Chapter 2151 - 2150: Thinking of You Every Day

Ou Yihan nodded, indicating that she understood.

Mother Ou didn’t come over, but stood at the end of the corridor watching her being supported by Shi Tian as she walked over.

When they were still a few steps away, Mother Ou scolded unhappily, "I leave for a while, and you’re already misbehaving."

"Mom, I just came out to move around. Lying in bed all day, I’m almost unable to walk."

Ou Yihan pouted, giving Mother Ou a playful smile.

"Hmph."

Mother Ou was still upset, her displeasure showing plainly on her face, "You had to come up here to move around? Can’t you exercise elsewhere?"

"Mom, don’t be angry, getting angry causes wrinkles."

Ou Yihan reached out to hold Mother Ou’s hand. She was glared at but not brushed off.

"Mom, it’s not Wen Jin and Xiaocha’s fault about that day; he wasn’t with Xiaocha before we broke up, and I was the one who initiated the breakup."

"Fine, I won’t blame them then."

Mother Ou gave her a sideways glance, "Regardless, you got hurt because of Wen Jin. He shouldn’t have gotten back together with Jing Xiaocha so eagerly before you healed."

"Yihan, Auntie is right. What happened was Wen Jin’s fault; he’s the man, so he should take all the blame."

Shi Tian agreed with a smile and winked at Ou Yihan.

"Mom, why don’t I get discharged and go home to recuperate? That way, you won’t dwell on unhappy things all day."

"Can you be discharged?"

"Yes, why not? I work here at the hospital, and I really want to escape during this break, go home, and breathe the fresh air in the garden."

Ou Yihan looked expectant, which softened Mother Ou’s heart.

**

Wen Jin didn’t come to the hospital, not entirely because of Jing Xiaocha’s words, but because he happened to be on a business trip.

When Ou Yihan called him, he had just booked his flight ticket and was preparing to return to G City.

At eight o’clock in the evening, Wen Jin came straight to the hospital from the airport.

He went to Ou Yihan’s ward first. Mother Ou wasn’t as warm or friendly towards him as before and seemed a bit angry.

Ou Yihan signaled to Wen Jin with her eyes not to get angry with her mom. Wen Jin smiled warmly and courteously greeted, "Auntie."

"Sit down."

Mother Ou sighed softly, ultimately acknowledging Wen Jin under her daughter’s indication.

"Yihan, how is your wound healing?"

Wen Jin thanked Mother Ou, sat down on a chair by the bed, and asked about Ou Yihan’s condition with concern.

"It’s healing very well; the wound has closed. I was even telling my mom this afternoon that I want to go home to recuperate and breathe some fresh air."

Ou Yihan replied with a cheerful smile.

Wen Jin immediately frowned, "How can that be? You should stay in the hospital for a couple more days until the wound is completely healed before being discharged."

"How is the lawsuit against Zheng Shirui progressing?"

Next to them, Mother Ou, who hadn’t spoken, suddenly interjected. Previously, the matter had been entrusted to Wen Jin.

Now, since Yihan and Wen Jin are no longer together, she thought it would be best if they found their own lawyer.

"Don’t worry, Auntie, everything is proceeding as it should."

Wen Jin raised his head and gave Mother Ou a gentle smile, calmly responding.

"You didn’t drop the lawsuit against Zheng Shirui because of Jing Xiaocha?" Mother Ou questioned Wen Jin skeptically.

Wen Jin shook his head, "Auntie, Xiaocha is willing to forgive Zheng Shirui; that’s her personal choice. But Zheng Shirui did violate the law and should be held accountable."

Implying that while Jing Xiaocha might forgive Zheng Shirui, he would not.

"The original target for Zheng Shirui’s intended kidnapping was Xiaocha. If she gives up the lawsuit, is it still viable?" Ou Yihan asked worriedly.

She didn’t understand legal matters well.

"But the people they kidnapped also included you, and they injured you."

Wen Jin looked serious, "Xiaocha only promised not to sue. If necessary, she wouldn’t refuse to testify in court."

A flash of surprise crossed Ou Yihan’s eyes.

"I thought since Xiaocha was willing to forgive Zheng Shirui, if you couldn’t continue handling this, I would find another lawyer."

"No need for you to find another lawyer."

**

Jing Xiaocha was unaware of Wen Jin’s business trip.

Although Wen Ran had been visiting her every day, she never mentioned her brother.

Jing Xiaocha naturally didn’t bring up anything about Wen Jin. In this regard, her thoughts were quite similar to Ou Yihan’s.

And that was the desire to be discharged.

When Wen Jin opened the door, Jing Xiaocha had just finished working, closed her notebook, and placed it on the small table by the bed.

Upon hearing the door open, she looked up towards the entrance.

Originally, she thought it was a nurse, but to her surprise, her gaze met with Wen Jin’s handsome figure and familiar face.

Her eyes widened suddenly.

Even though Ou Yihan had mentioned calling Wen Jin earlier that afternoon,

she hadn’t expected him to show up by dinner time.

With it already being nearly nine o’clock, his sudden appearance still stunned her.

Seeing her surprised expression, a flicker of emotion passed through Wen Jin’s eyes as he closed the door and approached her bedside, "I was on a business trip the past couple of days and just returned tonight."

"You were on a business trip?"

Jing Xiaocha blinked, mechanically repeating his words.

Wen Jin nodded, his deep dark eyes showing a hint of softness, looking down at her closely, "Otherwise, what did you think had kept me from visiting you at the hospital?"

"..."

Wasn’t it because I asked you not to come, so you didn’t come?

Jing Xiaocha thought silently but didn’t voice her thoughts.

Wen Jin understood her unspoken words, his lips curling slightly.

He naturally sat down on the edge of the bed, meeting her eyes from up close.

His warm masculine scent lingered near her nose, "Did you really think that, because you told me not to come, I wouldn’t really come?"

Jing Xiaocha instinctively bit her lip.

"Did you feel sad because I didn’t visit you these past days?"

Wen Jin’s lips curved deeper, his eyes filled with a gentle smile.

"How could I feel sad?"

Jing Xiaocha would never admit it, but there was indeed a tiny sense of loss in her heart.

Maybe she had grown accustomed to Wen Jin’s daily presence over the past few days, to his care, and suddenly he stopped coming.

Even though she was the one who asked him not to come, there was still a little feeling of loss and sadness, for which she even scolded herself.

"You weren’t sad, and didn’t miss me?"

"I didn’t have time to miss you."

Wen Jin chuckled softly, his smile tinged with affection as he reached out to tousle Jing Xiaocha’s hair. She frowned and pouted unhappily.

Wen Jin withdrew his hand, "Alright, it seems I was being overly sentimental. You didn’t miss me at all these past days, but I thought about you every day, worried that you weren’t resting properly in the hospital, worried about the wound on your arm, and worried you’d be sad because I didn’t come to see you."

"..."

Listening to his deep, gentle voice express how he missed her, cared for her, and worried about her, Jing Xiaocha felt warmth spreading in her heart.

Her heart skipped a beat uncontrollably.
