16 Blood Curse
“Well, isn’t it better for this change or do you wish for me to become timid like back then, allowing those people to harm me as they please?” Jiang Ming said in a teasing manner, causing Madam Yang to giggle.
“You don’t have to tease your aunt as you already know I prefer this new Jiang Ming better.” Madam Yang said with a glistening smile.
It has been a long time since she has been so happy and smiling like this.
Ever since her sister died, Jiang Ming was her only motivation to survive but she had to constantly worry about her well-being.
However, things are different now with Jiang Ming being capable of surviving by himself.
“Aunt no longer has to worry you so I think I can finally leave this world in peace,” Madam Yang smiled before she started coughing some blood out.
Jiang Ming wasn’t surprised as he quickly retrieved a handkerchief and wiped the blood in her mouth.
“Cough cough, you don’t seem very shocked about my condition.” Madam Yang smiled bitterly as she didn’t want to expose her weak self in front of him..
“Surprise? Why would I be surprised when I already knew that you had an injury?” Jiang Ming laughed slightly, causing Madam Yang to widen her eyes in shock.
“D-Don’t tell me-“
“Yes, I detected your injuries when I woke up.” Jiang Ming quickly cut her off before she could ask if it were from back then that he knew.
“Since that’s the case then you already know aunt will die in a few weeks from now.” Madam Yang chuckled bitterly as she didn’t want to leave Jiang Ming alone already.
Alas, the injuries lingering in her body could not be cured by any doctor that she sought.
“It’s already good to know that you can survive without me now.” Madam Yang quickly shook her negative thinking as she was grateful already.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming caressed her cheek before planting a kiss on her lips, causing Madam Yang to yelp in surprise.
She quickly pushed him off and stuttered, “Don’t Jiang Ming, I’m your aunt and soon a dead person. We can’t do this kind of immoral thing.”
Jiang Ming didn’t force himself as he asked one simple question.
“What if you can still live on with me forever then would you allow me to embrace you?”
Madam Yang shuddered as she couldn’t reply to Jiang Ming and tried to avoid his gaze.
“Based on your reaction, I already knew the answer.” Jiang Ming said as he leaned closer to her ears. “You would gladly embrace me without letting it go if it weren’t for the blood curse in your body.”
“B-Blood curse?”
Madam Yang held a dumbfounded expression as she didn’t know what Jiang Ming just uttered.
Jiang Ming’s expression darkened when he saw her reaction. ‘Aunt doesn’t know that her illness is not natural but planted by someone?’
Instead of second-guessing for an answer, Jiang Ming stared deeply at Madam Yang and asked, “Did you think your illness came naturally?”
“I had this illness because of some genetics in our family apparently. It’s incurable and I had already given up hope since my cultivation base continued to deteriorate as time passed.” Madam Yang replied swiftly without needing to think.
The illness has caused her cultivation to become weaker as time passed and she has already done her best to suppress it until now.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming smiled inwardly at Madam Yang’s answer. ‘Seems like there are more people courting death and want to force my hand.’
Jiang Ming held Madam Yang’s hand tightly. “Aunt, rest assured that those quack doctor’s words are nonsense. Allow me to cure your blood curse and at that time….”
Jiang Ming teased Madam Yang without continuing his word but she was smart enough to understand his intention.
Madam Yang lowered her head slightly and muttered, “Not only did you get smarter, but you also became extremely… naughty.”
“I’ll take that answer as yes,” Jiang Ming didn’t mind being called naughty as he injected some of his true qi inside Madam Yang’s body.
Madam Yang sensed his true qi but didn’t do anything as she allowed him to venture around her body.
Usually, it’s extremely dangerous to allow someone else to inject their true qi into your body as they can easily cripple or even kill you with a single thought.
However, Madam Yang has full trust in Jiang Ming as she leaned on his shoulder with her eyes closed.
‘Being able to rely on someone is indeed the greatest feeling.’ Madam Yang said inwardly as she continued to feel the warmth from Jiang Ming that seemed to become a big boulder, shielding her from any possible danger.
While Madam Yang relaxed her guard completely, Jiang Ming’s expression darkened by the minutes as he sensed the blood curse around her body.
‘With my current cultivation, I’m still a bit too weak to destroy the blood curse completely. Damn it, aunt doesn’t have much time as I can feel she only has less than 3 weeks left to live.’ Jiang Ming cursed inwardly and wished that he still had a little bit of his cultivation base in the game.
He needs to be at least around the 6th Spiritual Elementary to guarantee that he can cure Madam Yang’s blood curse. Although it would exhaust a lot of true qi and required his utmost concentration, Jiang Ming can still manage it.
The problem is… the original Jiang Ming is complete trash that he was only a lowly 2nd Spiritual Elementary before he took over and broke through to the 3rd Spiritual Elementary.
‘Fine, I shall risk my foundation since I cannot lose my aunt when I have the ability to cure her.’ Jiang Ming clenched his fist as his eyes turned fiery red.
Afterward, he held Madam Yang tightly in his embrace. “Aunt, give me 2 weeks’ time to cleanse the blood curse from you.”
“Un, I’ll leave my life in your hands.” Madam Yang replied softly as she fell asleep in his embrace.
The blood curse is slowly affecting her consciousness as Madam Yang couldn’t even remain awake for any bit longer.
Jiang Ming clenched his fist in anger as he sensed her pulse was getting weaker and knew he didn’t have much time left.
