Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?
Chapter 1846: Romance in the Vineyard
Although Sophia still found it a bit hard to accept, since Zhang Jingdong said so, she couldn’t refuse any longer.
She took another serious look, then nodded enthusiastically: “Hmm, I like it.”
“As long as you like it, alright, let me teach you a few self-defense moves next.”
“… Okay.”
Zhang Jingdong leaned over and gave Sophia a kiss, then started the lesson.
Over the next hour or so, Zhang Jingdong taught Sophia five more moves, and this time, since they were in a hotel room and didn’t have to worry about being seen by passersby, Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but take various liberties during the lesson.
And since Sophia had already let things go this far earlier and loved the gift Zhang Jingdong prepared for her, she adopted a completely indulgent attitude toward him.
For a moment, the entire hotel room was filled with a romantic and dreamy atmosphere.
Around 11 p.m., Zhang Jingdong reluctantly left the room with Sophia and headed downstairs.
Sophia said to Zhang Jingdong, “It’s okay, I can go back by myself. You should get some rest early too.”
Zhang Jingdong laughed and said, “It’s late at night, and my girlfriend is so beautiful, you never know how many people have their eyes on you. I can’t give them any chance!”
Saying that, he wrapped his arm around Sophia’s waist.
Although Sophia felt a bit conflicted, she didn’t want to refuse Zhang Jingdong’s goodwill, so with a sweet smile, she nodded: “…Alright.”
Soon, Zhang Jingdong hailed a taxi, and they both got into the back seat.
The driver glanced in the rearview mirror: “Where to, you two?”
Sophia replied, “Lante Vineyard.”
After hearing this, the driver took another serious look at Sophia before slowly starting the car.
As soon as the taxi left, a black Mercedes not far away quickly followed.
Over half an hour later, the two cars stopped one after the other at the entrance of Lante Vineyard.
Zhang Jingdong said, “The vineyard your father runs is quite large. Can we take a look around?”
Sophia was slightly stunned, then nodded: “…Sure.”
Zhang Jingdong immediately took out his wallet, pulled out two hundred US Dollars, and handed it to the driver: “Thank you.”
But the other party said, “Mr. Lante is the most respected person in our town. It’s my honor to serve Miss Sophia and you, so I won’t take any money. Please enjoy your visit.”
Zhang Jingdong turned to look at Sophia, then casually produced a gold ring: “Since you won’t take money, consider this a gift.”
The driver glanced at it and hurriedly said, “No, no, this is too valuable. I can’t accept it!”
“Gifts are not about the value but the intention.”
Zhang Jingdong said as he placed the ring on the passenger seat: “Good luck to you!”
Then he got out of the car with Sophia.
Zhang Jingdong turned to glance at the Mercedes: “Is that your family car?”
Knowing she couldn’t hide it from him, Sophia nodded: “…Yes.”
Zhang Jingdong shrugged: “You should have told me earlier. If I had known, we could have taken that, and I wouldn’t have felt awkward kissing you on the way.”
Sophia rolled her eyes playfully: “You rascal.”
Zhang Jingdong laughed heartily, then glanced at the vineyard gate: “Let’s not go through the main entrance. I’m not ready to face your father’s interrogation yet.”
It was Sophia’s first time seeing Zhang Jingdong so scared, and a lovely arc appeared at the corner of her lips: “Are you that afraid to meet my father?”
Zhang Jingdong stubbornly said, “It’s not that I’m scared of other things. I’m afraid your father will see how outstanding and handsome I am and insist I become a son-in-law to your family, and I wouldn’t be able to refuse him.”
“You’re overthinking it. While my father isn’t lenient, he never forces others.”
“Alright, I’ll trust you this once. Let’s go through the main entrance!”
Sophia watched Zhang Jingdong’s heroic expression as if going to battle, and couldn’t help but laugh, leading him to the front and entering the vineyard through the main entrance.
Though her family’s vineyard was smaller than the Eight Great Vineyards, it was indeed a medium-to-large vineyard.
At the entrance was a row of castle-style buildings, and behind them were countless grapevines covering over 600 acres.
After entering, Sophia said to Zhang Jingdong, “Don’t worry, my father went to a wine association gathering tonight and will be back late. He’ll definitely be quite tipsy by then.”
Zhang Jingdong exaggeratedly puffed up his chest: “You should have said that earlier!”
Sophia couldn’t hold back her laughter: “It’s funny how you can handle bad guys better than Bruce Lee, yet are so nervous coming to my family’s vineyard.”
Zhang Jingdong spread his hands: “It’s called having a guilty conscience because of misdeeds, fearing ghosts knocking at night. If only we hadn’t, you know, at the hotel earlier, I wouldn’t be feeling guilty now.”
Hearing this, Sophia couldn’t help but recall the hotel incident earlier, and her face turned red: “You rascal! You better not tell anyone!”
“Of course, I wouldn’t tell anyone. What do you take me for?”
He said as he gently held Sophia’s delicate hand.
Sophia quickly said, “What are you doing? This is my family’s place!”
“Didn’t you say your father isn’t here, so what’s there to worry about?”
“But my mother is still here.”
Zhang Jingdong quickly looked around: “You should have said that earlier, where is she?”
Sophia raised her hand and pointed: “That’s my mother’s room, but she should have gone to the gathering with my father.”
“Hey, you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
“No, it’s just that sometimes my mother doesn’t go with my father to this gathering.”
Zhang Jingdong quickly blinked: “I guess those times were when your mother was mad at your father?”
