"Pull half of our forces from the northern sector over here."

Qiansha’s expression was grim as he ordered Captain Alang.

"Yes, sir!"

Captain Alang immediately carried out Qiansha’s order.

Soldiers rushed over from the north, one after another, to help intercept the Blood Breath Beasts attacking from the south.

The pressure eased slightly.

But before anyone could breathe a sigh of relief, an earth-shattering roar echoed from the distance.

Long Ming and the others looked up, stunned.

Crawling over the southern peak was a Mutated Lord-Level creature, Felim. It was a gargantuan, twenty-meter-tall spider with sixteen eyes, twelve long, segmented legs, and a body covered in red pustules.

"Fuck me, you’ve got to be kidding!"

"A Mutated Lord Level Blood Breath Beast."

Jing Chuan and the others scanned it with their wristbands, and its basic information popped up on their displays.

Long Ming’s heart sank. ’Just what we needed.’

"Damn it!"

Qiansha cursed, grinding his teeth at the sight of Felim.

Then, a scene of even greater despair unfolded.

Trailing behind Felim was a black tide of Blood Breath Spiders, too numerous to count.

"Blood Breath Spiders!"

Qian Hai exclaimed, his face instantly paling.

Fear crept onto the faces of Long Ming and the others as they watched the spiders. The regular Blood Breath Beasts struggled to scale the walls, but these Blood Breath Spiders could climb right up.

"We’re done for!"

Seeing this, the defending soldiers were filled with despair.

"Lord Qiansha, what now? That Mutated Lord is leading a massive swarm of Blood Breath Spiders right for us! We’ve already lost nearly half our forces, and we’re down to just over two thousand men. At this rate, forget surviving for three days—we won’t even make it to dawn!"

Captain Alang asked Qiansha, his voice fraught with panic.

Hearing Captain Alang’s report, Qiansha clenched his left fist so tightly his knuckles cracked. He asked through gritted teeth,

"What’s the status of the equipment repairs?"

"Not good. It’s going slower than anticipated."

Qian Luobing replied, her voice icy.

At these words, Long Ming and the others fell silent.

’There’s no way we can hold out in this situation.’

"Everyone, listen up! We fight to the death! No one retreats!"

Qiansha roared, veins bulging on his forehead.

"Yes, sir!"

Mustering their remaining strength, everyone rallied their spirits.

"Concentrate your fire!"

Qiansha commanded.

The soldiers turned their weapons and opened fire on the approaching Felim.

BANG! BANG!

Rockets and a hail of bullets slammed into Felim, blasting craters in its body.

Enraged, Felim opened its mouth, a dark red light gathering within.

"Look out! Scatter!"

Qiansha and his men immediately scattered.

FZZZZT!

Felim unleashed the built-up energy as a dark red beam.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted, and a dozen soldiers who couldn’t get out of the way in time were blown to pieces.

"So powerful!"

Long Ming gasped.

This Mutated Lord wasn’t as intelligent as Fakamo, and it lacked that one’s insane regenerative abilities, but its destructive power was staggering.

Felim let out another roar.

Countless Blood Breath Spiders surged forward, swarming swiftly up the walls toward the soldiers.

Steeling themselves, Long Ming and the others charged forward, wielding their weapons to cut down one Blood Breath Spider after another.

Soldiers were being tackled by the spiders, torn apart by their frenzied bites.

"AHHHH!"

Screams of agony echoed from all sides.

Qiansha and his men looked around. Every defensive point had been breached. ’It’s really over this time.’

But just as despair threatened to consume them...

A single ray of light, like that of dusk, pierced the oppressive black clouds and fell upon the platform.

"Could it be?"

Long Ming murmured in confusion.

Just then, a tremendous roar filled the sky.

"Planes!"

Qian Wei looked up at the overcast sky and shouted joyfully.

Hearing this, Long Ming and the others all looked to the sky.

Before they could process what was happening, massive civilian airliners and transport planes began nosediving into the tide of monsters.

BOOM!

Fierce explosions erupted, engulfing huge swathes of the attacking horde and instantly buying the defenders a precious moment of respite.

Then, countless paratroopers began to descend, like a sky full of dandelion seeds.

The paratroopers steered their chutes, descending toward the top of the circular platform.

THUMP!

Two figures plummeted from the sky, landing directly in front of Qiansha and his men.

Qiansha looked on, his heart pounding with excitement.

The two figures were unidentifiable at first.

One wore heavy, black, second-generation exoskeleton armor, while the other was clad in an azure, second-generation suit.

They both reached up and removed their helmets in unison.

The man on the left, in the heavy black armor, had a rugged face, a vicious scar cutting across his left eye, and the eyes of a beast.

The man on the right, in the azure suit, had golden hair, handsome features, and deep, profound eyes.

"Brubo! Agaka!"

Qiansha exclaimed in surprise.

They were none other than Brubo, Legion Commander of the Sinful City’s First Legion, and Agaka, Legion Commander of Star Tower’s First Legion.

They both greeted Qiansha.

"Qiansha, long time no see."

"I can’t believe you actually came! I thought you’d all chickened out!"

A wide, excited grin spread across Qiansha’s face.

"Chicken out? No way. If it weren’t for those indecisive elders from Star Tower, we would’ve been here sooner."

Agaka said with a cynical laugh.

"Exactly. I don’t know what they were thinking. Better to risk it all on one big gamble than to hole up in the city and wait to die!"

Brubo added, his voice grim.

"So how did you end up convincing them?"

Qiansha asked, confused.

"That’s not important right now. Just have your men cover our troops’ landing. We’ll fight these monsters together."

Agaka replied with a smile.

’He couldn’t very well tell Qiansha that both their cities had planted informants among his troops.’

’The informants had reported back that the climate control device at this base was ninety-five percent complete and had a very high chance of being repaired.’

"Alright then! Cover the landing for the troops from Sinful City and Star Tower!"

Without pressing further, Qiansha roared the order to his men.

"Yes, sir!"

Everyone roared back in excitement as they laid down covering fire.

As the paratroopers from the two cities drifted over the base, they cut their chute lines, dropping down to quickly join the fight and clear out the Blood Breath Spiders that had scaled the walls.

However, the wind blew some of the paratroopers off course, causing them to miss the top of the base.

Some landed near the base, while others fell directly into the remaining monster horde.

Jing Chuan and his comrades provided covering fire for the paratroopers who landed nearby, throwing down ropes to haul them up.

As for the soldiers who landed far out in the monster horde, there was nothing anyone could do. They could only watch as the soldiers were engulfed by Blood Breath Beasts, detonating their explosives to take their enemies with them.

The transport planes, having deployed their paratroopers, did not turn back. Instead, they all plunged toward the gathering monster horde in suicide attacks.
