Chapter 475: Chapter 238: More Valuable Than Gold?

He even pulled his phone from his pocket, opened the camera app, and admired his handsome face. After scrutinizing his reflection for a moment, he muttered, "Team Leader Li has probably seen too many movies. He’s gone and made himself paranoid."

Xiao Chen, who was standing to the side, was stunned by this display. He’d never realized Su Chen could be so flamboyant. "Alright, stop looking," he said with a smile. "Go ahead and arrange their trip back. No need to keep Team Leader Li and his men on pins and needles."

At Xiao Chen’s words, Su Chen immediately called Chen Fei. He told him the exploration team was heading home and instructed him to have the private jet’s pilot coordinate with the airport tower for takeoff.

Once everything was arranged, Su Chen’s expression grew serious. "Brother Cheen, I’m going to put the gold mine on hold for now. First, I’ll acquire a mining company here in Russia. And since we can establish private mercenary organizations here, I’ll set up a security company while I’m at it. We’ll start the actual work only after all the preliminary preparations are complete!"

Even with all the permits and paperwork, mining gold or rubidium isn’t as simple as one might imagine. Personnel and equipment are major issues, and the preliminary work alone would take a considerable amount of time.

Besides, mineral extraction isn’t something you can do overnight—these things are measured in years. It’s far better to proceed step by step and plan things out meticulously than to rush in and have to plug holes later!

"This definitely needs to be thought out for the long haul. You’ll have to arrange the people for the company acquisition yourself. As for personnel for the security company, I’ll help you figure that out." A flash of approval appeared in Xiao Chen’s eyes. It was truly rare that Su Chen hadn’t been blinded by the enormous profits right in front of him.

’Anyone else would have probably already gathered a crew and started aggressively mining the gold in the river basin.’

...

When the exploration team returned, they all came to see Su Chen and Xiao Chen. Su Chen didn’t waste words. He simply got Team Leader Li’s bank account number and transferred ten million to him right in front of everyone.

How the money was divided was none of Su Chen’s business, but he believed that Li Sihai, as the leader, wouldn’t dare take the lion’s share for himself. If someone got reckless and leaked a secret, no one in the group would get away, and Li Sihai was smart enough to know which was more important.

After watching the elated exploration team climb into their vehicles, Su Chen and Xiao Chen turned and headed back toward the villa.

Just as they reached the villa’s entrance, they were stopped by a loud, booming voice.

"BOSS!"

Ivan and a dozen or so patrolmen came walking in through the ranch’s back gate, carrying two black bears.

"BOSS! What should we do with these two bears?"

Seeing the two black bears, which together weighed over fifteen hundred pounds, put Su Chen in a bit of a bind. They hadn’t even finished the brown bear he’d hunted before, and now two bigger ones had shown up.

You couldn’t let meat like this sit for too long, or it would spoil.

After a moment of thought, Su Chen had an idea. "Have all the patrolmen at the camp come back. There’s no need for a permanent post there for the time being. We’ll just arrange for daily patrols from now on!"

"We’re having a bonfire party tonight. Let everyone really celebrate. Get all the alcohol and drinks ready, and if we don’t have enough, send someone to town to buy more."

"As for the leftover bear meat..." Su Chen paused, then continued, "Have it all made into jerky. Oh, and get that chef from before to prepare these bear paws. He did an excellent job last time!"

Ivan was a little surprised to hear the order to pull all the patrolmen back from the camp, but then he recalled that the exploration team his boss had hired had already left. He guessed something must be up.

"Understood, BOSS! I’ll get right on it!" By now, Ivan had a simple creed: follow Su Chen. As long as he completed the tasks his boss assigned, everything else was not his problem.

Ivan efficiently had his men carry the two black bears away. Watching Ivan’s burly back, Xiao Chen remarked with a smile, "Looks like that Ivan is a capable man."

Su Chen gave a slight nod. "He’s capable, no doubt. But I’ll need to watch him more to see if he’s someone we can really use."

With that, he turned and went back inside. Xiao Chen watched him go, then his gaze shifted back toward Ivan’s direction. His eyes narrowed slightly before he, too, followed Su Chen into the villa.
