In the hospital room, Luo Haofeng gently reassured Qiao Siyi, "I’ll be waiting for you outside the operating room, don’t be afraid."

Qiao Siyi smiled and nodded, "With you here, I’m not afraid."

She casually gave an excuse, to which Mother Bai patiently explained, "As your pregnancy progresses, the baby’s movements naturally decrease, not as active as in the earlier months."

Bai Xiaoxiao pretended not to understand, acting as if she just realized it.

Mother Bai smiled and said, "It’s normal that you didn’t know. Oh, your father’s birthday is next month. Do you want to call Luo Haofeng and invite him over for dinner?"

Bai Xiaoxiao was holding her milk to her lips, and upon hearing Mother Bai’s words, her action suddenly halted.

"Xiaoxiao, I’m not asking you to accept him right away, but you’ve been thinking for over three months. If you don’t try to face him, it’ll be even harder to move on."

"Mom, let’s talk about it when the time comes."

Bai Xiaoxiao forced a smile, but it was a very awkward one.

Mother Bai was just mentioning it, not asking Bai Xiaoxiao to call immediately. She said, "Alright, telling him the day before your father’s birthday is also fine."

Bai Xiaoxiao felt a wave of bitterness, Luo Haofeng wouldn’t come anymore.

She had heard that today was Qiao Siyi’s surgery day, Luo Haofeng was probably outside the operating room now.

When they reached the mall entrance, they saw a couple coming out from inside.

They were chatting and laughing, enveloped in a warm and happy atmosphere.

The pain made her face turn slightly pale.

"Xiaoxiao, what’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?"

Mother Bai’s voice and presence did not break Bai Xiaoxiao from her trance, as she returned with a worried expression.

Bai Xiaoxiao suppressed the pain in her heart, saying lightly, "No, I thought I saw someone I knew."

"Who?"

Mother Bai curiously looked outside.

Bai Xiaoxiao smiled again, "Maybe I mistook them. The woman’s back looked like a classmate of mine. Mom, let’s go inside."

The time spent shopping wasn’t long because the diapers had been ordered over the phone previously. After Mother Bai checked the quality, she had them sent to the car.

She and Xiaoxiao bought two more toys and picked out a few outfits, then asked Bai Xiaoxiao, "Xiaoxiao, do you want to buy a couple of outfits for yourself too?"

"No, I’ve already bought a lot."

Bai Xiaoxiao shook her head, when a crisp, cheerful voice called from behind, "Xiaoxiao."

She turned her head and saw a few steps away, Xiao Yuting’s mother, along with another lady of similar age, approaching.

Bai Xiaoxiao presented a polite smile, greeting Xiao Yuting’s mother.

Mother Bai also exchanged greetings with her.

"Xiaoxiao, it’s been a while, you’ve grown more noticeably, and you’re even prettier?"

Although the two families lived nearby, they didn’t meet daily.

Especially considering Xiao Yuting and Bai Xiaoxiao’s situation.

"By the way, Xiaoxiao, could you do me a favor?"

After some pleasantries, Mother Xiao gently asked while holding Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand.

"Auntie, what do you need help with?"
