126 When Two Women Met
“What are you smirking for?” Alchemist Ren’s sneering somehow ticked Jiang Ming off.
He raised his legs and kicked Alchemist Ren’s butt. “If you have so much time sneering at a newbie, then you better not make a single mistake. Otherwise, I’ll make sure that your butt will bloom red like a flower.”
Alchemist Ren sweated nervously when he heard his threat.
Who doesn’t know what his analogy meant by kicking his butt to no ends?
“I-I’ll quickly consume the knowledge, Master.” Alchemist Ren no longer dared to snicker at Chau Zhimen as he resumed his study of the techniques that Jiang Ming imparted to him.
As for Chau Zhimen, he had truly lost all his respect for Alchemist Ren. Everything he had dreamed of was nothing but falsified reality.
‘This Senior Ren is no different than a bully in a classroom.’ Chau Zhimen thought. Though he didn’t dare to reveal his emotion and calmly studied the technique Jiang Ming gave him.
Alchemist Ren’s punishment was enough to give him a heads-up that Jiang Ming was not going to go easy on them..
“You have 20 minutes approximately to study the techniques well while I start to inspect the herbs.” Jiang Ming warned. “If anyone fails to meet my expectation, then don’t blame me for being heartless.”
“YES SIR!”
While the refinement room slowly turned into a prison room for the two individuals, Chau Heung was filled with worries on the first floor.
‘Hopefully, my little brother is wise to learn from Jiang Ming. If he can learn even one-tenth of his skills, then I’ll be reassured.’ Chau Heung thought.
Just when she was in deep thought, a person walked in and knocked on her receptionist’s desk.
“Hello, I’m here to look for someone.” The person inquired.
Chau Heung snapped out of her daze as she stared at the person that had just spoken.
Soon, her eyes opened wide when she recognized the person.
“H-Hong Ling, why are you suddenly here?” She asked in confusion.
Chau Heung and Hong Ling both worked in the alchemist guild for a long time.
However, unlike her, Hong Ling was more fortunate enough to follow a Young Master and was set for life.
Of course, Chau Heung wasn’t present when that happened as she needed to tend to her little brother’s injury due to his cauldron exploding at home. Hence, she didn’t know who the ‘Young Master’ that Hong Ling had followed.
“I’m just here to look for my Young Master,” Hong Ling responded. She had just freshened up after the embarrassing moment in the morning and was hoping to find Jiang Ming to explain that she was not a pervert.
Meanwhile, Chau Heung was a bit skeptical since she didn’t recall meeting any fancy Young Master coming into the alchemist guild today. In fact, there were barely any people walking on the streets nowadays, almost like they were all busy at home, preparing for something big.
“I see… then who’s the Young Master you are referring to, Hong Ling?” Chau Heung asked.
Hong Ling flashed a smile as she replied, “My Young Master is Jiang Ming. You should have heard of him considering his magnificent deeds in the Central District.”
“…”
Chau Heung instantly froze in place when the Young Master that Hong Ling followed was none other than Jiang Ming.
‘H-How can this be?’ Chau Heung screamed inwardly. It was too much of a coincidence and she almost stumbled backward.
“What’s the matter, Chau Heung?” Hong Ling raised an eyebrow. “If you want, I can ask my Young Master to see if he would be willing to help you out a bit. After all, being a receptionist here would more or less be grope by those disgusting customers.”
Although she already had a good life, Hong Ling wouldn’t forget the friendship she had with Chau Heung. In the past, whenever a notorious young master came over and tried to molest her, it was always Chau Heung’s intervention and useful communication skills to save her.
Hence, she wouldn’t burn the bridge after crossing and would try her best to help her out.
“I know that your little brother has always strived to become an alchemist to improve your status.” Hong Ling said. “If I plead with the Young Master, he will definitely do his best to help your little brother succeed.”
‘My little brother is already on his path to becoming an alchemist because of your Young Master…’ Chau Heung wanted to say this aloud, but she didn’t. It was rude and inconvenient for her to say that she had already gotten her Young Master to help.
Awkwardness bloomed across Chau Heung as she didn’t know what to say. Feeling distressed, Chau Heung decided to come clean since keeping this kind of secret was stressful.
“Hong Ling, the truth is this…” Chau Heung spent the next 10 minutes explaining what had happened.
By the time she finished, Hong Ling held a dumbfounded expression.
“A-As expected of my Young Master… he already laid his hand on you as soon as you returned from your break.” Hong Ling said sarcastically.
While the two women enjoyed their time of reunion, back in the refinement room, two people could be seen sweating from top to bottom.
“M-Master, why is the room turning so hot?” Chau Zhimen asked Alchemist Ren in a trembling tone.
The current room temperature was exceedingly close to a volcano eruption. Even without moving, they could feel their skin burning from the hot temperature.
Alchemist Ren was no different as he had already taken off some clothes. “I don’t know either. I’m a veteran alchemist and what kind of hot temperature had I not been in before?”
And he continued, “Normally, the heat would never bother me, but I feel like the heat is directly assaulting my internal organs.”
Chau Zhimen’s mouth had already dried up as he found it difficult to remain conscious.
Though they were struggling to resist the heat, none of them dared to utter any sounds considering Jiang Ming was facing the source of heat closed-up.
‘Hmm, should I increase the temperature again?’ Jiang Ming wondered silently, glancing at the cauldron that was extracting the impurities of herbs.
