Chapter 2094: Chapter 2093: Ziyi’s Phone Call
Ou Yihan suddenly broke into a happy smile, her eyes filled with happiness and sweetness, “As long as you say I’m pretty, that’s enough.”
“But, you dressed up so beautifully to cook… why not have Aunt Chen do it?”
Wen Jin said, glancing outside again.
No sign of Aunt Chen.
“I took the liberty of giving Aunt Chen the night off, you won’t blame me, right?”
Ou Yihan said with a flicker of guilt in her eyes.
Wen Jin blinked in surprise but quickly shook his head, “Aunt Chen never had a holiday, now that you mention it, I realize I’ve been neglectful.”
“You didn’t drink any alcohol during the social events?”
Ou Yihan stepped forward and deliberately sniffed Wen Jin’s clothes, not a trace of alcohol.
Wen Jin shook his head, looking at Ou Yihan standing in front of him, tilting her face slightly because she was half a head shorter, “I didn’t drink.”
“Then let’s have a couple of glasses tonight, with so much wine at your place, if I don’t help you drink, when will you ever finish it?”
Ou Yihan chuckled softly and stepped back, “You take the dishes out first.”
Ten minutes later, Wen Jin and Ou Yihan had carried all the dishes into the dining room.
“Ah Jin, wait a moment.”
Ou Yihan didn’t sit down; she told Wen Jin and then dashed out of the dining room.
Wen Jin poured the red wine into crystal goblets, and at that moment, Ou Yihan came in holding a few red candles, casually flipping off the dining room lights.
The dining room suddenly fell into darkness.
“Ah Jin, the lighter.”
Ou Yihan called out with a smile, carrying the candles to the table.
Wen Jin fished out a lighter and lit it, and Ou Yihan placed the burning candles on the table, saying gently with a smile, “Doesn’t this feel more atmospheric? Originally, I thought of making Western food, but I worried you might not like it, so I made some home-cooked dishes instead…”
The effect of candlelight is different from that of electric lights.
Once several candles were lit, the whole dining room was bathed in red candlelight, the light flickering with the candle flames.
Ou Yihan, already dressed in a red dress, had a faint blush on her fair cheeks, and her smiling elegance was indescribably charming.
“Ah Jin, thank you for letting me know you.”
Ou Yihan held her crystal goblet with slender fingers, extending it slightly forward, speaking softly to Wen Jin.
Wen Jin’s lips held a warm curve, his jet-black eyes reflecting Ou Yihan’s face, and when her glass extended over, he reached out as well. The two crystal glasses clinked in the air.
The clink made an ethereal sound.
“Don’t drink too much, you haven’t had dinner yet, eat something first.”
After sipping some red wine, Wen Jin put down his glass and spoke to Ou Yihan.
Ou Yihan nodded with a soft laugh, touched by Wen Jin’s concern, “Alright, I’ll drink less, let’s eat.”
She said, serving Wen Jin some food.
Wen Jin also served her.
With only the two of them, the candlelit dinner was romantic and cozy, Ou Yihan picked light topics, keeping the atmosphere joyful.
Wen Jin, though having attended social events, hadn’t eaten much, and Ou Yihan’s cooking was quite good, so he ate some more and drank two glasses of wine.
Ou Yihan tended to blush when drinking, and after a glass of red wine, her cheeks turned rosy, even more enchanting under the candlelight.
After dining, Ou Yihan wanted to clean up the tableware, but Wen Jin looked at her flushed cheeks and stopped her, “Go rest outside first, I’ll clean up.”
“No way, a task should have a beginning and an end.”
Ou Yihan shook her head, and in the end, Wen Jin and she together cleaned up the tableware in the kitchen, leaving it for Aunt Chen to wash the next day.
Just as Wen Jin turned to return to the living room, Ou Yihan hugged him from behind.
Wen Jin’s tall body stiffened.
“Ah Jin.”
Ou Yihan’s hands wrapped around Wen Jin’s slim waist, her heart beating like a drum, pounding heavily in her ears.
This was her first time being so proactive.
Her heart filled with nervousness, excitement, and a subtle fear.
Afraid of being rejected by Wen Jin.
Feeling Wen Jin’s body slightly tense, she tightened her grip on his waist and softly called again, “Ah Jin.”
“What’s the matter?”
Wen Jin slowly turned around, looking at Ou Yihan embracing him from behind.
His eyes flickered, just about to react when the ringtone from his pocket suddenly interrupted inappropriately.
The beautiful and romantic atmosphere was instantly shattered.
Like a tight-knit net suddenly torn open by someone, embarrassment flooded the scene.
Ou Yihan’s eyes widened in shock, dropping her raised foot to the floor.
The atmosphere suddenly turned awkward.
Wen Jin looked at Ou Yihan staring down at her toes, thinking of the kiss that almost happened, steadied himself, and spoke calmly, “Yihan, go sit on the sofa outside, let me take this call first.”
The phone screen displayed Ranran’s name.
The sight of the name ‘Ranran’ brought Wen Jin back to reality.
He stared at the phone screen for a few seconds, and only when Ou Yihan stepped outside did he press the answer button, the sound from his lips as gentle and soft as usual, “Hello, Ranran.”
“Second Uncle, it’s me.”
The voice he heard wasn’t Wen Ran’s.
It was Ziyi’s childlike tone.
Wen Jin was slightly surprised and asked with concern, “Ziyi, why are you using your mom’s phone, what’s up so late at night, not asleep yet?”
Ziyi must go to sleep before nine o’clock every night.
Staying up so late and calling with Ranran’s phone made Wen Jin worry if something was wrong.
“Second Uncle, my dad is having an affair.”
Ziyi’s voice carried a bit of anger, still watching that childish softness but with a truly heavy sense of fury.
