A man’s shoe size is generally four or five sizes larger than a woman’s.

She had only made the offer to be polite, not expecting Nina Sinclair to actually take her up on it.

But since she’d already made the offer, Hailey Beckett resigned herself to giving the rain boots to Nina Sinclair.

"Nina, need a pair of sneakers?"

Just as Hailey Beckett was about to hand over her shoes, Chloe Sinclair pulled a brand-new pair of sneakers from her own backpack.

Hailey Beckett’s hand froze in mid-air.

’If she insisted on creating drama with Hailey Beckett right now, she could imagine how badly she’d be flamed online.’

She sullenly pulled her hand back and glanced at Chloe Sinclair’s shoes, a flicker of disgust in her eyes.

’Who knows if a hick like that has stinky shoes.’

However, as if she could read Nina Sinclair’s mind, Chloe Sinclair said, "Don’t worry, the shoes are new. I bought them for 308. I’ll round it down for you—just give me 300."

This time, Nina Sinclair’s expression finally cracked.

Her mouth fell open. "That’s not what I meant."

Chloe Sinclair pretended not to understand. "What did you mean?"

"I wasn’t looking down on your shoes."

After listening, Chloe Sinclair just said, "Oh," and nodded. "You’re overthinking it."

Nina Sinclair: "..."

She opened her mouth to argue, but after a look at Chloe Sinclair, she shut it again.

Very reluctantly, Nina Sinclair changed into the shoes and fell to the back of the group.

In the morning, the weeds along the path were still beaded with dew, and the mud underfoot was extremely soft. The heavy rainfall from the previous night had already caused small landslides in several areas.

As the guests passed a small cliff and saw a large tree that had been washed away by a mudslide, a wave of fear washed over them.

"Thank goodness Chloe had us stand guard last night. Otherwise, if this had happened, we probably wouldn’t have even lasted until the rescue team arrived."

The journey from the mountain to the base took several hours. What’s more, in extreme weather like yesterday’s, finding their location would have been incredibly difficult, even with GPS and watches.

Walking at the back, Nina Sinclair heard Frank Hayes’s words and said dismissively, "But nothing happened yesterday, did it? This is just a freak accident."

However, the moment the words left her mouth, she saw several people turn to look at her.

Stunned for a moment, Nina Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, "Did I say something wrong?"

’Nothing happened yesterday anyway. Standing guard was a total waste of time.’

Seeing Nina Sinclair’s expression, Gabriel Sinclair rolled his eyes without any concern for his image. "Are you an idiot? Haven’t you ever heard of ’just in case’? Chloe wanted us to prevent an accident, not attempt some last-ditch escape. Get it?"

After he spoke, the other guests nodded in agreement.

"Didn’t the Bee Team say someone died in a landslide before? Chloe was just being cautious. If something really had happened, our chances of survival would have been much higher."

Nina Sinclair’s face turned livid.

’She was just voicing her opinion. Why were these old geezers always calling her out?’

Seeing Nina Sinclair’s foul expression, the other four guests didn’t want to be labeled as bullies when the show aired. They exchanged glances and said no more.

Chloe Sinclair, who had been sitting on a rock, saw this and stood up. "Let’s go."

"I’m not done resting yet!" Nina Sinclair said quickly.

"Who knows how long it’ll take for you to be ’done resting.’ The sooner we leave, the sooner we’ll reach our destination."

The bees would linger for a while after reaching their destination, and by then, the mission would be almost over.

With that, Chloe Sinclair walked away without a backward glance.
