156 Exchange Moves
Yang Liqin’s suggestion of exchanging a few moves came as a shock for Gao Fushou.
He couldn’t understand how the Huo Clan managed to earn such a favor from Yang Liqin.
The Huo Clan wasn’t influential enough to have others desperately trying to curry favor with them. In fact, their Gao Clan could be considered equal or even a bit more influential than the Huo Clan.
‘Damn it, we spent so much time tracking down this Huo Ning to steal the artifacts in her spatial ring. Why did this mysterious expert have to intervene?’ Gao Fushou cursed silently.
His original objective could be considered void with the appearance of Yang Liqin, especially when she had clearly stated her position.
“So how about it, Gao Fushou?” Yang Liqin asked calmly.
“Since fellow cultivator Yiqin wants to exchange moves, then so be it.” Gao Fushou cupped his fist in response and stepped forward..
He retrieved his sword and pointed at Yang Liqin, “Gao Fushou seeks your advice.”
Yang Liqin nodded her head.
Sometime later, Gao Fushou kicked the ground softly, propelling himself toward Yang Liqin. He brandished his sword and made a 90-degree slashing motion.
An arc of light was created as it approached Yang Liqin rapidly. As the arc of light passed through some grass, it was sliced in a clean cut.
‘Although the sword’s move is a bit inferior when compared to Di Qiaowei, this should be enough to defeat Huo Ning.’ Yang Liqin concluded after seeing the sword slash.
Despite the arc of light rapidly approaching her, she kept a calm demeanor as she raised one finger.
And in an unknown technique, she destroyed the arc of light with a slight movement of her finger, shocking Gao Fushou and the others in the meantime.
“What the hell?”
“Gao Fushou’s Skywarp Slash was destroyed by a single finger! How did she do that?”
‘A-Amazing… when can I be powerful enough to use a finger to deter such a move?’ Huo Ning’s eyes were gleaming in a sparkly light as she was impressed and awestruck by Yang Liqin’s technique.
Meanwhile, Gao Fushou held a stunned expression as he swallowed a mouthful of his salvia nervously.
Although his first action wasn’t his full strength, he had made sure to use at least 70% of his power to test Yang Liqin. Never did he expect that his 70% of power was easily shattered into nothingness by Yang Liqin.
‘Thank god I didn’t straight up offend her and took the cautious approach. Otherwise, I feared that my fate would be no different than Di Qiaowei- no my fate might be even worse.’ Gao Fushou exclaimed inwardly.
Without any information or background regarding Yang Liqin, Gao Fushou could not determine whether Yang Liqin was a ruthless person or not.
A bead of sweat could be seen trickling down on Gao Fushou’s forehead as he pondered his next move. He wasn’t going to give up after attacking once since he needed to confirm that Yang Liqin indeed had the ability to kill them all.
Perhaps he was still clenching on the thought that Yang Liqin could only use that one unknown technique once, then he and his other companion would still have a chance of besieging them.
“I admit fellow cultivator Yiqin is strong, but I’m not done yet,” Gao Fushou wiped off his sweat as he closed his eyes. By the time he reopened them, there was a profound gaze with a dim blue light-emitting.
Yang Liqin squinted her eyes slightly beneath her mask. ‘Seems like he’s going all-in now huh.’
Her vision was still crystal clear despite wearing a mask which surprised her if she had to be honest. The mask was similar to a high-rank item that is specifically crafted by specialists such as an inscription master.
‘Where did Jiang Ming manage to purchase such items? I doubt that the capital has an inscription master worthy enough for such quality.’ Yang Liqin wondered silently.
While she was in deep thought, Gao Fushou was already ready for his second strike.
“Fellow cultivator Yiqin, watch out,” Gao Fushou warned. His body started circulating a lot of energy fluctuation. Spiritual qi began shrouding around his body, causing the surrounding environment to tremble heavily.
Another second later, Gao Fushou swung his sword, and numerous swords appeared out of nowhere, creating an illusion of multiple swords hovering midair.
“Hmm, an illusion sword art huh. You have indeed practiced quite a bit to have at least 12 swords hovering midair.” Yang Liqin calmly praised. She was a bit impressed by Gao Fushou’s prowess in manipulating and controlling an illusion sword art.
Gao Fushou was baffled for a brief moment when his trump card was casually pointed out by Yang Liqin effortlessly.
‘Ugh, seriously, just why do we have two mysterious cultivators coming out from the mountainside. This is clearly a bully.’ Gao Fushou cried inwardly. The illusion sword art was their Gao Clan’s secret and no one had dared to openly use it unless they had no other choice.
And whenever they used it, the opponents would always be confused by the structure of their technique, prompting them to face defeat.
However, their so-called secret technique was instantly exposed by Yang Liqin. And to make things worse, he could subtly hear a disdainful tone coming from her.
“M-May I ask how fellow cultivator Yiqin knows about my illusion sword art?” Gao Fushou asked stutteringly.
If it were because of a traitor in their Gao Clan that had leaked their secret technique, then he vowed to find and kill that traitor. After all, leaking out a clan’s secret was equivalent to sabotaging and bringing their clan to a ruin.
Yang Liqin, on the other hand, shrugged her shoulders in response. “The illusion sword art you’re using right now is incomplete and seems to be missing the crucial part.”
And she continued, “In other words, your illusion sword art lacks the true essence of the technique. Hence, you could only summon 12 swords at most, and the power is degraded by a large margin.”
