From Arsenal to the Ball God

Chapter 816: New Skills and New Plans? Isabella's Surprise and Fiery Youth! Morocco Convention Center!

  • Next Chapter

On August 27, after finishing the month’s schedule, Ma’el engaged in extra training on the lawn in front of his home, contemplating a question.

Is it possible for his shooting and passing to develop comprehensive Additional Skills like Fancy Techniques and Dribbling?

These are two abilities he’s longed to enhance to a comprehensive level. He yearns for lob shots, penalties, chip shots, and various small passing techniques but doesn’t want to practice these supplementary minor skills individually.

According to the functionality previously revealed by the Skill Level panel, in principle, as long as he trains, there is hope of achieving what he desires.

However, he always senses that shooting and passing are different from dribbling and fancy techniques.

The latter two inherently have some comprehensive skill aspects, whereas shooting and passing have many important subdivisions.

Like a player who’s good at dribbling, it’s hard to specify exactly what is good about it; you can only encapsulate it with general terms like possessing great ball control and dodging skills.

Unless they have a specialized skill, like Robinho, the King of Bicycle Kicks, which can be highlighted… but that’s rare.

Shooting, however, is different. Whether it’s long shots or push shots, volleys, or headers, they’re easy to distinguish!

These are entirely different fields… Being proficient in one can establish a foothold in the professional league, two can make you an excellent forward, and three can give you a chance to be dubbed an all-around divine forward!

Lob shots, penalties, push shots, although not as difficult and useful as headers and long shots, seem somewhat harder compared to rainbows and cow tails.

Or perhaps he’s overthinking it, complicating the skills that can more easily lead to goals and unexpectedly alter the game situation?

In reality, these skills are actually somewhat similar to rainbows and cow tails?

“Forget it.”

Ma’el pats his head and decides not to think further; he’ll know once he tries.

However, during the following training, he still couldn’t help but ponder over this aspect; the allure of enhancing comprehensive abilities is too great for him.

“Why not practice?”

He’s come up with a new idea and plans to re-evaluate his training regimen.

For someone who’s already a Super Giant Level star, there are two paths to enhance performance: develop more Level 5 Skills or fill in the gaps to boost comprehensive abilities.

He’s been consistently training Level 5 Skills, but regarding filling in the gaps, he’s seemed to procrastinate quite a bit.

Actually… this season, he could already vie for some top personal honors; at least he can strive towards that direction.

At this point, adopting a slow-growth, gradual approach to training won’t be as effective as directly entering into a full-speed sprint phase.

“Let’s train!”

Ma’el made a decision to open the Skill Level panel and reviewed the few skills he’s been working on lately.

[Skills: Decision Level 4]

[Skill Level: (3648/5000)]

[Skills: Rapid Charge Level 4]

[Skill Level: (2739/5000)]

[Skills: Divine Power Level 4]

[Skill Level: (2245/5000)]

[Skills: Curved Blade Level 4]

[Skill Level: (1392/2000)]

[Skills: Curved Trajectory Guidance Level 4]

[Skill Level: (1299/2000)]

[Skills: Fancy Dribbling Level 4]

[Skill Level: (461/5000)]

[Additional Skills: Fancy Techniques Level 3]

[Skill Level: (203/1500)]

Notably, the average Skill Level for Rapid Charge and Divine Power is just about halfway to an upgrade.

These two certainly cannot be rushed; their improvement will surely bring an unprecedented qualitative change… thus requiring more time and patience, steadfast perseverance, and effort.

Curved Blade and Curved Trajectory Guidance are quite close; it’s estimated they will be upgraded soon, ushering him into an era of three Level 5 Skills!

As for the two Fancy abilities, they have a long way to go due to just starting training.

Decision, on the other hand, has an automatic skill level boost, so he rarely focuses on it daily.

Just hoping for a swift upgrade, allowing his in-game reading skills and brain processing capabilities to reach the human limit.

After reviewing these, Ma’el planned to adjust his training regime, intending to change the priority order of training various skills and the proportion of time devoted.

The first thing to confirm is that Rapid Charge, Divine Power, Curved Blade, and Curved Trajectory Guidance are unquestionably the first priorities!

Even though the first two have a long way to go till upgrade, he’s still willing to grind slowly and won’t sacrifice the fundamentals for the new skills.

Future plans might add Head, Volley, and Inside-of-the-Foot Pass skills, which will also carry top weight in his training.

“As for fancy techniques, this oddity…”

Ma’el looked at the 5000 skill level of Fancy Dribbling and had an idea, “Why not set this main skill aside for now, but continue training the additional skills, and then put it down after it reaches Level 4?”

A long time ago, he had anticipated a result of training fancy techniques—aiming for Four Stars Fancy!

Since he’s already close, the pursuit of Five Stars Fancy’s pace might be deferred until other main skills reach Level 5 or filling gaps are completed before chasing this again.

“That’s it.”

Ma’el finalized his decision; now the skills he’s primarily training are five: four spanning Level 4 to Level 5, and one spanning Level 3 to Level 4, pursuing a Four Stars Reverse Foot skill.

This way, he can create some spare time daily to grind out some additional shooting and passing skills.

If he succeeds with these two, he’ll be complete in the basics of passing, stopping the ball, dribbling, and shooting… which don’t necessarily require the help of additional skills.

“Bang bang bang…”
