James said, "You go first. My body is stronger enough to take it."

"But..."

James interrupted, "If you continue to refuse, I’ll take a bath with you."

Only then did she stop talking. She went into the bathroom with a red face.

When she came out, she found that he was still waiting at the door. She was stunned for a moment and then quickly stepped aside.

"It’s your turn now."

He did not speak, but his hot eyes fell on the white neck outside her bathrobe.

Feeling his gaze on her, Yvonne felt a little awkward. Just as she was about to walk past him, he stopped her.

"Wait for me."

He whispered in her ear, and his magnetic voice had a trace of charm.

He seemed to be hinting at something.

She was slightly stunned. Before she could react, the bathroom door was closed.

Only then did she realize his words. Her cheeks turned red all the way to her ears.

After a long while, she walked to the bed and sat down, wiping her wet hair.

But when she thought of his passionate eyes, she suddenly felt a little nervous.

"He wants to... " While she was thinking, the doorbell rang.

She paused for a moment, and then stood up to open the door, only to find Mrs.

Taylor standing outside.

"Mom."

When the door was opened, Mrs. Taylor walked in with tow bowls of ginger soup.

"Where is James? Is he still taking a shower?" Mrs. Taylor asked as she walked in.

Yvonne nodded her head.

Mrs. Taylor walked up to the coffee table and put down the tray. "Drink your ginger soup while it’s still hot. Don’t catch a cold."

As she spoke, she passed over a bowl of ginger soup.

Yvonne reached out to take it, but she stared at the bowl of ginger soup, feeling a little embarrassed. She didn’t like eating ginger before. Although she knew that ginger soup did have the effect of expelling coldness, she still could not drink it.

Seeing that she didn’t drink, Mrs. Taylor urged, "What’s wrong? Drink it while it’s

hot."

Then Yvonne knew that she had to drink it. When she was about to pinch her nose and drink it, the bowl of ginger soup was taken by James.

"I’ll drink first."

As he spoke, he drank up the ginger soup. When he put down the bowl, he winked at Yvonne.

Yvonne instantly understood and looked at him gratefully.

Mrs. Taylor didn’t notice their small gesture and complained, "There’s still another bowl. What are you snatching hers for?"

Mrs. Taylor glared at her son.

James then said, "Mom, I will supervise her to drink it later. You can leave now. I have to change my clothes."

Therefore, Mrs. Taylor didn’t stay any longer. She only told Yvonne to drink it while it was hot before leaving.

After seeing Mrs. Taylor off, Yvonne heaved a sigh of relief.

"Thank you for helping me out."

James dried his hair and walked up to her. He looked down at her face and said softly, "Don’t just thank me verbally. Show some sincerity."

With a faint smile, he seemed to be hinting at something.

Yvonne thought of what he had said before entering the bathroom: "Wait for me." Her face immediately turned red.

She lowered her head and pursed her lips. "Then how do you want me to thank you?"

James slowly lifted her chin and reminded, "You said you wanted to have a baby with me."

His words were so straightforward that Yvonne could not help coughing dryly. "Then... what do you want me to do?"

...

Hearing this, James pretended to be deep in thought for a moment before saying, "Why don’t you tell me what you will do?"

"Huh?" Yvonne was confused.

"For example, kissing or something else."

His gaze lingered on her face.

Yvonne was a little embarrassed by his gaze. She broke away from his hand and said, "I don’t know anything."

She turned around reproachfully.

James chuckled and stepped forward. He hugged her from behind, put his head on her shoulder, and said in a tempting tone, "Then... let me teach you."

"OK."

Yvonne threw caution to the wind.

Hearing her words, his eyes darkened. He leaned closer to her ear and whispered, "Really?"

Yvonne felt uncomfortable because of his hot breath. She couldn’t stand such teasing. Then she embarrassedly broke away from him and said, "Don’t you believe me?"

As she spoke, she walked to the bed.

James stared at the shy woman, his eyes full of laughter. He slowly stepped forward and put his hand on her shoulder, saying, "Of course I believe you, but before that, let’s dry your hair first."

After saying that, he placed her on the edge of the bed and retrieved a hairdryer from the table. He blew on her hair.

She did not say anything and allowed him to blow on her hair.

The warm wind blew into her heart along with her hair.

"This winter might not be cold anymore," thought she.

After this day, their lives gradually went on the right track.

Apart from the bowl of medicine for pregnancy she usually drank every night, her life was very harmonious.

Gradually, both of them forgot the unhappy things that happened before.

Until one day, an uninvited guest arrived at the company.

This person was Grace White.

When Yvonne saw her, she was holding a pile of documents in her hands. Before she saw Grace, she had almost forgotten this person.

However, when she saw her at this moment, it was as if a lifetime had passed.

She almost subconsciously turned around to leave, but it was too late. Grace had already arrived in front of her.

"What’s wrong, my good niece? Why don’t you say hello to your aunt?" Grace’s tone was as sarcastic as before.

Yvonne knew that she couldn’t avoid her. Therefore, she stared at her and did not call her "Aunt" as she wished. Instead, she greeted her distantly and politely, "Ms.WhiteMs. White."

Grace was a little surprised to see Yvonne here.

After all, as far as she knew, her niece had never asked about the company’s affairs.

<She had never cared about the business affairs when she was in the White Group. However, after she got married, she actually began to care about them.>

Grace looked at Yvonne with interest in her eyes.

Then she sneered, "Yvonne, oh, no. Should I call you Mrs. Taylor now?"

Yvonne did not care at all.

She had never gotten along well with Grace, so she was already used to her sarcastic remarks.

Moreover, she now had a position in Taylor Group, even if it was not an important position.

But more or less, it represented the Taylor Group.

