From Bullets To Billions

Chapter 755: The Rich Loser

"Forget the three with sticks up their asses!" Donto shouted from the top deck. "Focus on the other two. I’ll deal with these three myself!"

Donto was a skilled fighter, but he understood his limits. Going against Darius and Jett alone would be impossible.

The two Black Hound leaders were far stronger and more experienced than him. Even with Donto’s abilities as an athlete, he knew he wouldn’t last long against either of them in a direct fight.

That was why he ordered the prisoners and hired fighters to concentrate on them instead.

Donto hoped their overwhelming numbers would eventually wear Jett and Darius down. Even if they couldn’t defeat the pair, they might delay them long enough for Donto to deal with Chad, Karen and Bobo.

After that, if the situation became impossible to control, he would at least have enough time to escape.

"The only thing I need to make sure of is that none of this gets back to Grandfather," Donto said, punching his fist into his open palm. "As long as that doesn’t happen, everything will be fine."

He charged towards the three members of the Stern family.

To everyone’s surprise, including Chad’s, Chad stepped in front of the others.

He lifted his leg and attempted to kick Donto.

I spent a lot of time at the Billion Bloodline building, Chad thought. I watched everyone train and fight day after day.

Being surrounded by skilled fighters had encouraged Chad to try some of their training sessions himself. He had watched their movements, attempted to copy their techniques and convinced himself that some of their ability had started to rub off on him.

I even tried following a couple of their training sessions. I’m not just some ordinary person anymore.

Those were the thoughts passing through Chad’s mind.

However, his kick struck nothing but air.

Donto easily moved around it before wrapping one hand around Chad’s neck. He lifted Chad off his feet and slammed him into the floor.

Pain shot through Chad’s back as the air was forced from his lungs.

"Did you think I was weak just because Max defeated me?" Donto asked.

His fingers tightened around Chad’s throat.

"Or was it because I didn’t go down there with the others? Have you forgotten that I’m a top-tier athlete?"

Chad gripped Donto’s wrist as he struggled to breathe.

"Just because you’ve spent so much time surrounded by monsters, you’ve lost sight of what an ordinary person is capable of," Donto continued. "At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if you’d started believing you were one of those monsters yourself, you idiot!"

"Let go of him!" Karen shouted. "You’ll kill him!"

"Well, that is the idea," Donto replied. "Maybe he won’t die. Perhaps I’ll only crush his throat and he’ll get lucky."

Karen’s expression hardened, but she didn’t rush towards him. She knew that a direct attack wouldn’t work. Donto was stronger and faster than any of them.

Instead, she kept talking.

"Can’t you see that you’re being used?" Karen argued. "They never would have allowed you to join them if it wasn’t for your money. That’s all they see when they look at you. You’re nothing more than a tool they can use to get to Max."

Donto’s grip remained around Chad’s throat, but his attention shifted towards Karen.

"What are you going to do after this?" she continued. "What happens if they demand all your money once this is over? Will you give it to them?"

Karen could see something change in Donto’s expression, so she continued pressing him.

"Will you really be satisfied after taking from members of your own family just so you can hand everything over to complete strangers?"

"Strangers?" Donto repeated. "Isn’t that exactly what we are?"

He looked between Chad, Karen and Bobo.

"The fact that the three of you are suddenly acting so close after all this time makes me sick. Even my own father treats me like a stranger."

There was genuine pain in Donto’s voice now.

"It’s obvious that the three of you are only staying together because you’re desperate," he continued. "You’re clinging to one another like parasites because you’re afraid of what will happen if you’re left alone."

Donto’s fingers loosened slightly as he spoke.

Chad immediately noticed the difference. He grabbed Donto’s wrist with both hands and tried to force it away from his neck.

However, Donto was still far stronger than him.

"You say I’m being used, but isn’t Max doing the same thing to the three of you?" Donto asked. "If you ask me, it certainly looks like he has all three of you caught in his perfect web."

Karen knew there was no convincing Donto.

She had known that from the beginning.

Everything she had said was only meant to buy time.

While Donto was focused on Karen, someone he had never considered a threat moved behind him.

Bobo had taken off one of her high heels and was gripping it tightly in her hand. She swung it with all her strength, driving the narrow edge directly into the back of Donto’s neck.

Donto flinched from the sharp pain.

His grip loosened, allowing Chad to pull free.

Still lying on the floor, Chad planted both feet against Donto’s chest and kicked as hard as he could. The attack wasn’t intended to injure him. Chad used Donto’s large body as a platform, pushing himself across the floor and creating distance between them.

Chad quickly climbed back to his feet and hurried away.

Bobo did the same, moving around Donto before he could recover.

However, none of them expected him to regain his balance so quickly.

Donto spun around and reached for Bobo. His hand closed around her wrist before she could escape.

"You’re making this even more enjoyable," Donto said. "I’ll take care of you three first, and then I’ll deal with the rest myself."

He pulled back his other arm and swung his fist towards Bobo’s face.

It was clear that Donto didn’t care how much damage the attack caused. Whether he fractured her skull, disfigured her face or killed her made no difference to him.

The fist never reached Bobo.

A powerful hand caught it in mid-air.

"I used to think gangsters were the worst kind of people in the world," Jett said. "But it looks like rich people are competing for the number-one spot."

Jett tightened his grip.

The pressure increased until it felt as though every bone in Donto’s hand was being crushed at once. Donto’s face twisted in pain, but before he could respond, Jett drove a heavy fist into his face.

The blow sent Donto crashing to the floor.

He remained there, showing no sign that he would be getting back up anytime soon.

Darius looked towards the fight taking place below the ship.

"We have to hurry," he said. "If we want to help Max, we need to reach him before it’s too late."
