"Princess!"

The moment Faye saw her girlfriend standing in front of the open coffin, all the frustration and fear she had endured over the past days seemed to disappear. She was so happy to see her Alpha that she barely gave Princess enough time to react before throwing herself into her arms, hugging her tightly as though she was afraid someone might come along and separate them again.

Princess caught her girlfriend and held her close, wrapping both arms around her while trying to process the fact that she had actually found Faye buried inside a coffin. She had spent the entire day worrying about her whereabouts, imagining all sorts of terrible things that could have happened to her, only to discover that her girlfriend had been trapped underground...

She was relieved to have Faye in her arms again, but that did not mean she had forgotten what had happened.

Meanwhile, Bambi turned towards Kiara, who was struggling to get herself out of the coffin. For a moment, she wondered whether she should leave the girl to figure things out on her own or offer a helping hand. Considering that Kiara was her ex, Bambi was not particularly eager to go out of her way for her, but she eventually extended her hand and helped her climb out.

"Thank you," Kiara said before immediately checking her clothes and inspecting her nails, as though those were the most important things she needed to worry about after spending hours trapped inside a coffin.

Bambi rolled her eyes at the sight and walked away to check on Faye instead.

"Are you okay, Faye?" she asked, looking her sire over to make sure she wasn’t hurt.

"Yes, I am now. My girlfriend has returned," Faye replied happily, still hugging her Alpha and showing no intention of letting go anytime soon.

"Are you sure that is your girlfriend? You might be hugging an imposter posing as Princess," Kiara remarked, watching the couple with suspicion.

Princess finally lifted her head and gave the girl an unimpressed look.

"It’s me, Kiara. Who else would you think I would be?"

"I’m not sure. The Princess I know can’t stand a graveyard," Kiara replied, glancing around at their surroundings.

Princess followed her gaze, and for a moment, she was reminded of what she had just done. She had never been comfortable in graveyards, and the thought of digging through the earth to uncover a coffin was enough to make her skin crawl. Yet, when she realised that Faye’s life might be in danger, none of those fears had mattered.

For Faye, Princess would forget about her own fears without hesitation. She had proved that to herself once again, although she was not particularly pleased about the circumstances that had forced her to do so.

"I am the real Princess Kings, and can someone explain to me why my Faye was buried inside a coffin?" she demanded, her attention shifting between the two girls.

She wanted answers, and she wanted them immediately. There was no way she would let Silviana get away with burying her girlfriend underground, especially after everything she had endured while trying to find her.

"Should we all just get out of here first before something bad happens?" Kiara suggested.

She looked up at the sky and noticed that darkness was beginning to settle over the graveyard. Although they had managed to escape the coffin, she knew their troubles were far from over. Silviana was not the kind of person who would abandon her plans simply because someone had interfered, and Kiara had a feeling that whatever came next would be even worse.

"Let’s get out of here, Princess," Faye said, finally pulling away from her girlfriend’s embrace.

Princess was beginning to feel self-conscious about their surroundings. She still could not believe she had actually dug up a grave, and although she was relieved to have found Faye, her anger towards Silviana was growing by the minute. She wanted to know why the woman had buried her girlfriend alongside Kiara, and she had every intention of getting an explanation.

For now, however, getting Faye somewhere safe was more important.

"Come on, let’s get you home," Princess said, taking her girlfriend’s hand.

She had barely taken a step when her legs suddenly gave way beneath her. Princess collapsed to the ground, falling unconscious before Faye could understand what was happening.

Bambi was next. The Beta barely had time to react before she, too, lost consciousness and fell to the ground beside them.

"W-what... what is happening?" Faye muttered, her eyes darting between her unconscious girlfriend and Beta.

Only moments ago, she had finally been reunited with Princess, and now both Princess and Bambi were lying motionless on the ground. Faye stared at them in confusion, desperately trying to understand what had happened.

"See... I knew it," Kiara muttered.

Before Faye could question her, everything around her seemed to change.

She suddenly found herself sitting on a chair, her hands bound with silver chains wrapped tightly around her wrists. More chains secured her legs to the chair, preventing her from moving even an inch.

"What the fuck..." Faye groaned.

The silver chains slowly began burning her skin, and she winced at the painful sensation, struggling against the restraints even though she knew it was useless. She looked around, trying to figure out where she was and how she had ended up there.

Her eyes eventually settled on an altar.

Kiara was lying unconscious on top of it, her body completely still, as though she had been placed there for a ritual. Standing beside the altar was Jackie, who was busy mumbling strange incantations that Faye could not understand.

"Don’t worry. It’s going to be over very soon..." someone assured her.

Faye turned towards the voice and spotted Silviana sitting on a pew beside her. A young girl with striking black hair was seated next to the woman, watching the proceedings without saying a word.

Faye stared at them, and the pieces slowly began falling into place.

She understood what they were trying to do. They wanted to remove the Demon from Kiara, but one question continued to bother her.

Why on earth was she involved in their ritual?
