Chapter 446: Chapter 229: I Believe Him
The next day was bright and sunny!
Three white SUVs sped along the road to Listvyanka Town.
"Judging by the look of you, you must’ve had quite a workout last night!" Xiao Chen said, teasing Su Chen, who was slouched in the back seat with a weary expression.
The night before, Su Chen’s group had finished drinking around nine and returned to their hotel. The two beautiful women had naturally followed Su Chen back, their forwardness catching him a little off guard.
"Sigh... It’s a long story," Su Chen said with a wry smile. ’A workout? That doesn’t even begin to cover it. It was practically murder.’
They say women from Bear Country are particularly uninhibited. Only after last night’s marathon session did Su Chen realize "uninhibited" was a massive understatement. They were absolutely wild!
Alice and Lilith had taken the lead entirely; Su Chen was just along for the ride. He had truly experienced what a "fully automatic" foreign woman was like.
If it weren’t for his youth and decent stamina, the two of them would have probably wrecked him last night.
Just thinking about last night’s frenzy—and the various "battlefields" like the bathroom, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sofa, and the bathtub—made Su Chen’s back ache.
The strange thing was, when Su Chen woke up in the morning, he found that Alice and Lilith were already gone. The whole situation left him completely baffled.
Neither of them had asked Su Chen for a dime, they had used protection while "playing their games," and they hadn’t said anything about wanting to stay with him. They just up and left, inexplicably, early in the morning.
In the end, Su Chen couldn’t shake his confusion and called Alice to ask what was going on. After a bit of prodding, he learned from her that the two of them had just done it on a whim, seeking a different kind of thrill.
To put it plainly, they had just been looking to play a thrilling game with Su Chen for a night. Once the game was over, they went their separate ways.
Hearing Alice’s explanation, Su Chen knew exactly what had happened. He’d just had an international booty call—a two-for-one deal, at that.
Listvyanka Town is nestled at the confluence of the Angara River and the shores of Lake Baikal, sparkling like a pearl. The town itself isn’t large, with a permanent population of just over two thousand, but it attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year!
It’s considered a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Irkutsk. Located only about seventy kilometers from Irkutsk City, it’s just an hour’s drive away. Alternatively, you can take a train from the city for a scenic tour around the lake, enjoying the views of Lake Baikal from your seat.
It was already past eleven in the morning when Su Chen and his group arrived in the town. The ranch was still about twenty kilometers away, so after a brief discussion with Xiao Chen, they decided to grab lunch in town before heading on.
The town sits right on Lake Baikal, so the local residents primarily make their living from fishing. Naturally, the local cuisine revolves around fish, though various beef and lamb dishes are also available. The most famous local specialties are smoked omul and meat kebabs.
The town wasn’t very big to begin with, having fewer than ten restaurants in total, most of which were simple roadside eateries like you’d find back home. Coupled with the recent influx of tourists, Su Chen and the others had to check seven or eight places before they finally found a less crowded one.
Su Chen’s group didn’t have high hopes for the food. After all, a town this small was unlikely to have any great chefs; even with good ingredients, it would be a waste.
The entire restaurant only had three items on the menu: smoked fish, meat kebabs, and a pilaf-like rice dish.
"Mm, this smoked fish is actually pretty good," Su Chen remarked after taking a bite. Both the flavor and the texture of the fish were excellent.
Xiao Chen, who was in the middle of devouring a kebab, heard Su Chen’s praise and picked up a piece of the fish with his chopsticks. "You’re right, it’s not bad. This must be smoked Baikal omul. The meat wouldn’t be this fresh and tender otherwise."
"Baikal omul? What’s so special about it?" Su Chen looked at the ten-centimeter-or-so fish on his plate but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
"There’s no big secret to it. I’ve just heard that because the water in Lake Baikal is so cold, the Baikal omul grows very slowly. It apparently takes nine years for one to reach just over ten centimeters, which is what makes its meat so delicious."
Then Xiao Chen added, "But that’s just what I’ve heard. I’m not sure about the exact details."
"Who cares what kind of fish it is? As long as it tastes good!" Chen Fei muttered, eyeing the plates of smoked fish in front of Su Chen and Xiao Chen, which they had barely touched.
Hearing this, both Su Chen and Xiao Chen looked over at Chen Fei. Only then did they realize that Chen Fei and their four other companions had already devoured all their fish and kebabs and were now staring eagerly at their plates.
Su Chen was left speechless by the five gluttons. He waved over a busy server and ordered two more portions of smoked fish and kebabs for Chen Fei and the other four.
In total, the group of seven ate fifteen smoked fish and twenty large kebabs. You have to understand, the kebabs here weren’t like the ones back home, where you might get four or five small skewers out of a couple of ounces of meat. These Russian kebabs were massive—each skewer held nearly a pound of meat.
When Su Chen’s group left the restaurant, every one of them was clutching their stomach. They were completely stuffed.
