Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2793 - 1223: No, That’s Not Right—
[How sharp!]
Watching a Blue team unit dominated by cavalry being ’flung’ out by the legion, like a blade sharp enough to split a hair, crashing into the dense Red units under her command and immediately forming three wedge formations the moment they engaged, directly piercing through the [Colorful], [Flower Sparrow], and [Windmill] small positions ahead, the smile on Theresa’s face grew increasingly enchanting.
She didn’t mind this minor breach, because that position was insignificant to begin with. Not to mention that the opposing side had lost the majority of their units in the initial collision, even if they had zero losses, knights typically didn’t shine in defending small positions. Even if they could hold it, that breach was limited and couldn’t trigger a chain reaction affecting the big picture.
So, there’s no need to concern, no need to comment.
[How meticulous!]
A moment ago, several Blue army corps were conducting large-scale inserts, but suddenly they stood eerily still amid the intense battle, lingering for nearly half a minute. It wasn’t until the engineering group, which had advanced to a dangerous position, built several temporary shelters that they continued the push after two rounds of saturating strikes that targeted their ambuscades, executed through portable engineering launchers.
Even though losses weren’t severe, the formation of the ambuscades that were instructed to charge based on preset commands was severely damaged, and under those army corps’ bombardment tactics (tactical movement coupled with immediate strikes through long-range attacks), they paid a huge price. They not only failed to conduct a successful pursuit but even lost over two-tenths of their vanguard troops.
But it doesn’t matter because Theresa had long realized the key point. The essence of the Blue team’s recent penetrating assault lay in timing differences, simply achieving pinpoint breakthroughs by exploiting the Red team’s west side troops’ need for rapid defensive repositioning due to multi-point attacks. As soon as they could punch a gap, the subsequent units could follow through, widening it to create a direct passage for the main forces. Ideally, they could directly insert one or two army groups into the Red team’s core control area, turning a central flower into a twin lotus. In this way, no matter how the Red team arranges, over twenty positions at the same time have the potential to be ’attacked from both sides’!
And Theresa’s counter was precisely placing several ambuscades filled with elite central troops.
This was an open strategy concealed under deceit. If the Blue side didn’t detect it, these ambuscades could easily drag them into a grinding battle, then form a forward encirclement to devour these nutritionally valuable corps.
It’s more likely, however, that the Blue team noticed the hint and chose to address the ambuscades first. No matter what methods the Black Vatican Priest used, timing-wise, they’d be too late, missing the Red team’s defensive repositioning gap and significantly reducing the threat.
From the results, although Motan responded to the ambuscades immediately, they still wasted almost half a minute, while the unavoidable gap on Theresa’s side was less than a brisk twenty seconds.
It’s not easy, but it’s holdable!
[How impressive!]
With a smile involuntarily spreading on her lips and eyes sparkling with excitement, Theresa took a deep breath, gathering her full attention, joyously engaging in this confrontation.
Simultaneously conducting thoughts on more than two threads, as precise and accurate as a machine, she dictated instructions to Lian beside her, while her hands wrote entirely different commands. Handling a massive amount of complex intelligence with 200% efficiency, she repeatedly thwarted Blue team’s waves of plans, and Theresa Tarosa finally maximized her ability.
In this world, many things are mutual, like how defenders in war have more advantages than attackers, yet attackers always hold the initiative. Whether it’s marching routes, attack timing, force dispatch, or troop configuration, these actions belong to the attacker’s privileges, and the defender can only prepare beforehand and react accordingly.
’Taking ease against the weary’ doesn’t exist in this simulation, as the Blue team’s offensive is perpetually unfolding, giving Theresa not even a second to breathe.
In a match of this caliber, any mistake by either side could be exponentially magnified, forming fatal flaws. Each failed attack by Motan could trigger a wild counteroffensive by the Red team, and every erroneous decision by Theresa could turn into additional strategic space for the Blue team, evolving into numerous new offensives mixing reality and illusion.
From the scene, the Red team indeed holds a significant advantage. Everyone knows that if Theresa endures this mad assault marshaled by more than five army groups, it essentially equates to victory.
Twenty minutes, is the time Theresa calculated on her own.
In this high-intensity relentless combat with drastically imbalanced attritional ratios, Red team’s position-based defense consumes far better than Blue team. In theory, within twenty minutes at most, Blue team’s forces would dwindle to a critical point. Though not directly losing combat capability, both their offense and threat would drop a notch, and by that time, the pressure on the defender would dramatically lessen. Theresa could basically secure her victory in advance.
