173 Pitied These People
“Oh, the hour does go by quickly when I’m with you.” Yang Liqin smiled brightly.
“I was bored to death when I was waiting here, but when you arrived. The time passed so fast that I didn’t even notice.”
“Well, this is common for people when they are having fun.” Jiang Ming laughed, standing up at the top of the Kractacle.
His vision focused on the transparent barrier ahead of him. In another few minutes, the barrier would vanish and everyone could finally advance to check on the meteor.
“Can you lend me a hand?”
While Jiang Ming was focused on the barrier, he heard Yang Liqin asking him from behind.
He turned around and saw Yang Liqin had her legs spread out, but one of her hands was covering the best part whereas her other hand was extending forward. She was clearly asking him to lift her up but decided to tease him in the meantime.
Jiang Ming wanted to facepalm at his feisty aunt’s behavior..
‘Seriously, if I didn’t already ravage you before, then I bet my lower part would explode in fury.’ Jiang Ming thought, grabbing her hand and lifting her up.
Meanwhile, Yang Liqin wrapped her hand around his arm and leaned on his shoulder.
“Do you want to do it once we leave the ancient ruin?” She whispered sweetly into his ear.
“I can tell that you have made a breakthrough and advanced to the Spiritual Lord Realm, meaning your stamina must have increased drastically, right?”
“When did you realize it?” Jiang Ming asked calmly. He had concealed his aura of the Spiritual Lord Realm purposely. In a free for all battlefield, concealing one’s strength is a necessity.
After all, you would be at a disadvantage if your opponents were to know your true strength in the beginning.
“You might have hidden it perfectly, but look at how close we were in the past hour. If I still can’t tell that you had a breakthrough, then I should just crawl to a corner to hide in shame.” Yang Liqin replied.
Jiang Ming nodded his head.
He proceeded to spend the last few minutes explaining how he breakthrough and was stabilizing his foundation.
By the time he finished his explanation, the transparent barrier had vanished completely.
“Let’s go, the barrier is no longer intact.”
“The treasure ahead must be great, and belongs to our clan.”
“Hmph, a mere clan like you wish to obtain the treasures? Truly an ignorant pig that doesn’t know how high the sky is.”
The crowd started fighting each other, with their intentions being clear as day. All of them wanted to be the first ones to arrive at the scene.
“Sigh, I don’t get why they are fighting already.” Yang Liqin glanced from above and shook her head. “If the treasures are meant to be yours, then it doesn’t matter if you went in first or last.”
“Well, if they have that kind of understanding, then the cultivation world would have been a different world.” Jiang Ming commented.
It’s in their human blood to always want to be the first. Such is the law of nature.
“When are we going to go in?” Yang Liqin asked.
“We can go in whenever you feel like it, Yiqin. Either way, I’ve already accomplished what I wanted and I’m not far from my goal.” Jiang Ming replied calmly. All he needed to do was finish the ancient ruin expedition and complete the main storyline.
Since there was a sudden meteor and his GLCS is about to be upgraded, he was sure that the meteor was the ending part.
‘I don’t know how long this expedition was, but I sure want to take a hot shower afterward.’ Jiang Ming thought.
Sometime later, almost everyone that was gathered in the area had left for the crash site.
“Fellow cultivator Jing, do you wish to follow along with us?” Ping Gong’s voice echoed from below.
“Hmm, you’re still here?” Jiang Ming raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t you going to rush in like the other people?”
Ping Gong scratched his head slightly. “Originally, that was my plan, but seeing how fellow cultivator Jing still remained here… I thought it was better to stay behind for a while as well.”
Jiang Ming nodded his head.
He turned around and stared at Hung Chao, “Then what about you, Hung Chao. I was sure that you came here to check on the crash site of the meteor, right?”
“Tch, I’m just following Ping Gong and waiting for him to give me a beef jerky strip.” Hung Chao shrugged his shoulders, clearly using him as an excuse.
“I bet they were awed by your skills and thought that following you would get them more benefits.” Yang Liqin whispered from behind. She wasn’t foolish to not know what was truly on their mind.
Jiang Ming agreed with her claim since it was way too obvious. “Since they want to reap benefits by following us, then we should make them work for it, right?”
“What evil scheme are you planning?”
“Hehe, they shall be the bait for us. After all, there are prices to pay if you want to take the easy route.”
“You are so wickedly handsome,” Yang Liqin giggled and embraced him, flirting in front of them.
Ping Gong and Hung Chao could only lament their cruel fate of not having such luck with a jade beauty.
Sometime later, Jiang Ming asked Yang Liqin to command the Kractacle to start heading forward.
At the same time, Jiang Ming made sure to inform Ping Gong and Hung Chao. “Alright, you two can tag along with us, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you dare to lag behind or hinder our movement, then we’ll dump you in an instant.”
“Rest assured, fellow cultivator Jing. I, Ping Gong, am not some useless man.” Ping Gong cupped his fist and said. Hung Chao also followed and repeated the same words.
“Oh dear… I’ve truly pitied these people sometimes.” Yang Liqin chuckled.
