Chapter 296: Chapter 177: To Yangcheng City

A seaside villa in Sanya Bay!

As soon as Su Chen stepped into the courtyard, he saw Jiang Hui sitting on a lounge chair in the villa’s garden, reading a book.

"Sir, you’re back." Seeing Su Chen, Jiang Hui quickly stood up from her chair.

Su Chen gave a slight nod. "Are Sicong and Qin Fen out?"

"Young Master Cong and Young Master Qin are both home today. They’re in the entertainment room on the first floor, playing computer games!"

Hearing this, Su Chen waved his hand, gesturing for Jiang Hui to go back to her book. He then strode into the house.

The moment he stepped inside, he heard Sicong and Qin Fen yelling.

"Qin Fen, support me, quick! The jungler and top laner are both coming to gank me!"

"Don’t panic, I’m on my way! Watch my spear strike like a dragon—I’ll wipe out all three with a single combo!"

"What the fuck! You fucking missed your ult! Wipe out three? You just fed them a kill from a mile away!"

"My fault? Who knew they had a ward in the bush? Besides, you got killed under your own tower. That’s even lousier than what I did!"

"That’s because you were too slow to back me up! Their top laner had already rotated down, and you were still clearing minions. With game sense like that, what makes you think you can run an esports club?!"

"The hell? It’s just a game, why make it personal? If you’re so good, then you carry! You think this is a shouting match?"

Listening to them bicker, Su Chen felt the fatigue of the past few days start to melt away.

’As expected... my happiness really is built on the misery of others.’

"Why don’t you two just have a 1v1? Winner gets bragging rights!" Su Chen said with a smirk, leaning against the doorframe.

"A 1v1 it is!"

The words had barely left Sicong’s mouth when he sensed something was off. He quickly turned his head and saw Su Chen leaning against the door.

Qin Fen, beside him, turned around as well.

"When did you get back? Where are your folks?" Sicong asked curiously.

He knew that Su Chen had spent the past few days taking his parents all over Hainan. Every time he’d asked what Su Chen was doing, he was either visiting a tourist attraction or browsing a souvenir shop.

Su Chen didn’t answer immediately. He walked over to the mini-fridge, grabbed a drink, flopped onto the sofa, and chugged half of it before speaking. "They’ve all gone back to Wudu. I just saw them off at the airport."

Sicong and Qin Fen were actually pretty impressed with Su Chen. At least, neither of them had ever gone on a trip with their parents like that—though, to be fair, their parents were always busy.

"Tsk, tsk. It’s only been a few days. How come you look a little thinner? You’re even a shade tanner!" Qin Fen remarked, noticing Su Chen looked slightly different.

Su Chen shot Qin Fen a weary look. "If you walked tens of thousands of steps every day, lugged around shopping bags, woke up at the crack of dawn, and didn’t get to bed until late, you’d lose weight after a few days, too!"

To be honest, Su Chen had wanted to bail back when they were touring the fishing village and just find an excuse to leave. But then he’d realized he rarely had the chance to travel with his parents. If he missed this opportunity, who knew when the next one would be.

He figured it would just be tiring and a bit of a grind, at worst.

In the end, he’d gritted his teeth and stuck it out. And even though he was dog-tired every single day, seeing the smiles on his parents’ faces and the hundreds of group photos on his phone made it all feel worth it.

Honestly, Su Chen had to admire his mom’s stamina. He was finally starting to understand why travel agencies loved organizing tours for middle-aged and elderly groups.

It was simple: they had incredible stamina and wanted to go everywhere and see everything. Plus, they were financially independent with money to spend. All it took was a little persuasion, and they’d go on a "buy, buy, buy" spree!

He thought about the four or five bags Chen Shufen and his father had checked in for their flight—the excess baggage fees alone were several hundred yuan. They were filled with local specialties and decorative trinkets like seashells, all bought by Chen Shufang. Usefulness was irrelevant; as long as it was pretty, she bought it.

He let out a long sigh, as if to release all the pent-up frustration from the last few days.

Noticing the exhaustion on Su Chen’s face, Sicong and Qin Fen exchanged a look. "Want me to call an in-home masseuse for you?" Sicong offered. "Get a massage, help you relax a bit."

"An in-home massage?" Su Chen shot them a look. ’As if any of those are legitimate these days.’

"Never mind. I’m going to my room to get some rest. Just call me when dinner’s ready." With that, Su Chen ambled upstairs, unfinished drink in hand.

"Alright, we’ll call you for dinner!" The two watched Su Chen’s retreating figure, then immediately returned to their game.

...

"The boundless horizon is mine, beneath the rolling green hills, the flowers bloom..."

Su Chen had just lain down and closed his eyes, not yet having drifted off to sleep, when the phone beside him started ringing.

He glanced over. Ye Feng’s name was on the screen.

’Does this guy have me bugged or something?’ Su Chen muttered, grabbing the phone.

"You’ve got some great timing, you know that? I literally just lay down. What do you want?" Su Chen grumbled into the phone as soon as he answered.

Ye Feng, on the other end of the line, was a bit baffled by the greeting. The smug look on his face froze. He glanced at the time on his phone—it was just a little past ten in the morning. ’Who sleeps at this hour?’

"The sun’s been up for hours! Why are you just going to sleep now? Did you, Sicong, and the guys go out and party all night?" Ye Feng assumed.

"Party? Yeah, right. I’ve been with my parents the last few days. I just put them on a plane this morning."

"So, did you call for something? If it’s not important, I’ll call you back when I wake up." Su Chen’s eyelids were drooping. All he wanted was to sleep in peace.
