Game Like World: My EX Profession is Legion Summoner!
Chapter 89: The Third Legion
Ethan woke up the following morning and stretched his arms above his head.
He had slept well, and he felt much better than he had the night before. As he lowered his arms, he noticed his identification token lying on the bed beside him. It must have slipped out of his pocket when he went to sleep.
A screen hovered above the token.
[Swarm Dungeon Challenge]
[The challenge has officially ended!]
[Final rankings and rewards have been calculated.]
[All participants are requested to report to the Mission Hall to check the final rankings and claim their rewards.]
[Please bring your identification token for verification.]
Ethan read through the message. The challenge had ended yesterday, so it made sense that the academy was ready to announce the results.
He picked up his token and put it in his pocket.
Just then, his stomach rumbled.
Ethan hadn’t eaten since two days ago, and the thought of food suddenly became much more appealing. He would grab something to eat before heading to the Mission Hall.
There was just one thing he wanted to take care of first.
His third legion.
Ethan left the dormitory and headed to the open ground nearby.
His room was too small to summon a hundred legion members, so he found a clear patch of ground before opening his status panel.
[Legion Summoner (EX)]
[Legion Capacity: 40,600]
[Third Legion: Available]
[Summoning Requirements: Met]
Ethan selected the summoning option.
[Third Legion Summoning Initiated!]
[Searching for a compatible legion...]
A formation appeared beneath his feet. Its markings lit up one after another as streaks of lightning ran across the ground.
[Compatible Legion Found.]
[Storm Archer Legion]
[Recruitment Available.]
Ethan accepted.
[Recruitment Confirmed.]
[Summoning Storm Archer Legion...]
Lightning flashed through the formation. A hundred figures appeared within it, all women with long silver hair and pale blue eyes. They wore lightweight armor with silver and blue accents, and each carried a bow.
Ethan looked them over with interest.
This was his first legion made up of human-like beings. The Shadow Wraiths were little more than living shadows, while the Solar Elementals looked like a mix of fire and rock. These women, on the other hand, looked almost human.
There was just one thing he hadn’t expected.
They were all female.
Ethan stepped closer. All hundred women turned their eyes toward him, waiting silently.
"Can you understand me?"
None of them answered.
"Can you speak?"
Still nothing. They continued watching him without making a sound.
Ethan gave up for now and opened his profession panel. The information about his new legion should be there.
[Third Legion: Storm Archer Legion]
[Members: 100]
[Legion Trait: Lightning Affinity]
[Storm Archers possess a natural affinity for lightning, allowing them to control and use lightning energy.]
[Legion Skills]
[Arrow Manifestation]
[Creates an arrow made of lightning whenever the user draws their bow.]
[Lock On]
[Locks onto a target, greatly improving the accuracy of attacks and making them harder to evade.]
[Divine Skill: Mark of Certainty]
[Allows Ethan to mark any designated target. Once marked, attacks launched by his legions will cross space to reach the target, ignoring ordinary distance, trajectory, and evasive movement.]
[No continued concentration is required after activation.]
Ethan’s attention settled on the two legion skills first.
Arrow Manifestation meant the women never needed to carry arrows. As long as they had their bows, they could create their own ammunition.
He decided to test it.
"Draw your bows and fire at that target."
One of the Storm Marksmen stepped forward. As she pulled back her bowstring, lightning gathered between her fingers and formed an arrow. She released it, sending the arrow straight into a wooden target with a sharp crack.
Ethan glanced at the empty space on her back where a quiver would normally be.
Useful. They wouldn’t have to worry about running out of arrows.
Next, he looked at Lock On.
A small bird flew across the open ground, heading toward a nearby tree.
"Lock on to that bird and fire."
The Storm Archer raised her bow. Her pale blue eyes glowed faintly as she tracked the moving bird.
She released the arrow.
Instead of flying straight toward where the bird had been, the lightning arrow curved through the air, following its movement. A moment later, it struck the bird before it could reach the tree.
Ethan watched the arrow disappear in a flash of light.
Both skills were straightforward, but Lock On could make a real difference against fast-moving enemies. He didn’t need to test them any further for now.
Ethan took another look at Mark of Certainty.
The skill allowed him to mark a target and make his attacks cross space to reach it, ignoring distance, trajectory, and evasive movement. He wouldn’t even need to keep concentrating after activating it.
He was curious to see how it worked, but there was no need to test it right now. He had something else to deal with first.
The Blood Monarch had destroyed most of his Shadow Wraiths and Solar Elementals in the Bat Cave. Only a few hundred members of each legion had survived.
With a total capacity of 40,600 and three legions to maintain, Ethan decided to divide the space as evenly as possible.
He allocated 13,533 slots to the Shadow Wraith Legion, another 13,533 to the Solar Elemental Legion, and the remaining 13,534 to the Storm Archer Legion.
Since he still had a few hundred Shadow Wraiths and Solar Elementals, he only needed to summon enough new members to fill the empty slots. The Storm Archers already had a hundred members, so he would add the rest to their ranks.
Ethan started with the Shadow Wraiths.
A summoning formation appeared on the ground, its markings glowing as the first new Shadow Wraith emerged. More followed, one after another. Ethan sent each group into his Legion Space and continued summoning until the legion reached its assigned limit.
He repeated the process with the Solar Elementals, then moved on to the Storm Archers.
Several minutes later, he had filled the remaining spaces in all three legions.
[Legion Capacity: 40,600/40,600]
Satisfied, he dismissed the formation and headed to get something to eat.
