Chapter 2163: Chapter 2162: Proper Training
Jing Xiaocha looked at Wen Jin in surprise.
She seemed especially taken aback by his actions.
That was the milk she had drunk, and Wen Jin not only didn’t mind, but where he drank, just so happened to be the spot she had just drunk from.
Does this count as an indirect kiss?
Thinking of this, she felt her cheeks flush and subconsciously looked away. She silently scolded herself for overthinking.
After Wen Jin finished the remaining half glass of milk, he placed the cup on the small table by the bed and then asked Jing Xiaocha, “Have you finished writing?”
“I’ve finished.”
“Have you corrected the typos?”
“Uh, not yet, I was about to correct the typos, but I forgot when I started reading the comments.” Jing Xiaocha touched her forehead embarrassedly.
“Take a break, I’ll help you correct the typos.” Wen Jin said as he reached for the laptop.
“No, no need, Brother Wen, I’ll correct them myself.”
As soon as he offered to help correct the typos, Jing Xiaocha panicked.
These past few days she did it herself, thinking she would read the comments and then correct the typos later, but she forgot Wen Jin would be back to help her with the typos.
The content she wrote these days was not suitable for him to read.
Seeing the panic in Jing Xiaocha’s expression, a trace of surprise flashed in Wen Jin’s dark eyes, “Or is it not finished yet?”
“No, that’s not it.”
Jing Xiaocha looked a little uneasy.
Her slender hand held a corner of the laptop; in fact, she wasn’t strong enough to hold on against Wen Jin. If Wen Jin exerted force, she wouldn’t be able to reclaim it.
“Then why?”
Wen Jin squinted slightly at Jing Xiaocha.
Did she grow unaccustomed to him not helping her check typos these past days?
Jing Xiaocha blinked, “Just a few typos, I can correct them myself, Brother Wen, you’ve just returned from outside, go wash up first.”
“Since it’s just a few typos, it won’t take much time. You’ve been working so long, you should rest a bit first.”
Wen Jin gently moved Jing Xiaocha’s hand, placing the laptop on his lap.
The moment he held her hand, Jing Xiaocha’s heart fluttered, as if she were possessed by the novel’s heroine.
Suddenly she felt the heartbeat and shyness of the heroine when the hero held her hand.
Wen Jin gave her a puzzled look, opened the software, and asked, “How many words did you write today?”
“Six thousand.”
Jing Xiaocha answered softly.
After hesitating for a moment and unable to come up with a reason to stop Wen Jin, she used an excuse, “Brother Wen, I’ll just take the cup downstairs, take your time checking.”
Without waiting for Wen Jin to stop her, Jing Xiaocha grabbed the cup from the bedside table and walked out.
If Wen Jin didn’t understand why she was so flustered earlier, now watching her flee, he suddenly had an inkling.
Lowering his head, he quickly skimmed through the content on the laptop, and soon Wen Jin found the reason.
Just as he had thought.
He glanced again toward the door, where Jing Xiaocha had hurriedly left without even closing it.
After taking the cup downstairs, Jing Xiaocha didn’t immediately return to her room but went to Zhang Minghui’s room.
Zhang Minghui was reading an extracurricular book. When he saw Jing Xiaocha come in, he immediately stood up and politely greeted her, “Aunt.”
“Little Hui, still reading?”
Jing Xiaocha smiled as she walked over to him.
Zhang Minghui nodded, hesitated a bit, and softly asked, “Aunt, can I call my parents?”
Jing Xiaocha paused for a second, then nodded, “Of course you can, but my phone is in my room, so you’ll have to go get it.”
“Okay.”
Getting permission, Zhang Minghui quickly replied, set down his book, and ran out of the room.
In less than two minutes, he was back with Jing Xiaocha’s phone, “Aunt, Uncle Wen is looking for you.”
“Ignore him, make your call first.”
Jing Xiaocha acted composed, but her mind raced, thinking about how to face Wen Jin later when she returned to her room.
Would he ask anything?
Or should she wait until he leaves to go back?
Zhang Minghui simply passed on Wen Jin’s message. Seeing Jing Xiaocha wasn’t going back, he said no more and dialed his father’s number, which he had memorized.
The phone rang several times before Zhang Jinlei’s voice came through with some background noise, “Hello?”
“It’s me, Little Hui.”
“Little Hui, do you miss Dad?” Zhang Jinlei sounded very pleased to hear Zhang Minghui’s voice.
“When are you free? I want to meet you.” Zhang Minghui glanced at Jing Xiaocha beside him, speaking stiffly.
Jing Xiaocha’s eyes flickered, but she didn’t speak, just quietly watched Zhang Minghui’s call.
Two minutes later, Zhang Minghui ended the call and, returning the phone to Jing Xiaocha, explained, “Aunt, when I see my dad tomorrow, I’ll tell him never to speak nonsense and spread rumors again.”
“That’s all in the past.”
Jing Xiaocha shook her head indifferently; whatever Zhang Jinlei might have done, it had nothing to do with Little Hui.
Zhang Minghui wasn’t willing to change his mind, speaking in a determined tone, “I won’t let anyone hurt Aunt, not even my parents. If they don’t agree, I’ll cut ties with them.”
“Little Hui, no matter how bad they are, they are the ones who gave birth to and raised you. It was just that their way of educating you was wrong, but they’ve been good to you. You can’t cut ties with them over me.”
“But they’ve treated Aunt so poorly.”
“As long as Little Hui is good to Aunt, it’s enough.” Jing Xiaocha gently touched Zhang Minghui’s head.
Zhang Minghui comforted, “It’s not just Little Hui who likes Aunt; Uncle Wen likes Aunt too.”
“…”
Jing Xiaocha’s mouth twitched slightly.
“Aunt, Uncle Wen seems to have something to discuss with you, you should hurry back to your room. He’s still waiting for you there.”
“No rush, he’ll be fine.”
Jing Xiaocha replied with a smile.
She simply walked to a chair a few steps away and sat down, asking Zhang Minghui, “Do you have any plans for the holiday?”
“Aunt, wait a moment.”
Zhang Minghui said, running to the desk a few steps away to grab a notebook and returning to hand it over respectfully to Jing Xiaocha, “Aunt, this is my plan and a chart I made.”
Jing Xiaocha smiled as she accepted his notebook.
After reading his plans and the chart he made, admiration showed in Jing Xiaocha’s eyes, “Little Hui, you’ve done brilliantly.”
“Aunt, Ziyi taught me.”
“Is Ziyi so young yet knows how to write plans and make charts?” Jing Xiaocha looked at him, slightly surprised.
Zhang Minghui nodded, eyes filled with admiration for Mo Ziye, “Aunt, although Ziyi is younger than me, he knows so much more. I really admire him; he even teaches Qingqing to read every day now.”
“Really?”
“Yes, Ziyi says he wants to train Qingqing to be a talented girl.”
“Train?”
Jing Xiaocha was once again surprised, are children these days maturing so early?
Zhang Minghui, on the other hand, felt slightly embarrassed as he scratched his head, “That’s what Ziyi said, that he would train Qingqing well.”
