Chapter 317: Chapter 38: New Research Field: Qi and Blood Witchcraft, Mo Ning’s Debut at the Arbitration Court, Corruption Mark

Anya smiled charmingly, sharing a bit of her insight. "There are some positions that, if I don’t take the initiative to occupy them, others will surely snatch them first. So even if there isn’t an opportunity, I’ll try to create one."

Reina understood what she meant.

’Create an opportunity? Does she mean by teaching the Qi and Blood Secret Technique?’

The Dazed Girl’s heart was filled with admiration, but even more so with envy. "Miss Anya, you’re so clever!"

Reina suppressed her envy and shared another piece of news. "Oh, right, just before I came over, Sitt successfully condensed his first Spirit Ring. I heard he was randomly assigned to No. 44 Apprentice Town."

She paused for a moment, then mentioned the impact of this event. "But not many people in the Battle Banner Legion are talking about Sitt’s promotion."

After the sixth general assessment ended, the Battle Banner Legion had not disbanded and remained a tightly organized group.

Anya just said, "Oh."

Like most of the other newcomers from her batch, she had long stopped paying attention to Sitt, treating him as a stranger.

The Noble Lady was more concerned about something else:

"Mo Ning’s No. 43 Apprentice Town and No. 44 Apprentice Town happen to be rival towns for competitions. They hold an ’Apprentice Competition’ once a year.

"If we get a chance to enter No. 43 Apprentice Town, we might see Sitt again."

Reina had heard about the Apprentice Competition from her teacher, Buck, and nodded upon hearing this. "I think this year’s Apprentice Competition is coming up soon."

Anya grunted in agreement. "In about two more months."

The so-called "Apprentice Competition" was a large-scale confrontation between apprentices from two Apprentice Towns, conducted in a manner that closely simulated real combat.

The competition usually had two formats: a solo challenge and a team challenge. The winners of both events would receive generous rewards from the academy.

Reina sounded a bit regretful. "It’s a shame Mo Ning just condensed his first Spirit Ring not long ago. He doesn’t have much time to prepare."

It wasn’t surprising that she reached such a conclusion.

It was not uncommon for apprentices to have stayed in an Apprentice Town for ten or even twenty years. These long years allowed them to accumulate much greater strength, making it naturally difficult for newly promoted apprentices to compete with these veterans.

The Dazed Girl’s tone shifted. "But I think in next year’s Apprentice Competition, he’ll definitely be able to achieve some brilliant results."

Anya smiled beautifully, but she had a different opinion on the matter. "Perhaps Mo Ning can work a miracle. He might have a chance to enter the top ten in one of the events."

Reina was a little surprised.

Anya parted her red lips and revealed a secret. "A genius’s abilities are far beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Yesterday, I personally witnessed Mo Ning master a Level Zero Witchcraft in just two hours."

The Noble Lady had not only witnessed it but had also experienced that Level Zero Witchcraft firsthand, though the details were rather inconvenient to describe.

At the time, she was in her most primal state. Mo Ning had cast the Air Shield Technique to gently lift her up, using Magic Power fluctuations to create rhythmic waves of air—the feeling, as if she were tumbling in the surf, had left a deep impression on her.

It was the first time she realized a Level Zero Witchcraft could be used for something like that.

The Dazed Girl’s jaw dropped.

The complexity of a Level Zero Witchcraft far surpassed that of a Trick. For her, this was another incredibly shocking fact.

「Newcomer Dormitory Area No. 76.」

Sitt stood inside his apartment, listening to the commotion in the plaza outside through a crack he had deliberately left in the door.

He had already packed his few belongings and was preparing to head to No. 44 Apprentice Town, following the instructions sent by his Guiding Ring.

Sitt listened for a while, then suddenly let out a sigh.

He remembered it very clearly. When Mo Ning was about to leave for the Apprentice Town, a large crowd of newcomers had gathered in the plaza, buzzing with discussion. It was like a ritual of "subjects gathering to see off their King."

When Mo Ning left, someone had even shouted, "The light on Apartment 804’s door plate is out!"

A door plate light going out meant the apartment had become vacant, and more importantly, that Mo Ning had left the Newcomer Dormitory Area.

But now, there was hardly anyone in the small plaza, and not a single person was discussing his promotion.

This gave Sitt the awful feeling of being "completely forgotten by everyone."

’I am a powerful First Level Apprentice, while you’re just newcomers without even a Spirit Ring. It’s not even certain if you’ll be able to stay at the academy—what right do you have to ignore me?’

He roared inwardly.

Sitt subconsciously pictured Princess Phoebe’s face and cursed inwardly, ’Damn bitch!’

He had once trusted Princess Phoebe completely, but she was the first to betray him, turning him into a laughingstock for everyone.

Sitt stood there blankly for a long while before finally grabbing his suitcase and walking out of his apartment, ready to head for the Apprentice’s Gate.

The so-called "Apprentice’s Gate" was a portal that had suddenly appeared in the Mysterious Secret Hall of the Quiet Forest the day after Mo Ning left.

Only the person who claimed the title of "First to Condense a Spirit Ring" enjoyed the privilege of being "teleported directly from their apartment to the Apprentice Town." Everyone else had to go through the Apprentice’s Gate.

Sitt had always felt that the honor should have been his, but someone had taken advantage of his carelessness and snatched it away.

He first walked to a postbox next to the small plaza and spent 1 Black Tower Point to mail his suitcase.

Carrying luggage would give off the impression of "packing up and getting kicked out," and he wanted to walk through the Apprentice’s Gate with his head held high in front of everyone.

Sitt strode across the small plaza, followed the Secluded Path into the Secret Hall, and walked straight toward the Apprentice’s Gate.

He continuously watched every passing newcomer out of the corner of his eye, desperate to see looks of envy and jealousy on their faces.
