Chapter 321: Chapter 39: An Astonishing Combat Method, Hypersonic Strike (2)
Flower also explained, "The Tracking Mirror can alter the Magic Power spectrum, which is how it can detect invisible targets."
The two girls quietly revised their opinion of Artificial Souls.
Though they didn’t know Flower was the creation of a Third Level Lord Wizard, they still realized she was an extraordinary being.
Soon, Flower offered another series of analyses:
"Based on my precise analysis of the Magic Power fluctuations around Mr. Mo Ning, the Floating Technique he’s using has a Floating Effect that’s 24% stronger than the standard Witchcraft Model. Meanwhile, its Magic Power consumption is 18% lower. This greatly extends the duration to at least fourteen minutes."
The Artificial Soul praised him generously, "It seems Mr. Mo Ning’s optimization of the Witchcraft Model is outstanding, far surpassing the level of an ordinary Apprentice."
The two girls glanced at each other, both reading the same thought in the other’s eyes: ’Is he really that good?’
A minute later, Flower, like the most outstanding commentator, offered another assessment:
"Mr. Mo Ning has circled this area three times. He has most likely found his target and is preparing to attack."
A hint of anticipation crept into the Artificial Soul’s voice. "I wonder what kind of attack Mr. Mo Ning plans to use."
The words had barely left her mouth when The Aviator’s nose suddenly dipped more than 45 degrees. Its tail jutted high as it dove rapidly toward the ground below.
The two girls’ eyes widened, and they stared without blinking.
Seen through the mirror’s special Magic Power perspective, a strange, spiraling airflow appeared around the Triangular Wing.
Anya couldn’t help but ask, "Why is the Magic Power flowing in that shape?"
Flower answered readily, "This is an application of the ’Maiduo Circulatory Flow Equation.’ It can effectively reduce fluidic resistance and greatly minimize noise from turbulence."
She couldn’t resist adding a comment, "Mr. Mo Ning’s design for the circulatory flow is very clever. He’s reduced the air noise to an absolute minimum. Most Third Level Apprentices couldn’t achieve this."
This simple explanation further cemented the image of an all-powerful Mo Ning in the girls’ minds.
They naturally understood that Mo Ning chose this method of reducing air noise to launch a surprise attack from above.
It was clearly a very clever tactic.
Three seconds later, the Triangular Wing entered a ninety-degree vertical dive, moving as fast as lightning.
Even the Tracking Mirror had some trouble keeping up with the speed, and the image began to blur.
Just then, a bright red streak of light suddenly detached from the Triangular Wing, plummeting toward a valley below at a speed even more astonishing than a lightning strike.
The streak appeared red because of the Magic Power perspective; in reality, its physical form was also invisible.
Flower instantly saw through the entire Mystery of this strike and couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration, "What a wonderfully imaginative tactic!"
The two girls were impressed, even if they didn’t understand the specifics.
They understood that the red streak of light was incredibly powerful, but they were fuzzy on the details.
Immediately after, the image in the Tracking Mirror suddenly jumped.
The mirror now showed a massive, dark figure covered in what looked like a layer of Rock Armor. It was lying on the ground, seemingly at rest.
Reina took one look and blurted out, "A Giant!"
Among the many monsters of the wilds, if Apprentices were to make a list of "Monsters I’d Least Like to Face," Giants would surely be on it.
Their defense was extremely high, and they possessed shocking regenerative abilities.
Even if you chopped off a limb, as long as the severed part was reattached, it would quickly heal as if new.
Moreover, thanks to the frenzied modifications of the Ancient Wizards, Giants had spawned many more powerful subspecies. The original Giants, in contrast, had become very rare.
Flower corrected her, "This is a Steel Rock Giant."
Among the many Giant subspecies, the Steel Rock Giant’s defense ranks near the top. The "Steel Rock" part of its name means its Rock Armor is as tough as steel.
The next second, on the screen, the Giant shuddered violently, and its boulder-like head exploded with a BOOM.
This was obviously Mo Ning’s attack.
It was so fast the naked eye couldn’t track it. It looked as if the Giant’s head had just exploded on its own.
The two girls were dumbfounded.
This powerful Giant—a creature that even a Second Level Apprentice would have to flee from, and that a Third Level Apprentice would struggle to kill—had been grievously wounded by Mo Ning in a single blow.
That’s right.
Although the monster’s head had been blown off, for a Giant, this was only a serious injury.
Given enough time—about a day—its head would grow back, and it wouldn’t even lose many of its memories.
It possessed a very special mechanism that allowed it to retrieve memories stored in its destroyed brain.
But Mo Ning wasn’t about to give the Giant that chance.
Original Giants feared strong acids and fire. Although Giant subspecies had been enhanced with increased resistance to both, this weakness could not be completely eliminated.
WHOOSH—
Fierce, crimson flames erupted from the point of impact, covering a two-meter radius.
The Giant was over four meters long, so only the upper half of its body was enveloped in the flames.
Tendrils of flesh continuously sprouted from its neck, desperately trying to repair the head.
However, the Magic Flames were incredibly hot. They instantly seared the tendrils to ash, and the heat penetrated deep into the neck, burning the flesh and blood to charcoal.
Without the protection of its Rock Armor, the Giant’s insides proved to be fragile.
After a stalemate of several seconds, no more fleshy tendrils emerged. This meant the Giant’s regenerative ability had been suppressed, and its body fell into a deep slumber.
