From Broken Family to Life Winner: A Reborn Mother's Journey
Chapter 523: Caihua’s Downfall (Part 3)
After meeting Beard, Qin Shanshan’s spirits lifted.
She became completely energized, and the gloom hanging over her dissipated.
It was as if she had suddenly found her drive, her purpose.
She was in such a miserable state, brought so low. She wouldn’t let go of the people who had done this to her. She wanted revenge!
Revenge is the greatest motivator of all.
Qin Shanshan had suddenly found a new purpose in life.
’Yes, I’ll get my revenge. I won’t spare a single person who wronged me!’
The first targets, of course, would be Su Li and Little Tang Mo. After dealing with those two, the next would be Mrs. Tang!
After Mrs. Tang, there was Miao Cuixia, and then Su Dan... and after that, Tang Yuanxiao!
She wouldn’t let any of them off the hook!
She would make them pay!
Qin Shanshan’s aimless life had finally found its purpose once again.
When she was a child, everyone had to write an essay about what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Before, Qin Shanshan had no real ambitions. Growing up in her environment, she watched the people around her drift aimlessly toward marriage and children.
Her first wish, her first real goal in life, came during the first stirrings of love in middle school.
In the bloom of her youth, she developed a crush on Tang Yuanxiao. From that moment on, she had a wish, a goal:
To marry Brother Tang Yuan and have his children.
This wish stayed with her for many years until it was shattered before the New Year.
Having suddenly lost her life’s purpose, Qin Shanshan found a new one because of the child in her belly.
’No matter what, I have to have this child first.’
But then the child was gone, and she ended up in this situation.
It wasn’t until she met Beard that Qin Shanshan suddenly found her life’s purpose again: revenge.
’A person needs to have a goal in life, or else it’s all meaningless.’
After finding her goal of revenge, she felt no fear about what should have been a terrifying matter—only excitement.
Thrilled, she rallied her spirits and waited for Beard to contact her.
She didn’t have to wait long. Beard contacted her the very next day.
Qin Shanshan took Beard to identify Su Li’s home, telling him how strict that detestable guard was and suggesting he make his move at the library instead.
She did everything in her power to help. Her only hope was to ruin Su Li and Little Tang Mo. To achieve this goal, she even took a huge gamble and gave Beard fifty yuan.
They were extremely poor now, so fifty yuan was a huge sum, but Qin Shanshan gritted her teeth and gave it to him.
As long as it made Su Li and Little Tang Mo suffer, she was willing.
When Beard told her to leave and that he would contact her if needed, Qin Shanshan agreed without hesitation.
After that, she just waited for news.
She hadn’t misjudged Beard; news came quickly.
Little Tang Mo was missing.
Little Tang Mo had been kidnapped.
When Qin Shanshan heard the news, she laughed so hard under her blankets that she almost couldn’t breathe.
Although she was a little disappointed that Su Li hadn’t been taken along with him, Qin Shanshan believed they would act again soon and kidnap Su Li too.
Qin Shanshan could just imagine how heartbroken that fool Su Li must be over Little Tang Mo’s kidnapping.
’She’s insane, it’s not even her own kid... But insane is good.’
Qin Shanshan couldn’t stand the way Su Li treated Little Tang Mo as her own son. In her eyes, it was the behavior of a lunatic.
Still, a lunatic was good. Losing Little Tang Mo would crush Su Li’s spirit. Then, when Su Li herself was kidnapped and ruined, she would surely break down completely.
The mere thought of a despairing Little Tang Mo and Su Li, living a wretched existence, made Qin Shanshan feel like she could fly.
Just as Qin Shanshan was excitedly trying to follow the situation more closely, she suddenly realized the police were watching her.
Qin Shanshan was shocked. Thinking that Su Li might be suspicious of her, she cursed inwardly and started to lay low.
She stopped going out, pretended to be sick, and did nothing, trying to keep her own hands perfectly clean.
She waited excitedly for the news that Su Li had also been kidnapped...
But she waited and waited. Several days passed, and still no news...
Afraid of exposing herself, she didn’t go out or contact anyone. But instead of news of Su Li’s kidnapping, she was once again met with... the police.
Seeing the police again, Qin Shanshan naturally assumed that Su Li had also been kidnapped and that she was just being questioned again.
She was secretly delighted. Just as she was about to say she didn’t know anything and hadn’t left her home in days, a police officer snapped handcuffs on her wrists.
"What are you doing? Why are you handcuffing me? I’m innocent! I’m innocent, let me go!"
Qin Shanshan was stunned, and then she started screaming.
A police officer looked at Qin Shanshan. "We haven’t even said anything, and you already know you’ve been framed?"
"Of course I’ve been framed! What does Su Li being missing have to do with me!"
Having been forced to learn some basic law by Su Li, Qin Shanshan knew that handcuffs weren’t used lightly. A mix of fear and panic sent her mind into chaos, and the words tumbled out of her mouth.
"Heh... What does Su Li being missing have to do with you? Who told you Su Li was missing? You’re practically confessing!"
The officer who came to arrest Qin Shanshan was the same one who had investigated her before. He was already annoyed about his previous misjudgment, and hearing her say this now only made him more frustrated.
The color drained from Qin Shanshan’s face. She knew she had given herself away.
Gritting her teeth, she immediately started shouting, "I’ve been framed! Framed! I’m truly innocent, I don’t know what you’re talking about!"
She knew the gravity of what she had done. Of course, she would deny it to her dying breath.
But no matter how much she proclaimed her innocence, she was still taken away.
Su Dan, whom she had forced to go out and make money at a street stall, had gotten lazy halfway there and turned back, only to return just in time to see Qin Shanshan being led away. He was so scared he almost lost his mind.
The experience of being arrested by Fang Luo back in Fengcheng County was a nightmare for Miao Fenghua and Su Dan. The two scoundrels were so deeply scarred by the memory that even now they didn’t dare try to steal from Su Li.
Seeing the police, Su Dan began to tremble almost reflexively.
When he saw they were taking Qin Shanshan, he was so frightened he nearly fainted.
He didn’t faint, but when Qin Shanshan saw him and cried out for help, he was so scared he wet himself. The moment the police glanced over, he immediately denied any connection without a second thought.
"I don’t know anything! I’m innocent! I don’t know anything!"
The police gave him a look and left with Qin Shanshan.
Qin Shanshan screamed herself hoarse, but it didn’t even make Su Dan get up from the ground.
Never mind how Su Dan’s poor little heart was terrified, Qin Shanshan, arrested and taken to the police station, was nearly scared to death when she was brought to the interrogation room.
She couldn’t figure out how her actions had been exposed, but the most important thing was to deny it to her dying breath!
When she learned that Little Tang Mo had already been rescued and that Su Li was perfectly fine, Qin Shanshan almost died of anger.
But she quickly recovered, once again proclaiming her innocence and trying to argue her way out of it.
"I have no grudge against Tang Mo, why would I harm him? This is all Su Li’s slander!"
"Yes... Su Li is slandering me! She orchestrated this whole thing herself! She’s the one who sold Tang Mo! A few years ago, she tried to sell him once before but failed..."
