Chapter 1454: Chapter 1453: That Is a Priceless Gift
Looking at the teddy bear in his hand, Shirley Grant was a bit puzzled about what Gerry Peary was trying to express.
The others present were equally confused.
"It’s my fault for not protecting the teddy bear. Wuwuwuwu..."
Suddenly, Gerry Peary’s tears started streaming down uncontrollably.
"Gerry, don’t cry, it’s okay, it’s okay."
Shirley Grant immediately began to comfort him.
"Because it’s Mom’s favorite teddy bear, Mom said it was the only gift Dad ever gave to her, Mom often hugged the teddy and cried, but I couldn’t protect it!! Wuwuwuwu..."
Hearing Gerry’s words, Shirley Grant’s tears also started to fall.
She never expected that Gerry, at such a young age, understood so much.
These years, she wasn’t the only one who suffered.
Gerry understood everything.
At an age when he should know nothing, he was too mature, too observant, which was heartbreaking.
"Mom, I want to give you a teddy bear that looks exactly the same."
Gerry wiped his tears and then handed the teddy bear to Shirley Grant.
Looking at the teddy bear, Shirley Grant’s tears fell once more. She covered her mouth with her hand, sobbing uncontrollably.
Seeing Shirley like this made Alan Morgan’s heart ache too. He reached out and embraced both of them.
"Don’t cry!"
No one should cry anymore; everything is already over.
Watching the family of three like this, Alan’s mother secretly wiped away a tear.
She never realized the impact her actions would cause.
The time spent with Gerry already softened her heart.
"Mom, please don’t be sad, don’t hide and cry anymore, okay?"
Gerry lifted his head, reaching out to wipe Shirley Grant’s tears.
"Okay, Mommy won’t cry anymore. Mommy won’t be sad anymore and won’t leave you, Gerry."
No matter how far apart, she’ll always come back to him.
Alan Morgan reached out and wiped Shirley Grant’s tears as well.
"You’ll have me from now on."
No matter what happens, you’ll have me.
Shirley Grant nodded, then hugged them both tightly.
...
After not staying long at the sanatorium, Alan Morgan and Shirley Grant brought Gerry back directly to the Royal Bay Villa.
"Wow, is this Dad’s house?"
Looking at the decor, Gerry was full of curiosity.
"There’s a room for you upstairs, you can check it out."
Alan Morgan spoke, and then poured a glass of water for Shirley Grant.
They watched Gerry happily go upstairs, both smiling.
"Did you keep that teddy bear all along?"
Alan Morgan suddenly spoke, breaking the silence in the living room.
"But I couldn’t keep it."
Shirley Grant spoke softly, and remembering those past times made the smile on her face gradually fade away.
In fact, she hadn’t let go, but had become weathered.
"I’ll give you a new one."
Though it’s not the one from before, I’ll give you one.
Hearing Alan Morgan’s words, Shirley Grant instantly smiled.
"I’m not that silly girl I used to be, do you think a teddy bear can lure me away?"
Wishful thinking.
Hearing her words, Alan Morgan chuckled.
"I’ve already succeeded, there’s no need to try again. You’ve already given me a son; do you still have a chance to back out?"
With that, Alan Morgan leaned in and kissed Shirley Grant on the lips.
"Dad, Mom, what are you doing?"
Oh no!
Instantly, the two on the sofa separated.
