Chapter 267: Chapter 166: 3 Yuan Canteen (Part 3)

"Sounds like they’re having a good time!" Hearing the voices from the beach, Su Chen wondered what they were up to and pulled out his phone, opening the camera.

"Whoa, I didn’t expect it to be this clear." Lying on his lounge chair, Su Chen propped up his phone and started watching the live feed.

After watching for a bit, Su Chen found it wasn’t as entertaining as he’d expected. There was a noticeable difference compared to watching it on TV; it lacked a certain comedic flair.

’It must be the post-production editing.’

After sending a message to Deng Chao and the others, he put his phone away.

Remembering what the two aunties had muttered as they left earlier, Su Chen called into the house.

"Old Jiang~"

Soon enough, Jiang Hui hurried out to the balcony and stood respectfully to the side, awaiting Su Chen’s orders.

"Give Chen Fei a call and have him arrange for a shipment of rice, flour, and cooking oil to be sent to San Yuan Canteen." Su Chen paused before adding, "Let’s make it three tons. The little eatery won’t have space for any more than that."

As an afterthought, Su Chen added, "And you should go in person."

"Uh... Sir, aren’t you going yourself?" Jiang Hui asked tentatively.

He knew Su Chen had taken a keen interest in this Chen Hao. He’d even thought Su Chen would poach him to head his future charity projects, but this arrangement didn’t seem to point in that direction.

Su Chen hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "Alright, I’ll go. The chances are slim, but it’s worth a try."

’From our previous conversation, I know Chen Hao is a man with his own principles. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to keep San Yuan Canteen running for seven or eight years. I wonder if he’ll accept the olive branch I’m offering.’

A little after two in the afternoon, Chen Fei called to say he had arrived near San Yuan Canteen. Without dawdling, Su Chen took Jiang Hui and headed straight there.

When they found Chen Fei, he was leaning against a Mercedes G-Wagen, chatting with three or four men in security uniforms. A small box truck was parked nearby.

"Sir~" Seeing Su Chen and Jiang Hui arrive, he quickly signaled for the other men to stand at attention.

"Mm." Su Chen’s gaze swept over Chen Fei and his men. "Thanks in advance for your hard work. I need you to move all the supplies from the truck into San Yuan Canteen."

"No trouble at all!" Chen Fei gestured for his men to get started right away.

Seeing this, Su Chen headed into San Yuan Canteen.

Just then, Chen Hao noticed the commotion outside. He had just stepped out when he saw Su Chen, followed by a group of men carrying sacks of rice, flour, and jugs of cooking oil.

"What is all this?" Chen Hao was extremely surprised to see Su Chen again.

Especially with so many supplies in tow.

Su Chen gestured with his hand, and Chen Fei’s group started carrying the goods toward the storeroom. Chen Hao saw this and was about to speak, but Su Chen pulled him over to a nearby chair and sat him down.

"Just let them handle it. Don’t worry about it!"

Chen Hao opened his mouth to protest, but after a glance at the brawny figures of Chen Fei and his men, he silently nodded.

"I’m visiting again not just to drop off supplies, but also to discuss something with you," Su Chen said, getting straight to the point.

"Something to discuss? What might that be?" Chen Hao asked, frowning slightly at Su Chen.

Su Chen noticed his expression and said with a smile, "Don’t worry, I don’t mean any harm."

"To be honest, after learning about your good deeds, I was inspired. I want to expand this model to more places... to help more people who have no one else to depend on."

"I was hoping you would be the one to lead this effort. After all, you have a wealth of experience in this area."

Chen Hao was stunned. It took him a long moment to process what he’d just heard.

After a long silence, Chen Hao finally said, "I know my own limits. I’m content just running this small canteen and doing what I can. I wouldn’t dare to hope for anything more."

"Judging by your entourage, you must be a very important person. You should find someone more capable for this task. I’m really not cut out for such a huge responsibility."

Su Chen had already guessed that Chen Hao would likely refuse, so he wasn’t particularly disappointed.

He didn’t pursue the topic. They made small talk for about ten minutes, and by the time they were done, Chen Fei and his men had moved all the supplies into the storeroom, which was now filled to the brim.

"From now on, we’ll deliver a shipment of rice, flour, and oil every month. Hopefully, that will ease some of the pressure on you!"

Chen Hao gave Su Chen a long, deep look. He then stood up and gave him a very solemn bow, understanding that Su Chen was genuinely trying to help more people.

"If you have any issues in the future, call this number," Su Chen said, giving Chen Fei a meaningful glance.

Chen Fei immediately pulled a business card from his pocket and handed it to Chen Hao.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Su Chen took his men and departed.

Coincidentally, they ran into the two aunties from before right as they stepped outside. Su Chen gave them a nod and continued on his way.

The two aunties were also a little curious about Su Chen visiting again.

After the two of them entered the canteen, two bursts of joyful laughter quickly erupted from within.
