Five Broken Beast Husbands, One Wicked Female with a Pocket Dimension
Chapter 140: Tugging at the Heartstrings
Chapter 140: Chapter 140: Tugging at the Heartstrings
Tushan Feishang seemed to be using her scent to determine whether she was injured. Only after confirming she was unharmed did his suspended heart finally settle, replaced by a profound sense of relief. He didn’t even understand what was happening to him. But by the time he came to his senses, his body had already reacted before his mind could process it.
"It’s not an illusion," Qiao Suluo blinked, hearing his voice.
Tushan Feishang reached out and tipped her chin up. His slender fingers gently stroked her lips, sending a numbing, electric thrill coursing through them. She felt that he was simply an enchanting demon, a master at tugging at heartstrings. Even his most casual movements could captivate someone to the point of losing all reason.
"What? Did my wife think it was a hallucination upon seeing me, or did my wife simply not want to see me?" he asked. The mere thought that she might not want to see him sent a surge of hostility welling up from the depths of his heart. His entire body clamored to take drastic action.
Listening to his ethereal, lazy tone, Qiao Suluo inexplicably felt that he was very dangerous at this moment. She couldn’t read his temper, but she wondered if something had gone wrong at the Nanfeng Building to make his Darkening Value increase. The thought immediately reminded her of her mission.
She hurriedly shook her head. "No, don’t misunderstand. I was attacked by an assassin the other day. Mo Yuan got hurt protecting me and still hasn’t woken up. I was worried something might happen to him, so I stayed home to watch over him. Once he wakes up and recovers, I can go to the Nanfeng Building and continue teaching everyone opera. Look, I even wrote other plays." Saying that, she handed the scripts on the table to him.
Hearing her explanation and seeing the stories she had written, Tushan Feishang understood. The hostility in his heart dissipated in an instant.
"An assassin? Who hurt you?" A surge of murderous intent welled up within him. How dare someone lay a hand on her? They were courting death.
"It was Qin Siyan," Qiao Suluo explained. "But she’s already dead, so everything is fine now."
"Is the corpse still around?" Tushan Feishang wanted to go and tear her into a million pieces.
Qiao Suluo shook her head. "No, it was burned to ashes in a fire." Que Hongjin had his men dispose of Qin Siyan’s body.
Tushan Feishang gently stroked her cheek. Then, he lowered his head and captured her lips.
The moment their lips touched, a jolt of electricity shot through Qiao Suluo’s body. A numbing sensation spread from her lips straight to the tip of her heart, and her mind went blank. Even though the kiss was light, it left her completely stunned. She had always thought Tushan Feishang despised her. Even if he didn’t hate her, she never imagined he would actually like her. Yet, he was kissing her right now. She widened her eyes in disbelief.
Whenever Tushan Feishang thought about her being assassinated and nearly killed while he wasn’t by her side, an indescribable sense of hollow loneliness swallowed his heart. It seemed this was the only way he could confirm she was standing before him completely unscathed, the only way to truly feel her breath and presence.
It was meant to be a fleeting kiss, but the moment they connected, he realized just how sweet she tasted. He knew then that he didn’t want to let her go. His alluring eyes darkened, gleaming with a captivating light that threatened to swallow her whole.
A moment later, Tushan Feishang’s lips descended once more, his breath much heavier than before. He held her tightly with one arm, trapping her in his embrace. The strength in his arm gradually increased, mirroring the deepening intensity of his kiss. Yet, he was incredibly patient as he swallowed all her breath, his cool lips coaxing her defenses open...
Qiao Suluo had already formed a Contract with Que Hongjin and the others, so she knew what she needed to know and had experienced kisses before. However, the feeling Tushan Feishang gave her was entirely different. He seemed exceptionally skilled at stirring her senses. His overwhelming presence carried a gentle, soothing touch, yet his offense was far from weak.
Her body trembled uncontrollably. Her toes curled, and her eyelashes fluttered frantically like the wings of a butterfly.
"Tu... Tushan Fei... shang..." Her muffled calls slipped through the gaps between their lips. Before she could say anything else, her breath was stolen away once again.
After an unknown amount of time, Tushan Feishang finally pulled back, his warm breath fanning across her neck. He held her close, suppressing his urges as he tried to calm his ragged breathing.
Sensing her reaction, he let out a soft, languid chuckle. "Does my wife like it when I treat you like this?" His voice carried an enchanting, lingering quality. It was lazy and charming, easily bewitching the mind and teasing the heart.
Qiao Suluo’s face was flushed completely red. With hazy, watery eyes, she stared at him. "You... you... How could you do that?" Her mind was entirely blank. Unable to process what had just happened, she didn’t know what to say.
The corners of Tushan Feishang’s eyes tipped upward, tinted with a faint, seductive blush. "You are my wife. Bringing pleasure to my wife is what a Beast Husband should do."
Hearing this, Qiao Suluo’s entire face burned fiercely. At a loss for words, she could only shoot him a glare. Little did she know that with her teary eyes and alluring expression, the glare looked more like a coquettish pout.
Tushan Feishang covered her eyes with his hand.
"Why are you covering my eyes?" Qiao Suluo reached up to pull his hand away, but it wouldn’t budge.
"If you can withstand everything that comes next right here, I can uncover your eyes." Her eyes were stunningly beautiful, especially when clouded with desire—vibrant and alluring. If he wanted to maintain his rationality, he couldn’t afford to look at them any longer.
Qiao Suluo didn’t dare move recklessly again. However, with her vision blocked, she could no longer see him, which gradually allowed her to calm down. "Didn’t you hate me?"
"I did hate you before. I hated the old you, but the current you is different."
Her heart fluttered at his words. Even though he didn’t know she had replaced the original owner of this body, he didn’t hate the current her.
"I just want you to never turn back into who you were," he murmured.
"I won’t. I’ll always be like this from now on."
Hearing this promise put his mind at ease. "You’re not allowed to get hurt anymore. If anything happens, come find me, or... I can go home with you right now."
Qiao Suluo froze for a second. "Ah, wouldn’t the South Wind Tower Master blame you? If you want to come home, I can scrape together some silver to redeem your freedom first. I can also negotiate with the South Wind Tower Master to let you go early. At worst, I’ll just write a few more plays to boost the Nanfeng Building’s business."
A faint smile curled the corners of Tushan Feishang’s lips as he listened to her. He thought she was a silly girl who still didn’t know the Nanfeng Building belonged to him. He knew it hadn’t been easy for her to make money running her street stall lately, and he couldn’t bear to make things harder for her.
"There’s no need. Just come find me at the Nanfeng Building if anything happens. Don’t let yourself get hurt." Otherwise, he didn’t know what he might do.
Qiao Suluo nodded, looking exceptionally obedient and well-behaved. Seeing her like this, Tushan Feishang felt his heart melt into a puddle of water.
At that moment, a rustling noise came from the bed. She turned her head, only to see Chu Moyuan waking up and sitting up.
Thrilled, Qiao Suluo rushed forward and threw her arms around him. "Mo Yuan, you’re awake! That’s wonderful!"
