Five Broken Beast Husbands, One Wicked Female with a Pocket Dimension
Chapter 142: Healed
Chapter 142: Chapter 142: Healed
Chu Moyuan spoke these words, reaching out to gently stroke Qiao Suluo’s hair. His eyes held deep, lingering affection, no longer suppressed or restrained.
His wife was so wonderful; she was the most precious treasure in his heart.
He was willing to live and die for her.
Hearing this, Qiao Suluo felt an inexplicable twinge of heartache.
Thinking of some memories about Chu Moyuan from her original body’s mind, Qiao Suluo couldn’t help but ache for him. "You’re too easily satisfied. Whatever you want to eat in the future, I’ll make it for you. Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you.
"I just want you to be happy."
Chu Moyuan smiled. "Why are you so good to me, wife?"
"You’re my Beast Husband. I like you, so naturally, I should treat you well."
Qiao Suluo felt that if she had feelings in her heart, she should say them out loud. Hiding them would only cause misunderstandings.
Like?
This was the first time someone had told him they liked him.
An indescribable feeling surged in Chu Moyuan’s chest.
His heart felt full to bursting.
His wife was truly too wonderful. Just looking at her every day gave him a profound sense of peace. He hadn’t even dared to imagine that his wife would care so much about his safety and his thoughts. These were things he had never dared to dream of before. It was as if the past wounds in his heart had finally healed.
When Que Hongjin and Bai Qianluo woke up early the next morning and learned that Chu Moyuan was awake, they breathed a sigh of relief.
While eating wontons for breakfast, they discussed their next steps.
Qiao Suluo planned to make a trip back to the village.
Her parents and brothers had sent a message earlier, saying that the village was rebuilding houses these days. She intended to hand over the pastry-making business to her parents and brothers, giving them a steady livelihood to rely on.
When Que Hongjin and the other two accompanied Qiao Suluo back to the village, they saw the villagers busy at work. Some were replanting crops, while others were rebuilding their homes.
Wooden houses were being erected in areas previously washed away by the flood, and the place was starting to look like a proper village again.
Qiao Suluo found the plot where her parents used to live. The house was almost fully rebuilt, though the perimeter wall was still unfinished. Her brothers were currently building it, and even Hao Hao was helping to move things.
He spotted Qiao Suluo first and called out excitedly, "Aunt Suluo!"
Qiao Suluo stepped forward and scooped him up into her arms, handing him some of the candies she had brought.
Hao Hao reached out and took them. "Thank you, Aunt Suluo." As he spoke, he gave her neck a tight hug.
Hearing the noise, Qiao Dalin and the others turned to look at Qiao Suluo.
"Suluo, you’re back!"
Seeing her return, they were very welcoming and warmly greeted Que Hongjin and the others. Que Hongjin and the husbands followed suit, addressing them as Dalin, Erlin, and Sanlin.
After a brief exchange, everyone put down their work and ushered Qiao Suluo and her husbands inside.
By now, even Qiao Sanlin’s attitude toward her had completely changed. His eyes were filled with joy when he looked at her, though he was still a little awkward.
Qiao Feishuang and Qiu Bin were equally delighted to see Qiao Suluo and the others. They hurriedly poured water to entertain their guests.
They chatted a bit about recent events in the village as Qiao Feishuang rambled on, sharing the details with Qiao Suluo.
"Seeing that there wouldn’t be any more floods, everyone came down from the mountain caves and started rebuilding their houses.
"Thanks to you teaching everyone how to identify a few new ingredients, they’re all very grateful to you now.
"They even frequently asked us when you’d be back. When it was time to build our house, the villagers helped us put it up first. I didn’t ask them to help with the wall, since your father and brothers can manage that themselves..."
Qiao Suluo knew that the villagers were gradually returning to their normal lives.
"Oh, right! The house you all live in was spontaneously rebuilt by the villagers," Qiao Feishuang added. "It’s in the exact same spot. You’ll see it when you go back and take a look."
Qiao Suluo was stunned. She hadn’t expected the villagers to do this for her before she even returned. She couldn’t help but marvel at the simple, honest nature of the people here.
After chatting for a while, Qiao Suluo said, "Erlin, let me take a look at your leg. I’ll heal your foot first."
Qiao Erlin had injured his leg in the past and walked with a limp. Because of this, he had always been scorned and criticized by others.
But now, her Wood Element Ability had grown stronger, and her Healing Ability had improved as well. Although she couldn’t use her superpower for the past few days due to utilizing a special Secret Technique, she found upon waking up today that her superpower had not only recovered but also significantly leveled up.
Therefore, she was fully capable of curing Qiao Erlin’s leg.
Qiao Erlin knew of his sister’s abilities, but he still didn’t dare to hope that his foot could truly be cured. "Suluo, is it really possible? I don’t want to cause you any trouble."
Qiao Suluo smiled. "Don’t worry, Erlin. I’m confident."
Only then did Qiao Erlin allow his sister to examine him.
Qiao Suluo checked Qiao Erlin’s leg thoroughly. Finding no major issues, she channeled her Wood Element Ability into his ankle.
A surge of green light flowed into his ankle, and Qiao Erlin could actually feel a warm, soothing energy taking effect.
After a long while, Qiao Suluo looked at him and said, "Erlin, try walking around a bit."
Qiao Erlin stepped onto the ground and walked around for a moment. To his astonishment, his foot was completely healed. It no longer hurt, and he no longer limped.
"This is amazing. It’s really healed!"
Qiao Sanlin stared intently at his brother’s foot, marveling that it was actually cured. His sister’s abilities were truly miraculous.
Qiao Dalin didn’t find it strange at all. After all, when he had been so terribly ill before, it was his sister who had saved him.
Qiao Feishuang’s eyes reddened as she said, "This is wonderful! Erlin’s leg is healed. Now we can arrange a good marriage for him, and others won’t look down on him anymore."
Everyone was unanimously overjoyed for Qiao Erlin.
Qiao Erlin excitedly walked around for quite a while. Once he was absolutely certain his foot was healed, his nose tingled with emotion. He hadn’t dared to dream of this before, yet now, it had actually come true.
Stepping up to Qiao Suluo, he prepared to kneel before her.
Fortunately, Qiao Suluo hastily stopped him. "Erlin, I’m your sister. Please don’t kneel. You’ll make me feel terrible."
Qiao Erlin looked a bit at a loss. "But I don’t know what else I can do for you, Suluo."
Qiao Suluo smiled. "As it happens, I have some work that I need your help with."
"Just say the word, Suluo. No matter what it is, I’ll do it."
Qiao Erlin’s attitude was exceptionally earnest. Qiao Dalin and Qiao Sanlin also nodded in agreement. Since their sister needed them, they naturally wouldn’t refuse.
Qiao Suluo explained.
"I’ve made a business deal with the Nanfeng Building to supply them with pastries. However, as you all know, I’m currently busy running my stall and dealing with other matters, so I can’t manage all of this on my own.
"Therefore, I was thinking of teaching you how to make pastries. Once you learn, you can set up your own stall in town and also supply the Nanfeng Building. They will pay a deposit in advance to order a specific quantity of pastries, and you just need to make them and deliver them every day..."
Qiao Suluo pondered this for a moment. She might not stay in Nanhe County forever, but her parents and brothers were here. Relying solely on farming would still leave them somewhat strapped for cash. It would be much better to teach them a useful skill so they could rely on this craft to make a comfortable living.
There were pastry shops in the county, but their flavors were average and they offered very little variety.
However, Qiao Suluo could teach her brothers to make pastries of all sorts of flavors and intricate designs, guaranteeing they would be absolutely delicious.
