice, in the power of love. He had been willing to die for his friends, for his world, or even for strangers he had never met.

When he had walked into the Forbidden Forest that day, he had gone to face Voldemort alone, and sacrificed himself without hesitation.

'I was a fool,' he thought. 'A brave fool, but a fool nonetheless.' His bravery steemed in great part for his lack of self worth.

Harry had been raised to be believe he was a worthless child thanks to his lovely aunt Petunia.

Later on, he looked up to Albus Dumbledore, who he view as a example of how a wizard should be.

But this was only the beginning of his journey.

Twas not the whole tale, and he would go on to become something else…something much darker as the years passed.

After Voldemort's defeat, Harry had not rested. He had not retired to a quiet life with his wife. He had not faded into obscurity, content with his victory.

No…he had continued to hunt.

First, he had hunted the remaining Death Eaters, the dark wizards who had escaped justice.

Later on, he went after any new Dark Lords who rose to fill the vacuum left by Voldemort's fall.

When Britain finally found some semblance of peace, Harry had traveled across the world, from the depths of the Amazon to the frozen wastes of Siberia, tracking down evil in all its forms.

He had told himself it was duty. That he had the power to stop these monsters, so he had the responsibility to do so. That if he did not act, who would?

But somewhere along the way, that hunt had started to change him.

From every Dark Lord he defeated, he learned something. A new spell. A new technique. A new way of channeling magic that he had never considered before. The dark arts were seductive, whispering secrets that the light could not offer.

'I told myself I was using them for good,' he thought. 'I told myself I was just learning, just studying, just understanding the enemy. to defean them more efficiently.'

But understanding the enemy meant becoming like them.

Without realizing what was happening to him, he had begun to inherit their flaws. Their obsessions. Their hunger for power, for knowledge, and for eternal life. He had told himself he was different, that he would never fall as they had fallen. But the line between using the darkness and becoming the darkness was thinner than he had ever imagined.

Years passed, and Harry began to fear one thing…death.

His time was running out and quickly. His mission was far from done but he knew his body was not going to last long enough.

His three wives had helped him craft it. Hermione, whose mind was as sharp as a blade. Luna, whose eyes saw what others could not. Ginny, whose heart burned with a fire that never dimmed. Together, they had created the Elixir of Life.

A potion that extended his lifespan far beyond the natural limits of a wizard. It had allowed him to live for over five hundred years while still retaining a body that could pass as forty.

But even that magnificent elixir had a limit, and five hundred years had not been enough either.

'I wanted more,' he thought. 'I always wanted more.'

He had become obsessed. Not just with living, but with living forever. With achieving true immortality. With breaking the wheel of life and death itself.

Hermione had warned him. She had told him that he was going too far, that he was becoming the very thing he had spent centuries fighting against. She had begged him to stop, to be content with what he had, to accept that death was a natural part of life.

But he had not listened.

'I never listened.'

He remembered the night of the ritual. The alignment of the planets. The device he had created to channel cosmic energy into his body. The hope that he would finally achieve the immortality he had sought for so long.

And then the explosion.

The light. The darkness. And then... nothing.

He had died. Harry Potter, the savior of the wizarding world, had died in a tower of his own making, consumed by the very power he had sought to control.

'And then I woke up.'

He had woken in the body of a young man. A golden-haired, green-eyed prince of a dynasty he did not know. Joffrey Baratheon. The son of a king. The heir to the Iron Throne.

But he had not been alone in that body.

The remnant wishes of the original Joffrey were still there, lingering like ghosts in his new home. The spoiled prince's obsessions…his hunger for power, his desire for control, his fear of being seen as weak had merged with Harry's own ambitions, creating something new. Something twisted.

The change was so smooth that he didnt even noticed it until now.

'I became worse in this new life,' Joffrey thought. 'I became something even Harry would have hated.'

