Chapter 129: Chapter 129: His Ability

Qiao Suluo had been absent-mindedly worrying about the Qin Family’s affairs, specifically dreading Qin Siyan’s retaliation. Recently, while she was running her stall, Qin Siyan had deliberately sent people to cause trouble. Fortunately, with Bai Qianluo and Chu Moyuan protecting her, nothing serious happened. But Qin Siyan was maliciously scheming. Who knew what tricks she would pull next? It was better to prepare early.

So, upon suddenly hearing Tushan Feishang’s words, Qiao Suluo looked up at him. "Really? You can take me inside?" she asked, her eyes brightening and sparkling like a doe’s.

Seeing how she instantly perked up, Tushan Feishang’s lips curled into a charming smile. "Of course. It’s not difficult at all." He made it sound as if it were the easiest thing in the world.

"Are we going right now?" Qiao Suluo asked, still a bit dazed and struggling to process the sudden offer. It all felt too abrupt.

"Yes, right now.

"Or are you not in a hurry?"

He knew his wife clearly looked anxious; if he delayed, she would probably only grow more frantic. Since that was the case, they might as well go immediately.

Qiao Suluo nodded vigorously. "I am. I’m in a hurry." Pausing for a moment, she added gratefully, "Tushan Feishang, you’re too good to me."

She gazed at him with deep appreciation. Although he usually appeared alluring and lethargic, and sometimes even deliberately frightened her, he had never actually done her any harm. Ever since she started bringing him food every day, his attitude toward her had noticeably improved. Still, she hadn’t expected him to help her in her moment of desperate need.

Hearing her profound gratitude, Tushan Feishang looked down at her. He noticed that when she smiled, her elegant features became exceptionally beautiful and lively, radiant as a blooming camellia. He shook his head and chuckled softly, thinking she was truly easy to satisfy. The more they interacted, the stranger he felt. She seemed like a completely different person from before. He knew she had a secret, but since she didn’t volunteer it, he didn’t pry.

"Since you know how good I am, you’ll have to thank me properly later," he said.

Qiao Suluo readily agreed. "Sure! Just tell me what you want, and I’ll prepare it for you. Or if there’s anything you want to eat, I’ll cook it."

Tushan Feishang raised an eyebrow. "I haven’t decided yet. We’ll talk about it when I do."

Qiao Suluo didn’t dwell on the matter. Instead, she looked down at her clothes. "Can I go just like this? It wouldn’t be good if the Qin Family recognized me."

Tushan Feishang glanced at her. "Wait a moment." With that, he walked out of the room. A short while later, he returned with a veil hat. "Just wear this."

Looking at Tushan Feishang’s confident and composed demeanor, Qiao Suluo inexplicably felt that he was very reliable and trustworthy. She put on the hat. The fabric draped down long enough to reach below her knees, effectively concealing everything, including her figure.

"Do you think Young Master Qin will really do as I say?" she asked.

"Don’t worry," Tushan Feishang replied mildly. "Young Master Qin holds a grudge against Patriarch Qin, the current Qin Shoufu, and Qin Siyan. He will do it."

Hearing this, Qiao Suluo felt relieved. Just like that, Tushan Feishang led her directly to the Qin Family’s estate.

At the entrance, a guard opened his mouth to question them, but the moment his eyes met Tushan Feishang’s, his gaze lost focus.

"Take me to Young Master Qin’s room."

"Yes."

Although confused, Qiao Suluo didn’t ask any questions. Soon, the guard led them into Young Master Qin’s courtyard. They encountered several servants along the way, but they acted as if the intruders were invisible. Even the guards stationed outside Young Master Qin’s door stepped aside to let them pass.

Qiao Suluo had actually been terribly nervous the whole way, not daring to utter a single word, until Tushan Feishang finally brought her inside the room.

Young Master Qin’s room had its windows tightly shut, and the air was thick with the bitter stench of medicine. Qiao Suluo frowned as soon as she stepped inside. "The smell of medicine is too strong in here. Are they afraid Young Master Qin might actually be able to breathe?"

"Perhaps they never intended for him to live," Tushan Feishang said nonchalantly.

Qiao Suluo looked at him in surprise. "You know something?"

Tushan Feishang offered a mocking smile but didn’t elaborate. Instead, he looked at her and said, "Time is tight. You need to hurry.

"He is on the bed. He should be unconscious, which makes it easier for you to treat him."

"Alright," Qiao Suluo nodded. She quickly took off her veil hat and walked over to the bed. There lay an emaciated yet devastatingly beautiful Beastman, his long ink-black hair scattered across the sheets. His skin was unnaturally pale, almost translucent. As she leaned in, she could feel waves of freezing cold radiating from his body.

"Has his cold affliction already gotten this severe?"

Enduring the biting chill, Qiao Suluo stepped forward to check Qin Wushang’s pulse. She was startled to find that his life force was exceedingly weak. It looked like he was on the verge of death. No wonder the Qin Family hadn’t bothered to send a doctor to watch over him. Without a second thought, Qiao Suluo channeled her recently recovered Wood Element Ability into his body. Right before her eyes, the frost forming on his eyelashes began to melt, and the frigid aura enveloping him gradually dissipated.

Ever since his body started growing increasingly colder, Qin Wushang had felt as if he were trapped in a glacier. The freezing agony tormented his every bone and limb. In his delirium, he believed he was going to die. But just then, a warm power, much like sunlight, washed over him and flowed through his body. The icy sensation gradually retreated, taking the pain away with it. It felt as if he had returned to his childhood, enveloped in his father’s warm embrace when he was still alive.

In a daze, he followed a beam of light and saw his father standing ahead. "Dad, are you here to take me away?"

The gentle, beautiful man stopped and looked back at him. "Wushang," he said lovingly. "A wonderful female has come to save you. You must live on."

As the light faded, Qin Wushang’s eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes. When he did, a pair of beautiful peach-blossom eyes shimmered with a mesmerizing, deep radiance. They even carried a faint bluish-purple hue, captivating enough to draw in one’s very soul.

"Ah, you’re awake! That’s wonderful."

Seeing such a beautiful female before him, Qin Wushang froze. He glanced around and realized he was still in his own room. Suddenly, he noticed his body felt warm and light; the biting cold had completely vanished. A look of shock and disbelief crossed his face. "You saved me."

Qiao Suluo nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, yes, I saved you! Your cold affliction is gone. With proper rest and nourishment, your frail body will recover nicely.

"I sneaked in to treat you because I couldn’t bear to watch you die like this. But, in saving you, I also came to ask for a favor."

Qin Wushang quickly regained his composure. He glanced at the other male in the room, his peach-blossom eyes shifting subtly. "How may I help you, miss?"

Looking at his beautiful and gentle demeanor, Qiao Suluo wondered if he was actually very kind-hearted. Seeing her hesitation, Qin Wushang spoke softly. "You are my savior, miss. Whatever you need me to do, I will not refuse."

Qiao Suluo asked, "If I want you to become the Family Head of the Qin Family and help me deal with Qin Siyan, would you agree?"
