Chapter 2286 - 2289: Doomsday Arrives Three Days Later (Fifth Update)

Hearing Gong Ziyi's words, the old man furrowed his brows in surprise and said, "Young Master, I admit that Song Weiyin is indeed an extraordinary beauty, and I know you truly love her. But have you thought about it? If you really give up everything just for her, it's very noble, but what about the results? Will Song Weiyin really fall in love with you because of that?"

Gong Ziyi smiled slightly and said, "Song Weiyin's dream is to go to an undisturbed paradise with her beloved, but unfortunately, neither Shen Qiang nor I can give up everything we have now."

The old man furrowed his brows and said urgently, "Young Master, since you already know all this, how can you still let yourself be led by the nose foolishly?"

Gong Ziyi smiled slightly, "Shen Qiang is a respectable opponent but also a despicable scum. He uses every means to torment me and throws countless dilemmas my way to choose from. If I were a simple-minded person, I would choose to both retaliate against Heshenghe and foolishly try to earn the impossible affection of Song Weiyin, winning the battlefield but losing in love."

"And if I were someone who would do anything for love, I would flex my muscles to intimidate those bounty hunters who want to kill Song Weiyin and use my influence to pressure the bounty hunter platform to cancel the bounty on Song Weiyin."

Looking at the old man, Gong Ziyi smiled and said, "And if I were a hypocrite with selfish motives, I would take the opportunity to get close to Song Weiyin, let the pursuit continue so I have more time to interact with her, and then righteously wait for Shen Qiang to come back and challenge him openly, certainly not fighting without a declaration."

"Because at least now, I can use the excuse that my subordinates acted on their own and I was unaware to dodge the issue. Even if they know it was arranged by me, they can do nothing against such an excuse."

The old man furrowed his brows and said urgently, "Young Master, this matter is pivotal, you absolutely must not fall into the trap."

"I already have." Gong Ziyi smiled, "Shen Qiang understands me; he knows I truly love Song Weiyin. I have no choice. Even knowing it's a trap, I have to go on. But in this world, no scheme is truly flawless or perfect."

The old man was taken aback, "Young Master, I don't understand what you're saying."

"In previous encounters, I lost because I didn't understand Shen Qiang enough and didn't seriously consider human nature. But now it's different. Shen Qiang has already taught me what a real trap is, so I won't lose again." Gong Ziyi smiled.

"What do you mean?" the old man asked curiously.

Gong Ziyi smiled, stretched out his hand to indicate pouring wine, and then picked up the wine glass. Gong Ziyi smiled and said, "Shen Qiang has got me figured out very precisely, but he committed a fatal error, which is that this scheme, sufficient to torment me until my brain explodes, neglects Song Weiyin."

The old man asked in surprise, "Young Master, what do you mean by that?"

"Song Weiyin is a shining film queen, but at heart, she's a simple woman yearning for a carefree, undisturbed life without acting, free to do as she wishes. Her temperament is gentle, a bit stubborn. Even if she appears independent, in reality, she prefers to follow others' arrangements."

Gong Ziyi smiled, "Hearing this, what do you think of Song Weiyin?"

"Just an ordinary and kind woman beneath the film queen aura, that's all," the old man said.

Gong Ziyi smiled, "This is the weakness, the flaw, and the blunder in Shen Qiang's plan. A kind woman is always easily moved, that is to say, no matter how much she likes Shen Qiang, she might be moved by someone else."

Looking at the astonished old man, Gong Ziyi said, "It doesn't have to be love, but it may be approval, empathy, or even sympathy."

The old man furrowed his brows and said, "Young Master, your words are becoming more profound, and I'm finding them harder to understand."

"Three days," Gong Ziyi said. "In a crisis, three days is enough to change a person's attitude towards another person. Just like this morning, Song Weiyin unusually asked me if I wanted to have breakfast with her. It was something she would never have asked before."

The old man furrowed his brows and said, "Could this be arranged by Shen Qiang?"

"Shen Qiang hasn't sunk so low as to make his own girlfriend use the Beauty Trap on me," Gong Ziyi said. "Even if Shen Qiang wanted to, Song Weiyin wouldn't agree. She just feels a bit guilty. Maybe she thought of something, or maybe it's simply because I took a sword to protect her."

The old man furrowed his brows and said, "I don't understand what you mean."

"Women often lack rationality, and a seemingly reasonable reason can let them drop their psychological defenses," Gong Ziyi said. "Just like when many men say to women, we'll just lie in bed for a while, I promise I won't do anything, and then, the woman ends up pregnant."

"Are you going to force your way?" the old man was stunned.

Gong Ziyi smiled, "I don't lack women, nor would I do such things. Making Song Weiyin fall in love with me is not something that can be achieved in a day or two. But making her think I'm not a bad person and understand why I must retaliate against Heshenghe, three days is enough."

The old man raised his eyebrows sharply, "You mean to first win Song Weiyin's approval, and then start the revenge?"

"Yes." Gong Ziyi smiled, "Song Weiyin is a strong on the outside but kind and gentle woman on the inside. She can become a film queen because she excels at empathizing with characters in films and dramas, meaning she can easily understand others' actions."

"And this is the biggest flaw in Shen Qiang's plan. As long as Song Weiyin recognizes me, feels sympathy, and understands why I do what I do, that's enough. By that time, even if I launch a ruthless revenge on Heshenghe, I will not be seen as a villain in her eyes."

The old man's eyes lit up, "Pause the action for a couple of days, then continue to get close to Song Weiyin in proximity. A good strategy! Let Shen Qiang end up with nothing!"

Gong Ziyi smiled slightly, "Song Weiyin is a kind yet smart woman. She knows how powerful I am. Within three days, I must try my best to change how she perceives me. As long as she understands me, our counterattack won't cause any unpleasantness between her and me. It's not difficult at all."

"And three days later, while we take our revenge on Heshenghe, I must pressure the Bounty Hunters platform to cancel the bounty on Song Weiyin. If I don't do that, Song Weiyin will always think that I'm using her crisis for my own selfish reasons to get close to her, and she will never really love me, constantly on guard against me."

Looking at the astonished old man, Gong Ziyi smiled, "I now believe that failure leads to growth. Shen Qiang used human nature to set the layout, and I will use human nature to break it. Three days later, I will arrange for action. Song Weiyin won't hate me for it, and with a crucial figure in Heshenghe dead, even if Shen Qiang comes back, it will be hard for him to turn the tide on all fronts. In that case, I win, and he truly loses both the woman and the battle!"

Hearing this, the old man's eyes lit up but suddenly became cautious, "Young Master, you say that Shen Qiang's scheme is so meticulous. Could he have even accounted for Song Weiyin's reactions?"

Gong Ziyi laughed and said, "It's possible, but it doesn't matter to me. As long as Song Weiyin doesn't view me as an enemy, I'll gradually let her see that I'm actually more suitable for her. With Heshenghe's important heads dead, that's my victory. A toothless tiger is no better than a dog. So if all goes well, three days later will be the day Shen Qiang can never recover!"
