From Wizard Apprentice to Conqueror of Myriad Worlds
Chapter 342 - 46: Epoch-making Weapon
Chapter 342: Chapter 46: Epoch-making Weapon
When Mo Ning walked out of his bedroom, he saw the two young women diligently poring over the manuscript he had written on Magic Pattern Study.
He couldn’t help but smile.
In every respect, Anya and Reina were excellent teammates.
Magic Pattern Study was a difficult subject, and not many Apprentices were willing to learn it.
Third Level Apprentice Instructor Lola’s classes were proof of this; attendance for each session was a mere thirty-odd people.
In contrast, a popular course like Magic Potion Study could have as many as 200 students registered. The disparity was immense.
So when the two of them realized he intended to make Magic Pattern Study his primary focus, they began to proactively learn the subject without him even having to ask.
"Good morning, Mo Ning!"
"Good morning, dear Mr. Mo Ning!"
The first greeting came from Reina, the second from Anya.
Their two joyous greetings instantly dispelled the last traces of sluggishness from Mo Ning’s mind.
Their joy was sparked simply by the sight of him.
This feeling of being so trusted and cared for felt wonderful to Mo Ning, bringing a faint smile to his lips.
"Good morning!"
He replied, then casually laid out a new plan for their training:
"After you finish studying each day, you can write a summary. Briefly note what you’ve learned, any insights you’ve had, and include any questions that came up.
"I’ll read your summaries, offer some helpful suggestions, and answer any questions you have about your studies."
This was a more refined form of training.
Mo Ning planned to personally guide his teammates on how to learn more efficiently, rather than letting them wander aimlessly through unknown territory.
There was another benefit to this—he could mold Anya and Reina into the exact kind of assets he needed.
’Hmm, perhaps a more accurate term would be "qualified workhorses."’
’Instead of letting them develop freely and end up turning into something completely unexpected.’
’Besides, this would only take him two minutes a day. It was hardly any trouble at all.’
’So why not?’
"Okay!"
"Understood!"
The two lovely faces, each with its own unique charm, broke into beautiful smiles.
Mo Ning glanced over and felt the Noble Lady’s face and figure were becoming more and more captivating.
’She was like an unripe fruit that was gradually maturing, her flavor growing sweeter.’
This thought made certain urges he had suppressed for four days spring back forcefully, like a long-coiled spring suddenly released.
But Mo Ning immediately suppressed them again.
Because now was not the time for training.
He announced the day’s plan. "After breakfast, we’ll start testing the practical combat capabilities of the Rotor Puppets and see if there are any design flaws."
Mo Ning gestured toward the door. "Our targets for this test will be the twelve Monster Tribes I located recently."
His next words were laced with killing intent. "Today, we’re wiping them all out."
*****
「Half an hour later.」
The Triangular Wing, carrying the three of them, landed silently in a dense, colorful autumn forest.
The cockpit of The Aviator had an expansion feature, allowing it to fold outward to create more interior space.
But the Triangular Wing itself was only so large, so even with the expansion, the cockpit couldn’t get much bigger.
Mo Ning sat in the central pilot’s seat, and with three people crammed inside, it was inevitable that they would be pressed up against one another.
Anya didn’t mind, as she and Mo Ning had been intimate several times before.
Reina, however, was blushing so hard her fair face seemed on the verge of letting off steam.
PHEW—
The moment they landed, the Dazed Girl let out a long breath, yet for some reason, she felt a little wistful.
Mo Ning immediately took three silver-white cubes from his Space Bracelet and activated a ring on his left hand.
The ring was set with a [Mind Crystal] the size of a pigeon’s egg, and it served as the controller for the Rotor Puppets.
He had given it a name: the [Mind Soarer].
This wasn’t a name chosen at random.
Mo Ning gazed at the ring, a slight smile touching his lips.
Its control mechanism was based on a revolutionary theory, completely different from how ordinary puppets were controlled. It was enough to write a major thesis on and pioneer an entirely new field of puppet control.
He had originally thought it would take at least half a month to solve the problem of controlling the Rotor Puppets with a Crystal.
But after waking from the Meditation World, a brilliant spark of inspiration had ignited in his mind. Like a powerful catalyst, it led him to an unprecedented solution, allowing him to solve the critical problem with astonishing speed.
"CLICK— CLICK—"
A series of mechanical sounds rang out as the three silver-white cubes rapidly unfolded into three Rotor Puppets.
The very reason he had racked his brain to design them to be foldable into cubes was to maximize the number he could carry.
A fully deployed Rotor Puppet took up the same amount of space as twenty of the silver-white cubes.
Although this significantly increased the design’s complexity and production cost, it was an essential feature.
’Because—war.’
’On a chaotic battlefield, the more Rotor Puppets an Apprentice carried, the more powerful they would be.’
’Even if he had cut corners and skipped the folding design, a Wizard like Hede would have eventually figured it out and taken a huge share of the credit.’
’So why give up the rewards and let some other Wizard benefit for free?’
"Anya, spray the Rotor Puppets with some [Phantom Spray]!"
Mo Ning instructed.
He had used this so-called "spray" once before, during the second general assessment.