The human experiments. The ruthless pursuit of power. The willingness to do anything, sacrifice anyone, to achieve his goals. The old Harry would never have considered such things. But Joffrey... Joffrey had found them acceptable.

'Anything was fine,' he thought. 'As long as it brought me closer to my goal.'

He had wanted to become immortal. Perfect. A being beyond death, beyond weakness, beyond all limitation. He had wanted to master all magic, in all worlds. To become something more than a man. More than a wizard.

'I wanted to be a god.'

But why?

He did not know anymore.

He searched his memories, trying to find the root of his obsession. Was it fear of death? Fear of losing those he loved? Fear of being ordinary, of being forgotten, of being nothing?

'None of those things make sense anymore.'

He was at peace now. The garden had given him that. The golden light had given him that. For the first time in centuries, in two lifetimes. He felt content with what he had.

He did not need more power. He did not need more knowledge. He did not need to become something more.

He was enough.

He inhaled deeply, the scent of flowers filling his lungs. The jasmine, the roses, the grass. And then…he smelled something else.

A new scent. A familiar one.

Someone had entered his domain.

Joffrey opened his eyes. The garden was still around him, beautiful and impossible. But something had changed. There was a presence here now. A presence that had not been here before.

He did not know how long he had been in the garden. Days? Weeks? It could not have been years…the flowers would have wilted, the trees would have grown. But time had stopped mattering to him somehow.

The presence grew closer. He could feel her footsteps on the grass, light and cautious. He could feel her uncertainty, her wonder, her fear.

She was right in front of him now.

He looked up and spoke her name.

"Daenerys."

She stood before him, her violet eyes wide with shock. She was staring at him as if she had never seen him before.

"J-Joffrey?" she asked, as if she was not sure who he was.

'Am I different?' he wondered. 'Do I look different to her?'

He looked down at himself. His clothes were the same. His body was the same. But something had changed. He felt it.

Her thoughts brushed against his mind. Only surface thoughts…she did not know how to shield them, but they were clear enough. She was thinking about his eyes.

'My eyes have changed?'

He must have looked away from her, or perhaps his expression had shifted, because she spoke again.

"Joffrey... are you okay?"

He looked back at her. Her concern was genuine. He could feel it radiating from her like warmth from a fire. She cared about him. She was worried about him.

She loved him.

He looked around at the garden he had created. He could not blame her for being surprised by this place. Even for the most powerful wizards, manipulating space to this degree was not possible. He had probably broken a dozen rules from his old world. He had expanded the small laboratory into a space larger than a football field, with an enchanted ceiling to simulate the sky and everything else.

And he had done that in an instant. Without writing any runes. Without even using a wand.

He had only needed a thought.

'This power...' he thought. 'It is something else entirely.'

But that was not what mattered right now. What mattered was the woman in front of him. The woman who had come looking for him. The woman who cared for him so much.

He looked back at her and said, "I feel better than ever. Thank you for asking."

Images flew into his mind. They came from Daenerys. Her thoughts. She was thinking about the people she had met, the people who had come to Meereen looking for him.

'Myrcella?,' he realized. 'Myrcella is here.'

He expanded his senses, reaching beyond the garden, beyond the laboratory, beyond the pyramid.

He could feel every living being in the city of Meereen…the Dothraki, the freedmen, the Unsullied, the former Masters, plotting for their revenge. And there, in the guest quarters of the main pyramid, he felt a presence he had not felt in a while.

'Myrcella.'

She was anxious and scared. She was desperate to see him.

"Myrcella is here," he said, more to himself than to Daenerys. "She came all the way here to see me. There is something she wishes to tell me."

Daenerys stared at him. "Wait... how did you-"

Joffrey stood up. "I'll go see her now. She needs me."

"I told them to bring them to-"

"I know," Joffrey said.

He thought about the place where he wanted to go. The guest quarters of the main pyramid. The room where Myrcella was waiting.

And then he disappeared from the garden.
