Su Yi began the conversation with the most ordinary of questions. “What’s your name?”

Naturally, he did so with his first incarnation’s heart devil’s voice and intonation.

The stick-thin figure at the bottom of the well froze, then practically wept for joy. That supreme being has finally remembered to ask for my name! What does that mean? It means he’s finally paying attention to me, and he’s finally looking directly at me! He isn’t simply disregarding me like before!

“Senior, my name is Shi Yin, the Inception of Obscurity. I was born of primordial chaos in the earliest days of the Eternal Heavens Domain’s Primordial Era, so you could call me a Chaos Fiend.

“I was somewhat famous at the time. My fellow Daoists called me ‘True Progenitor Shi Yin.’” Here, his tone shifted, suddenly humbler. “Of course, I dare not call myself anything of the sort in front of you, Senior. I’m but a prisoner in a well, a pitiful worm.

“Forgive my boldness, Senior, but have you decided to converse with me in order to learn the secrets of the Sea of Fate? If so, please rest assured. I’ll tell you everything I know!”

Su Yi sighed to himself. He didn’t even wait for me to ask. He’s far too understanding, and far too cooperative.

“I do indeed have questions for you,” said Su Yi. “Do you know of the Blood Lotus Forbidden Domain?”

A scene silently floated to the forefront of Su Yi’s sea of consciousness. Not long ago, on the Dragonbone Worldship, Heavenly Sovereign E showed him a vision of Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan in confinement.

The scene was indistinct, but it looked like he was in some kind of ruin covered in blooming, blood-red lotuses. Two figures were trapped in a giant lotus: Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan and, presumably, Fei Yunzi.

Su Yi predicted that the ruin he’d seen and the Blood Lotus Forbidden Zone were one and the same!

“The Blood Lotus Forbidden Domain?” The self-proclaimed True Progenitor Shi Yin said with bewilderment, “I won’t lie to you, Senior. I have no memory of such a place existing in the Sea of Fate...”

But then, something occurred to him. “Right, I do know about a place that grows Crimson Fate Lotuses. We called it the Crimson Fate Lotus Pond, and it's full of Past Karma source energies.”

“The Crimson Fate Lotus Pond?” Su Yi’s heart stirred. Its name must have changed during the countless years following the start of the Primordial Era. The Blood Lotus Forbidden Domain most likely is the Crimson Fate Lotus Pond!

Su Yi went on to ask more questions. True Progenitor Shi Yin was all too excited to answer them, as he saw it as an opportunity to demonstrate his worth. He really didn’t hold anything back, either.

Sometimes, Su Yi didn’t even need to ask. He considerately explained in detail before Su Yi could even formulate a question.

This actually saved Su Yi a lot of trouble, as he didn’t need to consider how to ask his questions without letting the cat out of the bag.

Fifteen minutes later, Su Yi had learned numerous secrets.

For instance, the Battle of Rulers fought in the early days of the Primordial Era’s history had taken place here in the Sea of Fate.

What surprised Su Yi most were the combatants. One side was the Primordial Divine Court led by Sovereign Venerate Yi. The other was the Chaos Fiends led by True Progenitor Shi Yin!

Su Yi knew nothing about the Battle of Rulers. Even so, these secrets astonished him and filled him with longing for more information.

A battle between Chaos Fiends and Heavenly Sovereigns raged for a full decade, making blood fall like rain. It was obvious how fierce the fighting had been.

It was also then that Su Yi finally understood. Strictly speaking, the Sea of Fate had been declared a forbidden zone way back in the early days of the Primordial Era. Countless Heavenly Sovereigns had been buried here, and countless broken Eternal Thrones and Sovereign-level treasures had been lost to the depths.

There was no telling how many Chaos Fiends had died here, too. There was a mountain of corpses hiding beneath the water’s surface!

The treasures that rose to the surface following Fate Tribulation Light had once belonged to experts of the early days of the Primordial Era. They’d been lost during the Battle of Rulers.

The hairpin, White Hair, the Heavenly Fate Elixir, and the dilapidated jade box were all naturally from that era, too.

True Progenitor Shi Yin also told him about the Laws of Lifelessness, the Compass of Fate, Sovereign Corpses, Fiend Remains, and other secrets.

But the Primordial Sword Devil proved his Dao in the middle of the Primordial Era, while Lu Shu proved his Dao near the Primordial Era’s end.

By combining their knowledge with the secrets True Progenitor Shi Yin had revealed, Su Yi gained a far clearer picture of the Primordial Era as a whole.

Su Yi also asked about the Aberrants.

Ancient Aberrant Xuan Ming had told him that their Twelve Progenitors were Chaos Fiends born of primordial chaos. Each had a physical body powerful enough that they could clash with Heavenly Sovereigns!

Su Yi even received an Aberrant Legacy from Xuan Ming, the Totems of the Twelve Progenitors.
