From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius

Chapter 469 - 463: I, Chloe Sinclair, Will Remember This

  • Next Chapter

Gabriel Sinclair was taken aback, a flicker of confusion in his eyes.

He probably didn’t understand what Chloe Sinclair meant by "evidence."

Chloe had no choice but to explain. "That song you sang in the car last time? I recorded it, and my recording is time-stamped earlier than Nina Sinclair’s backup."

Gabriel’s eyes widened in disbelief.

He suddenly burst out laughing, clapping Chloe on the shoulder. "That’s my sister, all right," he exclaimed in admiration.

It was like his sister had been sent from heaven to save him.

But Chloe said, "Now’s not the time to release the evidence."

Her words made Gabriel pause.

He asked instinctively, "Then when can we release it?"

Chloe’s eyes darkened. "A single video will only force Nina to quit the entertainment industry. The public condemnation she’d receive would be a mere slap on the wrist for her."

In her past life, Nina had driven her older brother and the entire Sinclair family to ruin.

Even though this was something from two lifetimes, Chloe still had no intention of letting Nina get away with it.

"Brother, I know you don’t fully understand, but Nina’s actions have long since crossed the line of morality and legality. The law should handle this as it sees fit. We absolutely cannot let this slide."

Gabriel was slightly surprised to hear this.

He really hadn’t thought that far ahead.

The entertainment industry was too complicated, full of constant scheming and backstabbing.

One day, you’re stealing my resources; the next, I’m paying for smear campaigns to ruin you.

There were so many troubles day in and day out that you could completely forget that the law could be used to judge these matters.

"It’s probably not that serious, is it?"

He had originally thought that if they found the evidence, he would just make Nina’s team issue a public apology.

But he could sense that Chloe’s goal was something more.

"Brother, you just want a public apology from Nina. But do you know what Nina’s goal is?"

Gabriel fell silent.

Chloe’s words were like a clap of thunder ringing in his ears.

A chill shot up from the soles of his feet, and cold sweat streamed down his back.

For a moment, he was overcome with belated fear.

He gritted his teeth. "I’ll do whatever you say."

Hearing this, Chloe was finally able to relax.

She sent the video to Gabriel.

"What should we do next?" Gabriel asked uncertainly after receiving the video.

Nina had been ruthless this time. Ms. Mayfield had been investigating for so long without finding anything conclusive.

She must have been preparing for this for a long time.

"We wait," Chloe said with a light smile. "Since Nina came so well-prepared, I want to see what else she has planned."

’Let’s see just how far she’s willing to go.’

Chloe didn’t stay at the hotel long. She left after just a short while.

The moment she arrived at the hotel, she had been spotted by quite a few paparazzi. When she came out, some of them brazenly followed her.

Chloe, of course, knew she was being followed. However, she acted as if she didn’t see them and even deliberately slowed down her car.

The pink Beetle drove to the laboratory near Emberfall University.

At that moment, small groups of people had already gathered outside the gate.

The Sutton brothers blocked the entrance, their faces grim.

"Please leave immediately!"

"This is trespassing on private property!"

Although each of the Suttons could take on ten men, the people in front of them were all young girls. Even if they wanted to get physical, it was impossible.

Just then, Chloe’s car pulled up. The Suttons’ expressions darkened, and they prepared to call for backup.

But at that exact moment, Chloe got right out of the car.

She was wearing a pink padded jacket, which made her look like a small, bundled-up figure.

The two men’s eyes were filled with worry.

Taking advantage of the rowdy fans’ distraction, one of the Suttons hurried to Chloe’s side.

"Miss, what are you doing here? I’ll escort you away."

Chloe shook her head. She glanced at the red paint splattered all over him, her brow furrowing slightly.

"Why didn’t you call the police?"

He replied, "We did. They haven’t arrived yet."

Chloe nodded and, under his watchful gaze, walked into the center of the crowd.

The crowd, which had been raucous just moments before, unconsciously parted to form a path when they saw Chloe approaching.

When Chloe reached the entrance, she saw that it wasn’t just the Sutton brothers who had been splattered with paint; the lab’s exterior walls and windows had also been vandalized.

"What is the meaning of this, everyone?"

Chloe’s expression didn’t change, and her tone betrayed no emotion.

And yet, this very fact sent a shiver through the crowd.

"Chloe Sinclair, your brother is a plagiarizing dog!"

"Yeah! Make your brother apologize to our Nina!"

"We’re going to get justice for Nina!"

"Gabriel Sinclair is a good-for-nothing, and you’re no better!"

...

At that moment, the crowd was a cacophony of voices, one shouting after another, making it difficult for Chloe to even get a word in.

However, Chloe didn’t seem to care about any of this. Even the words these kids were spouting were like water off a duck’s back to her.

After about five minutes, everyone finally finished speaking.

Now, no one was talking. The scene became inexplicably awkward.

"Are you all done cursing?"

Seeing that the crowd had fallen silent, Chloe finally spoke softly.

For some reason, the crowd could sense a hint of amusement in Chloe’s voice.

"Hmph! If you know what’s good for you, apologize to our Nina right now, or you’ll regret it!"

"Yeah, apologize!"

"Your brother is just jealous! He saw our Nina’s song get popular and plagiarized it! Let me tell you, no way!"

After listening, Chloe suddenly scoffed. "And what if I don’t apologize? What are you going to do?"

The crowd was stunned.

After all, they were just a group of underage girls. They had thought their aggressive demeanor would be enough to intimidate her and hadn’t really thought beyond that.

Chloe’s attitude was also completely unexpected.

One of the girls, about sixteen or seventeen years old, stepped forward, her eyes filled with disgust. "Then we’ll make you face the consequences!"

With that, she raised her hand, and a brown object came flying straight toward Chloe.

The Sutton brothers, standing on either side of Chloe, never expected these young girls to be so bold.

By the time they reacted, it was already too late.

"AH—"

Suddenly, the girl who had just been shouting defiantly cried out, clutching her arm with a pained expression on her face.

The brown rock that had been hurtling through the air had been thrown back by Chloe.

In the vast courtyard, not a single person dared to speak. Even their breathing grew faint.

Only the girl who had thrown the rock was still howling in pain, her screams like a pig being slaughtered.

"I, Chloe Sinclair, will remember what happened here today."

Chloe’s tone was icy, like a block of frozen water, sending shivers down the spines of the many young girls who had come looking for trouble.

The more timid ones even burst into tears.

Just then, they heard the roar of multiple engines in the distance.

Looking back, they saw dozens of Bentleys parked in an orderly line along the side of the road.

And at the very end of the line was, unmistakably, the police car that had responded to the report.

Now, the troublemakers were utterly panicked.