She couldn’t become the joke for her.

Thinking of this, she controlled her anger and said very politely, "Mrs. White, you can call me whatever you want. However, I have to remind you of your identity."

Grace realized that Yvonne had become calmer in the past days. She sneered, "It seems that you are really different. You have learned a lot from James."

She sneered and walked past her, but then she thought of something. She stopped and asked, "Oh, right, I forgot to ask you. Is James here?"

Yvonne asked, "Why are you looking for him?"

Grace glanced at her and said, "What? Now you are caring about his business? I can tell you frankly that I’m here to sign an agreement with him."

Then Yvonne remembered the agreement that James had signed with her.

Although she did not know the specific content, she knew that Grace must want it.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t be so active.

She paused for a moment before saying, "It’s not impossible to meet Mr. Taylor, but you’ll have to make an appointment in advance. Do you have an appointment, Ms. White?"

"No, but with you around, do I still need it?

With that, she sneered and turned to James’ office.

Yvonne wanted to stop her, but it was too late. Grace had already pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing this, she had no choice but to follow. However, as soon as she reached the door, she stopped. <What could I say if I go in at this time? Even if I know that she has ulterior motives, what could I say? It is me who begged James to agree.>

Thinking of this, she turned around with some chagrin.

When Grace pushed the door open and went in, James was buried in the case.

He did not look up. When he heard the door open, he thought that Yvonne had come in.

After all, Yvonne was the only one in the company who did not need to knock on the door.

"How ever did you get here so quickly?" He spoke in a very doting tone.

When Grace heard this, she immediately understood that he thought of her as Yvonne. She sneered in her heart, "It seems that James really likes my niece."

She stopped smiling and walked over. "How have you been, Mr. Taylor?"

Hearing this, James looked up. When he saw that what came in was not Yvonne but Grace, his warm eyes suddenly turned cold.

"Why are you here?"

As he spoke, he leaned against the chair and threw aside the pen in his hand. He was obviously a little unhappy.

Grace glanced at his expression and said nonchalantly, "You didn’t answer the phone, so I have no choice but to visit you myself."

"Is that so?"

James pretended to think about it and said, "Maybe the phone was on silent."

"I knew it. Mr. Taylor didn’t mean to not answer my call."

Grace was a smart person. Although she knew that he did not answer the phone on purpose, she would not expose it. She wanted to save herself some face.

James frowned and asked, "What’s the matter, Ms. White?"

"Mr. Taylor, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten about the agreement."

Only then did James put on a look as if he had suddenly remembered something. He

patted his forehead and said, "Excuse my poor memory. I really forgot if Ms. White didn’t remind me."

"You..."

Grace was already suppressing her anger. It had been nearly a month since they had signed the agreement, and she had also waited almost a month, but he had forgotten.

"Is this the attitude a cooperation should have?" Grace thought.

Even so, Grace couldn’t lose her temper. As the impatient one, she suppressed her anger and said, "Mr. Taylor is a busy man. It’s understandable that you don’t remember it."

...

James originally wanted to disgust her, but he didn’t expect her to be not angry at all.

It seemed that Grace was very patient in order to get funding from the Taylor Group. He snorted, "It turns out that Ms. White is so generous."

Grace could hear the sarcasm in his voice, but she still let out a calm laugh. "Mr.

Taylor, since you are aware of the situation, when will you pay the money?

Therefore, I will be able to arrange the follow-up work."

Hearing this, James laughed, "Money? Have you forgotten, Ms. White? There is a third party."

Hearing James mention the third party, Grace sneered, "Mr. Taylor, that’s unkind of you to say that. You’re the one who insisted on adding a third party. I don’t know anything about it, and now you’re using it as an excuse. How can I believe that you don’t have ulterior motives?"

James immediately understood her implication.

<Now that the White Group is in jeopardy and Grace is waiting for the capital to save the company. She is probably here to seek a result and could not be fooled by a third party easily. But the reason why I put forward a third party back then is that I have never planned on giving her that sum of money.>

However, since he had already lied, he would definitely make amends.

"Ms. White, you don’t have to be in such a hurry. It’s just money. It’s not a big deal."

Grace’s eyes lit up. "So, you agreed to invest?"

He said, "Of course, but as you know, it’s not easy to pull out such a large sum of money. We have to have a plan."

Hearing this, Grace narrowed her eyes hesitantly. She had thought that James would agree and immediately invest money, but he refused again.

<What he is up to? No matter what he is up to, I couldn’t afford to wait any longer. Otherwise, the White Group would go bankrupt.>

Then she nodded. "Of course. But, Mr. Taylor, you have to give me an exact date."

James knocked on the table with his slender fingers. "Of course. How about a week?"

A trace of dissatisfaction flashed across Grace’s eyes, "Isn’t a week too long? Three days, how about that?"

"Three days?" James sneered, "Ms. White can’t even wait for a week, which makes me suspect White Group’s current situation."

James deliberately questioned.

This made Grace panic a little. No matter what, she could not let James notice anything. Thinking of this, she said, "Okay, a week. I’ll be waiting for your account."

"Of course."

"Since that’s the case, I won’t disturb you anymore."

Then she turned around and walked out of the door.

James stared at her back and sneered.

As soon as Grace walked out of the office, she met Yvonne, who was standing outside.

Seeing that she looked a little flustered when she came out, Grace immediately understood.

"I can’t believe Mrs. Taylor has the habit of eavesdropping. It won’t be nice if this gets out."

Her face was full of sarcasm.

Yvonne felt a little guilty, but she was not in the mood to argue with her about this.

She had heard what they were talking about just now.

She thought, "Is James really going to invest in the White Group in a week?"
