Chapter 433 -224: Chicken Ribs? No, It’s Very Useful
The lead actress for the movie had been cast in advance, but who knew she’d suddenly demand a higher salary right when filming was about to start. Wu Jing wasn’t about to indulge her, so he just pulled in a friend of his to be the lead, and the results were surprisingly good!
If the person didn’t have talent, Wu Jing definitely wouldn’t have recommended him, let alone signed him directly to the company.
“Welcome aboard. If you have any good ideas or scripts, the company will give you its full support!” Su Chen said, extending his hand to shake Guo Fan’s.
Guo Fan never expected to receive such treatment. He was beyond excited!
“Huh? Guo Fan, you’re here too? I was just thinking of recommending you to Mr. Su. But from the looks of it, I’m guessing Wu Jing has already snapped you up!” a man known as Andy said, walking over with a wine glass in hand.
Hearing this, Su Chen’s interest was piqued. He asked curiously, “You two know each other?”
Andy and Guo Fan exchanged a glance, then nodded. “A couple of years ago, I started a project to support new directors, right? Guo Fan was one of them. This kid is down-to-earth; he’s definitely going to achieve great things in the future!”
At this point, Andy smiled at Su Chen and said, “Then let me congratulate Mr. Su on recruiting such a great talent.”
In their previous conversation, Andy had learned from Su Chen about the movie *Wolf Warrior 2* and the formation of the company, so he naturally knew that Su Chen was the big boss behind the scenes.
Wu Jing was just the vanguard, the one charging ahead at the front.
Andy’s words were full of deeper meaning, intended to give Guo Fan a leg up and leave a better impression on Su Chen.
Su Chen heard this, smiled, and nodded, showing his approval of Andy’s words.
At this… Guo Fan, standing to the side, was incredibly moved.
BUZZZ BUZZZ BUZZZ…
They had barely exchanged a few more words when Su Chen’s phone, which was on the table, started to buzz.
Seeing the international number, a flicker of doubt crossed Su Chen’s eyes. Only a few people abroad had his number, and he knew all of their numbers.
As far as he could remember, this was the first time he’d ever seen this number.
He immediately picked up the phone and answered the call.
“Hello? Who is this?”
A voice immediately replied from the other end, but when Su Chen heard it, a flash of astonishment crossed his face, which was noticed by the others standing nearby.
But the conversation that followed made their jaws drop in astonishment.
Su Chen suddenly started speaking fluent, authentic Bear Country language. If the words weren’t coming from Su Chen’s own mouth, Andy and the others would have thought he was a native of Bear Country.
They couldn’t understand the language, but they could certainly read his expression. After the initial shock, the smile on Su Chen’s face grew wider and wider until he was grinning from ear to ear, as if he’d just received some incredibly good news.
After hanging up, Su Chen saw three pairs of curious eyes staring at him. He paused for a second before realizing they were curious about what he had just discussed on the phone.
However… Su Chen had no intention of sharing. After all, the information was simply too shocking.
Although the three of them were curious, since Su Chen didn’t bring it up, they didn’t feel it was their place to ask. They could only return to their previous topic.
After several rounds of drinks and many courses, the banquet eventually had to come to an end.
Everyone had had quite a bit to drink, and their respective assistants were already waiting at the entrance. After exchanging a few simple pleasantries with everyone, Su Chen got in his car and left.
After all, Wu Jing had already arranged accommodations for the celebrities right there at the five-star hotel.
Unbeknownst to them, a storm called *Wolf Warrior 2* was already brewing online. Meanwhile, Wu Jing and the others involved were already fast asleep in their beds, lost in dreamland.
…
‘Shichahai is really bustling during the May Day holiday!’ Su Chen stood before his bedroom window, watching the sea of people in the distance at Shichahai and shaking his head with a smile.
Averting his gaze, Su Chen silently called out in his mind and summoned the system panel. It was time for his monthly blind box opening.
He glanced at it. The blind box was priced at 5.1 million, which he found rather fitting for the May 1st holiday.
Without a second thought, he bought the blind box and immediately opened it.
“Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Animal Affinity MAX (Active)!”
Hearing the system’s notification in his mind, Su Chen stood frozen on the spot.
‘What the heck is this Animal Affinity? And it’s MAX… Does this mean that if I use this ability, animals will be drawn to me?’
After a moment of thought, Su Chen pushed the ability to the back of his mind. To him, it was basically useless. After all, he wasn’t around any animals… except for Yuanbao, that fat orange cat!
The moment he thought of Yuanbao, the fat orange cat waddled in from outside the door, its round body swaying. In just a few steps, it was at Su Chen’s feet, rubbing its big head against his shin and letting out a series of meows.
“Yuanbao, you silly thing, have you gotten fat again!” Su Chen exclaimed, needing quite a bit of effort to lift the cat. It had to weigh at least twenty pounds.
Hoisting Yuanbao onto his shoulder, Su Chen headed downstairs.
Just as he reached the bend in the staircase, Su Chen stopped in his tracks, a look of delight flashing across his face.
‘No, wait. This Animal Affinity ability is extremely useful to me!’
In China, the Animal Affinity ability would indeed be like a chicken rib—tasteless to eat, yet a pity to discard, especially since it cost over five million.
