“Did you see Sister Wei today?”

Wen Ran leaned back into the rattan chair, lazily asking.

“No.”

Gu Kai got up late today, almost at noon, and went to the hospital after lunch, straight into the operating room, “Did she look for you?”

“Yes, she just called me, said that last night she was warned not to bother you anymore, she was even slapped.”

Clearing up misunderstandings is better than letting them grow deeper and more resentful.

Gu Kai first went to the ward to inquire about the patient’s condition.

Coming out of the ward, he stood in the corridor and called Fang Zhiwei.

“I have something urgent to attend to now; just organize these and leave them in my office.”

Gu Kai drove to the Fang Family, arriving over forty minutes later.

The nanny opened the door for him, then told him that Miss was resting in her room upstairs. Gu Kai frowned slightly, settled on the couch, and asked the nanny to call Fang Zhiwei down.

A few minutes later, Fang Zhiwei came downstairs in her pajamas.

Her hair draped over her shoulders and her unadorned face showed a tiredness tinged with a faint sadness, a look that involuntarily evoked compassion.

Gu Kai’s handsome brows furrowed slightly, his gaze settled on her cheek, the swelling had mostly subsided, but faint traces of having been hit were still visible.

Fang Zhiwei glanced at him, then lowered her head, slowly walked to the couch, and sat in the armchair beside him.

The silent living room, the air, became heavy.

Gu Kai pursed his lips, and spoke in as calm a tone as possible: “I came to explain something to you. What happened last night had nothing to do with Bai Yiyi.”

Fang Zhiwei suddenly looked up, her gaze sorrowful as she stared at him, her voice carrying a hint of heartbreaking misery, “Ah Kai, then tell me, who would use such a despicable method to warn me, they said, if I dare to see you again, they would ruin me.”
