From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 476 - 473: Why Does the Woman in the Video Look So Much Like Chloe Sinclair
Spring had arrived, but the weather in Emberfall was still cold.
A winter wind stripped the last few leaves from the trees lining the road. A withered, yellow leaf swirled through the air and landed on Nathan Trenton’s shoulder.
Instantly, a chill shot up from the soles of Nathan Trenton’s feet, and his blood ran cold.
He stared, stunned, at the young woman before him. Her skin was so fair it seemed to glow, making her look like a precious porcelain doll that might shatter at the slightest touch.
"You..."
Nathan Trenton opened his mouth.
Looking at Chloe Sinclair, he was at a loss for a moment, unsure whether to offer words of comfort or to voice his outrage on her behalf.
He’d seen the couple’s vile expressions clearly. He couldn’t imagine what kind of environment Chloe Sinclair must have grown up in.
"I’m fine." Chloe Sinclair’s expression was placid, her words just as devoid of emotion.
In reality, Chloe Sinclair had long since moved on from the shadows of her previous life.
"Did they come looking for you because of what happened to Nina Sinclair?" Nathan Trenton asked.
"Not entirely."
"Silas Sinclair loves to gamble and Liana Marsh loves playing mahjong," Chloe Sinclair said dispassionately. "They’re completely irresponsible, but they dote on their son as if he’s a precious treasure. Nina Sinclair is just their cash cow."
’If they truly saw Nina Sinclair as their own daughter, they would have been running around frantically, trying to find a solution when she got into trouble.’
’But they hadn’t mentioned Nina Sinclair once. Instead, their sole concern was securing a long-term meal ticket for their son.’
’To put it bluntly, it’s a classic case of favoring sons over daughters.’
Nathan Trenton was speechless for a moment.
Finally, he said in a heavy voice, "Be careful. Since they didn’t get what they wanted this time, they’ll definitely be back to cause trouble for you."
"Mm, thank you, Senior."
Chloe Sinclair smiled, hugged her books, and got into the car.
However, not long after she returned, someone posted a video of the incident on a short-video platform.
The person who posted it had likely just filmed it on a whim. The camera was behind Chloe Sinclair, so it didn’t capture a clear shot of her face.
Silas Sinclair’s and Liana Marsh’s faces, however, were clearly visible in the video.
"WTF, who is this girl? And she’s a college student? Refusing to even acknowledge her own mom and dad."
"Look at how that couple is dressed, they must be struggling. The girl is dressed nicely, so her life must be pretty good. Even if she’s the adopted daughter, why wouldn’t she help out her adoptive parents? Unbelievable."
"It’s like they raised a dog."
"At least if you raise a dog, it’ll wag its tail at you when you see it."
"@Secretary King, go find out who this woman is for your Emperor."
"Sigh, getting doxxed is so scary... so she should just hurry up and die."
"This woman is unbelievable. Her birth parents abandoned her, and her adoptive parents went through hell to raise her, only to be treated like this."
"Doxx her! Doxx her now!"
"Checked the IP, turns out the poster is located at Emberfall University?"
"WTF, someone like this goes to Emberfall University? Was everything she learned a complete waste?"
"Can I say something? Not sure if it’s appropriate but..."
"This woman is so cold. I know being forced to support your brother isn’t ideal, but she’s clearly well-off. He’s her brother, after all. What’s wrong with helping him out a little?"
But soon, some people started to notice that something wasn’t right.
"Heh, we have no idea what’s actually going on. How can you be so sure you’re seeing the whole picture? Besides, the parents are obviously being aggressive and demanding. If it were me, I’d be pissed too!"
"Wait, doesn’t the girl’s back look a lot like Chloe Sinclair?"
