Chapter 93: Chapter 86: "Young Master, Does the Profound Array Department... Also Have Brothels?

"Ahem."

Qin Shoucheng let out a dry cough. After staring at Zeng Anmin for a long time, his hand beneath the desk subconsciously clenched into a fist. He didn’t even know why his fists always itched whenever he saw this brat...

Qin Shoucheng’s eyes widened in a glare. He had just been trying to think of an excuse to move Zeng Anmin to a different seat. Then, he spotted the Little Fatty Crown Prince standing behind Zeng Anmin.

His glaring eyes widened even further, his pupils contracting. The words on the tip of his tongue instantly dissolved into a violent fit of coughing.

"COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!"

"You... why are you here at the Imperial College?" Fortunately, his reaction wasn’t slow. Seeing that the Crown Prince was wearing ordinary clothes and hadn’t exposed his identity, Qin Shoucheng maintained a neutral attitude, grasping the measure of the situation perfectly.

"Uh, I followed Brother Quan Fu here. Please don’t mind me, sir. Just continue with your lecture," the Crown Prince said, a pure smile shining on his round face as he reached up with a chubby hand to pat his own head.

Hearing the Crown Prince’s words, Qin Shoucheng’s gaze grew even more blank. He wondered, "Quan Fu? And he even called him ’Brother’?" When had Zeng Anmin become so close to the Crown Prince?

This completely destroyed Qin Shoucheng’s motivation to care about why Zeng Anmin was sitting next to his daughter. For the rest of the class, his mind was completely zoned out. In his twenty years of teaching, this was the only time his mind wandered more than his students’ during a lecture. Fortunately, his wealth of educational experience prevented anyone from noticing anything amiss.

It wasn’t until the class was completely dismissed that Qin Shoucheng pretended to sit at his desk, picking up his Fountain Pen to make marks in his book. In reality, all his attention was focused squarely on Zeng Anmin and the Crown Prince.

"Brother Quan Fu, would you like to take my carriage back? I have a few questions I’d like to ask you about that frontier poem you composed yesterday," the Crown Prince said.

"No need, I have my own carriage," Zeng Anmin flatly refused.

"Oh? Has Brother Quan Fu produced a new work?" Qin Wanyue’s eyes lit up as she gazed gracefully at the Little Fatty Crown Prince, a hint of anticipation in her limpid, autumn-water eyes.

The Little Fatty Crown Prince smiled modestly. He looked first at Qin Wanyue, then turned his gaze to Zeng Anmin, wiggling his eyebrows. It was a look every man understood.

Zeng Anmin’s mouth twitched. The mysterious, aristocratic aura the Crown Prince had exuded during their first meeting yesterday had completely vanished into thin air, leaving behind nothing but an impatient little fatty.

"You might not know this, Miss, but even though yesterday was my first time meeting Brother Quan Fu, I was deeply moved by his brilliant talent," the Little Fatty Crown Prince said, looking at Qin Wanyue with utmost seriousness.

"I am all ears," Qin Wanyue said, the anticipation on her face growing even stronger.

Naturally, Wang Yuanzhen wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip by. He took a deep breath, his gaze turning profound and distant, and recited, "Black clouds press down upon the city, threatening to crush it; armor catches the sun, gleaming like golden scales."

As he spoke, his voice was the only sound echoing throughout the entire hall. Up on the podium, Qin Shoucheng’s expression shifted wildly, deeply shaken by the magnificent poem.

Zeng Anmin was somewhat speechless. He thought, "Bro, you are the Crown Prince of a nation! Why are you acting like a protagonist’s sidekick from those trashy novels in my past life? You have zero coolness factor."

Once the poem was finished, Qin Wanyue’s lips were pressed tightly together. Her eyes were glazed with wonder as she murmured to herself, "Bearing the Jade Dragon sword, I shall die for my lord..."

"Alright, I’m leaving now." Zeng Anmin glanced at the Crown Prince and walked straight toward the door.

"Wait for me!" the Crown Prince cried out, his chubby little legs working furiously as he hurried after Zeng Anmin.

They left behind a dazed Qin Wanyue, who stared blankly at the doorway without moving a muscle. It was only after a long while that she finally spoke, her voice like a soft confession. "Brother Quan Fu’s talent is unparalleled. It truly fills one with yearning."

SNAP.

The sound of a snapping Fountain Pen rang out abruptly from the podium. Like a startled deer, Qin Wanyue immediately snapped her head up. Her face was flushed bright red as she looked at Qin Shoucheng on the podium.

"Father, you’re... you’re still here?"

Qin Shoucheng nodded expressionlessly, pretending to reorganize the broken pieces of his Fountain Pen. "Mhm. Let’s go. We’re heading home first."

"Okay," Qin Wanyue replied softly, lowering her head. Feeling her cheeks burning hot, she wished the ground would just open up and swallow her whole.

There were very few day students at the Imperial College. This was because day students typically lived in the Capital City, and no matter the dynasty, houses in the Capital City were not something average people could afford. After brushing off the Crown Prince with a few perfunctory words, Zeng Anmin mounted his horse and headed home.

CLOP CLOP CLOP.

The sound of hooves grew fainter and fainter until it completely faded away.

The Little Fatty Crown Prince watched Zeng Anmin’s departing figure, a look of fierce determination surfacing on his face. "In ancient times, the Grand Ancestor made three requests for Celestial Master Xu to come out of seclusion. Today, I, Wang Yuanzhen, will do the same to study under Quan Fu. I will not give up on Brother Quan Fu. I believe that sooner or later, he will be moved by my sincerity."

He tightly clenched his chubby little fists, his face as radiant as the setting sun.

However, the pitiful little fatty didn’t know the truth. When the Grand Ancestor of the Great Saint Dynasty made his "three requests" to Celestial Master Xu, it involved him rolling up his sleeves and physically beating Celestial Master Xu to a pulp three separate times until the man finally submitted.

The Crown Prince was just another poor soul deceived by the history books.

"Young Master, you’ve finally returned."

The moment Zeng Anmin dismounted, he was greeted by the urgent voice of a servant.

"What happened?" Zeng Anmin frowned, looking at Dachun as he walked over.

"Young Master Hu Zi has been crying and asking for his father ever since he came back from the academy today," Dachun said respectfully.

"Alright."

Zeng Anmin made his way into the courtyard. It took him nearly half an hour of walking before he stepped into Aunt Lin’s Plum Blossom Courtyard.

The moment he crossed the threshold, he heard Hu Zi’s crying.

WAAAH.

Alongside it was the sound of Aunt Lin trying to comfort him.

"What’s going on?" Zeng Anmin asked as he pushed open the door. He saw Hu Zi leaning over Aunt Lin’s back, weeping with extreme grievance.
