Chapter 1783: 1782: Suspicion
Chapter 1783: Chapter 1782: Suspicion
In the afternoon, Luo Haofeng took his parents to the airport.
This time, they were really going on a trip.
He successfully stayed behind. Only after watching the plane take off did Luo Haofeng drive to find Mo Xiuchen.
“Xiuchen, why are you alone? Where’s Ranran?”
Mo Xiuchen was at Qin Mu’s house, so Luo Haofeng also went to Qin Mu’s house.
“Ranran went to see Aunt Qiao.”
Luo Haofeng’s expression slightly changed at the mention of Qiao Xiuyun.
Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, “Ah Feng, you should also go see Aunt Qiao.”
“Me? Won’t I just get kicked out?” Luo Haofeng laughed self-deprecatingly.
“Even if you get kicked out, at least you went.” Qin Mu, holding his daughter, came out of the bedroom and couldn’t help joking when he heard Mo Xiuchen and Luo Haofeng’s conversation.
Luo Haofeng rolled his eyes at him, reaching out to hold Qin Qingqing in his arms, “Ah Mu, let me hold Qingqing.”
“I heard that Ziyi, for Qingqing, went to earn money?”
“It’s not hearsay, it’s a fact.”
Qin Mu spoke proudly about this.
His daughter was so young, yet she already had someone who cared for and loved her.
As her father, he was naturally proud.
Luo Haofeng scoffed, “Ah Mu, look at you all smug. When I have a daughter, Ziyi will definitely change his mind.”
“Haha!”
Qin Mu laughed heartily, as if he had heard a great joke, and then said, “First, you need a girlfriend to have a daughter.”
“Ah Feng, what Ah Mu said is right, whether it’s Tian Ruoyi or Bai Xiaoxiao, you need to confirm your choice first.”
Mo Xiuchen casually threw out a sentence that was shocking enough to end the conversation.

Meanwhile, at the Bai Family’s place.
Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao were sitting with Qiao Xiuyun in the living room chatting, while Mr. Bai was busy in the kitchen, preparing a soup for her.
Qiao Xiuyun kept asking Bai Xiaoxiao if she was in contact with Luo Haofeng.
Bai Xiaoxiao vehemently denied it, so Qiao Xiuyun turned to Wen Ran and asked, “Ranran, I trust you. Tell me, is Xiaoxiao in contact with Luo Haofeng?”
Wen Ran’s eyes flickered and she smiled, “Aunt Qiao, don’t you believe Xiaoxiao? If she were really in touch with Luo Haofeng, would his mother have just let it go earlier?”
Qiao Xiuyun frowned, contemplating Wen Ran’s words.
That did make some sense, since Wu Jingfang opposed Xiaoxiao’s and Luo Haofeng as much as she did.
If they really were together or secretly involved, Wu Jingfang wouldn’t have agreed to come to G City.
Qiao Xiuyun glanced up at the clock on the wall and said to Bai Xiaoxiao, “Xiaoxiao, you should go visit Meng Ke at the hospital and bring him something to eat.”
Mr. Bai’s expression changed slightly, pursing his lips, sounding a bit stiff, “Mom, don’t you think it’s quite a coincidence that Meng Ke showed up there?”
“Xiaoxiao, what are you saying? Do you think there’s something wrong with Meng Ke?”
Qiao Xiuyun, without a second thought, defended her life-saving benefactor.
She didn’t believe Meng Ke could be a despicable person.
Bai Xiaoxiao knew she lacked evidence and that her mother would not believe her. But she didn’t want to be pushed towards Meng Ke again.
Taking a deep breath, she mustered her courage and said, “Mom, whether you believe it or not, I have to tell you something today.”
“What is it?”
Qiao Xiuyun looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with confusion.
Bai Xiaoxiao glanced at Wen Ran, silently asking if she should tell her mother.
Wen Ran smiled encouragingly at her; she always supported Xiaoxiao, especially when Mo Xiuchen and Gu Kai suspected that this matter might be related to Meng Ke.
She couldn’t just watch Xiaoxiao being forced back together with Meng Ke.
If she wants to speak, then she should just speak.
Understanding the encouragement in Wen Ran’s eyes, Bai Xiaoxiao felt warmth in her heart and had the courage to tell her mother the truth, “Mom, do you remember I mentioned the incident where the bodyguard Qing Yang from Xiaoxiao’s house got injured?”
Qiao Xiuyun was slightly taken aback and looked towards Wen Ran.
Wen Ran nodded, “Aunt Qiao, Qing Yang was indeed injured and quite seriously, remaining in a coma.”
“That was quite some time ago, right? What does it mean that he’s in a coma, that he’s still not woken up?”
Qiao Xiuyun looked at Wen Ran in shock.
She wasn’t familiar with Wen Ran’s bodyguard Qing Yang, but since he was from Wen Ran’s home, she naturally had to show some concern.
“Mom, Qing Yang was injured while on a business trip to Country M with Meng Ke.”
“Xiaoxiao, you’ve lost me. He’s Ranran’s bodyguard, so how did he end up going on a business trip with Meng Ke?”
Qiao Xiuyun was becoming more and more confused, really feeling like she was in a fog.
Wen Ran gently laughed, speaking warmly, “Aunt Qiao, let me explain it.”
“Sure, Xiaoxiao is all over the place. Ranran, what is going on?”
Wen Ran gathered her thoughts before slowly saying, “Around that time, Meng Ke was taking care of a woman named Xu Wanqi in the hospital. I’m not sure if Aunt Qiao has heard about Xu Wanqi?”
“I’ve heard of her, is she an employee at Meng Ke’s travel agency?”
Qiao Xiuyun asked, her brows slightly furrowing.
Wen Ran nodded, “Yes, she was an employee at Meng Ke’s travel agency. Meng Ke took care of her because one evening after they had dinner, on the way back, they encountered a robber, and Xu Wanqi took a stab for Meng Ke.”
“…”
Qiao Xiuyun just listened without commenting.
“Aunt Qiao, in fact, the incident with the robbers that night was a play that Xu Wanqi staged herself.”
Seeing Qiao Xiuyun’s shocked expression, Wen Ran smiled faintly, “Actually, this isn’t the important part. What’s important is that when Meng Ke went on a business trip, Xu Wanqi went with him, and at that time, she was no longer an employee of the travel agency.”
“Qing Yang happened to bump into them at the airport that morning and saw them acting intimately, so he informed Xiuchen.”
“…”
Qiao Xiuyun’s shock was gradually replaced by a tinge of displeasure.
Meng Ke and Xu Wanqi acting intimately?
If that’s true, then she wouldn’t oppose Xiaoxiao breaking up with him.
“So Xiuchen then had Qing Yang follow them to Country M. Originally, it was just to see if there was really anything unclear or entangled between Meng Ke and Xu Wanqi. But unexpectedly…”
At this point, Wen Ran paused.
She sighed softly.
Qiao Xiuyun, however, stared at her intently, wanting to know the outcome, and proactively asked, “Ranran, how did Qing Yang get injured?”
“Regarding that, we still don’t know the real reason because Qing Yang was shot and barely survived. It was one of Qin Mu’s friends who happened to stumble upon Qing Yang abroad and managed to save him.”
“Then, what about Meng Ke?”
Qiao Xiuyun hoped this matter had nothing to do with Meng Ke.
“This is also the aspect we’re puzzled by. We don’t know if Qing Yang’s injury, where he almost lost his life, is related to Meng Ke or not.”
