109 Another Victim
“Anyway, now that you got the gist of why I accepted you as my personal student, I can finally relax my back.” Yuan Chunhua said blissfully.
And she continued, “To be honest, there were times when I literally wanted to kick you out of the academy because of how useless you were. But your aunt would just keep visiting me and reassuring me that you will improve.”
“…”
Hearing the honest words from Yuan Chunhua, Jiang Ming was regretting a little bit.
Now he could no longer fantasize that Yuan Chunhua was interested in him, hence her constant visiting and requests.
With all his confidence and hopes shattered, Jiang Ming closed his eyes to take a deep breath.
‘Calm down, at least I know that aunt truly loves me,’ he comforted himself silently.
Sometime later, Yuan Chunhua made a soft sigh as she glanced upward, looking at the clear blue sky.
“J-Jiang Ming, if possible, can you please tell your aunt that I didn’t know you were going to get targeted and almost cause you to die?” She asked nervously..
‘Bitch, he really did die because of your negligence. But then again, the original Jiang Ming is really trash and I don’t know how much time I have said it already.’
Jiang Ming wanted to say that aloud but kept it to heart.
After all, no one is a saint and could predict the future.
“Why should I help you meet with my aunt?” Jiang Ming shrugged his shoulders.
“My aunt doesn’t want to see you, so I’m not going to be a bad nephew and go against her wishes.” He added.
And yes, Jiang Ming was being petty right now as he couldn’t handle the truth. If it were his original appearance, then he could understand why he didn’t attract Yuan Chunhua.
However, he was so handsome and physically fit now. Only a blind fool would not flock to him.
Jiang Ming was so deeply hurt that he placed both his hands on the wall with his head lowered down, creating a 90-degree right angle.
Meanwhile, Yuan Chunhua looked at Jiang Ming in confusion, wondering if he had hit his head somewhere.
‘What the hell is wrong with this kid?’ She didn’t know how to react to his actions.
Sometime later, Jiang Ming managed to calm his emotion as he turned around and stared at Yuan Chunhua.
“Pretend you didn’t see anything before.” He said in a deadpan tone. “If you want to meet my aunt, then I’m only going to tell her about it. However, don’t expect me to do anything to convince her if she rejects it.”
Yuan Chunhua nodded her head.
“I understand, Jiang Ming. It’s fine as long as you help me transmit the message.” She said calmly.
It was like a heavyweight was lifted off her when she realized she might have a chance to meet with Yang Liqin again. Others would not understand why she wanted to meet up with her since it was a very private matter.
Jiang Ming wasn’t going to bother to ask anyway since it was pointless. If she refused to speak, then no matter how much he asked, she would keep silent, so why waste time on it?
“Anyway, now that the meeting with Lei Clan is finished, what other clan are we going to be visiting?” Jiang Ming asked. He was sure that there are more clans colluding with each other, and that their duty today is to warn each of them to not do something stupid.
“Indeed, we have about 5 more powerful clans separated as the Di, Tang, Ping, Wen, and Hung to visit today.” Yuan Chunhua said in an exhausted tone.
Just one powerful clan in the Northern Continent was enough to wreak havoc. Yet they have to deal with approximately 6 powerful clans.
One mishap and the whole Northern Continent would be embroiled in a civil war, causing numerous casualties everywhere.
Thinking about the future consequences, even Jiang Ming couldn’t help but feel a headache rising up.
“Fucking hell, can’t these schemers wait at all?’ Jiang Ming cursed inwardly.
His plan of earning big and gaining influence would all go down the drain if the Northern Continent turned to ruin.
Therefore, whether Jiang Ming was willing or not, he must stop whatever plan the 6 powerful clans are scheming to preserve his goal. Not to mention, the system’s mission is closely related to the clans, forcing him to investigate.
Of course, he can just screw it all and go to bed instead, but at what cost?
“Ugh, then which clan are we going to next, Instructor Yuan Chunhua? The Di clan?” Jiang Ming asked.
Just when Yuan Chunhua was about to respond, her talisman started blinking.
Confused, she retrieved her talisman and injected some of her spiritual qi.
“What’s the matter, Qizhi Shun? Aren’t you and the rest dining in a restaurant?” Yuan Chunhua asked.
“There’s an emergency, Commander Yuan. One of our soldiers found another victim in the back alley of the restaurant we were dining in.” Qizhi Shun’s voice resounded from the talisman, sounding extremely anxious.
“WHAT???!” Yuan Chunhua exclaimed in shock.
“Quickly isolate the scene from the commoners and make sure nobody touches anything. Jiang Ming and I will arrive there as soon as possible.”
“I understand, Commander Yuan. Our soldiers are closing off the area and preventing anyone from leaving the restaurant.”
“What’s the restaurant that you guys are dining in?”
“It’s a newly established restaurant that has recently become famous in the capital, Lavender Heaven.”
“Alright then, we’ll keep in touch later.” Yuan Chunhua said and closed the connection of the talisman once she got their location.
She tilted her head and stared at Jiang Ming.
Biting her lips softly, she asked, “Would you still be willing to help me out in the investigation?”
Jiang Ming shrugged his shoulders.
“I already boarded your pirate ship, so what’s there to ask? Let’s just hurry to Lavender Heaven before another victim appears.” He teased slightly.
