First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2669 - The Undying Shakes the Eternal

Chapter 2669 – The Undying Shakes the Eternal

It wasn’t just Xiao Jian. The vast majority of eyes were on Su Yi.

Everyone knew that Su Yi, the only Undying Realm expert here, would fight in the fifth match!

“Your Undying Realm cultivation base lets you suppress False Eternals with ease. Such heaven-defying strength is extraordinarily rare even on the River of Destiny,” said Huang Yanleng. “If you manage to kill an Unfettered Realm Eternal, I’ll have nothing else to say. I won’t pursue our earlier enmities any further, and I’ll even take it upon myself to apologize and compensate you.”

Yu Chiyang’s gaze was sinister. He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Su Yi, you’d better not die in this battle!”

The combatants in the fifth match included two experts of the Court of the Southern Heavens.

“I suspect that since you were bold enough to come here, you have reason to be confident. As your enemy, I hope your footsteps don’t end here,” Lu Shi said with a smile.

Di E’s gaze was cold and indifferent. He didn’t say a word.

The Dipankara Buddha sat there in meditation, unresponsive.

The others present looked excited, eager, or curious. All reacted differently.

None of them were stupid enough to think that Su Yi had come here simply to throw his life away, but they couldn’t imagine how a Master God like him hoped to survive against four Eternals at once.

Eternity was like a natural barrier. It had stood for countless years, and it seemed insurmountable. Numerous dazzlingly talented figures had attempted to overcome it, but all had failed.

This was an ironclad rule. None could break it!

Could Su Yi be the first?

No one could say he didn’t have any hope of success. After all, he controlled the power of reincarnation and carried the Epoch Spark. He’d reincarnated and cultivated many times over, and he’d accomplished numerous unbelievable feats in the God Domain. Everyone here understood that they couldn’t judge this Master God by his cultivation base.

Perhaps he really would become the first in history to overcome this seemingly insurmountable barrier, but… his odds of success were low!

Because the Battle for Order wasn’t a one-on-one duel. It was a chaotic battle with five participants in each match!

And even if they thought with their toes instead of their brains, everyone knew that Su Yi’s four opponents were sure to team up and target him first.

How could he possibly defeat four Eternals at once?

Su Yi disregarded the crowd’s conversations. He just put away his jug of wine and said, “Ten thousand years is too long to wait, so I’ll seize the day. I’ve been waiting for this… for a long time now.”

Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, the Five Elements Altar rumbled and boomed. Su Yi and his four Eternal opponents vanished into thin air.

A moment later, they appeared on the Five Elements Altar, each in a different region.

Su Yi stood in the area representing “earth.”

Earth was the source of all life. It sustained all beings and nourished all spirits. When Su Yi appeared, boundlessly dense earth elemental Dao Light enveloped him, lending him an air of majesty.

At the same time, Su Yi sensed the Five Elements Altar beneath his feet. It was covered in dense chaos source power, and it seemed utterly unshakeable.

And for good reason. No matter how fierce and destructive the battles that took place atop it, nothing could so much as scratch the Five Elements Altar.

The other four combatants, three men and one woman, appeared on the other “petals.” Two were Unfettered Realm Dao Lords, and two were old monsters’ clones.

Both of the Unfettered Realm Dao Lords were from the Court of the Southern Heavens. The first was a thin man in a feather coat and jade cap, and the second was an icy, full-figured mature beauty.

The man was called Song Jue, the woman, Ping Gu.

The other two combatants were old-timers’ Dao clones. One was a valiant-looking middle-aged man with tiger-like sideburns, the other, a promising looking youth in wide-sleeved, yellow robes.

Su Yi recognized the middle-aged man at a glance. It was his old acquaintance, Huo Yunhu!

He was from Limitless Palace, and he’d participated in the battle of the Borderless Mountains, except that then, he’d merely sent an avatar of will.

This time, he’d sent a clone.

But the one the crowd paid the most attention to was actually the seemingly youthful man in yellow.

Luo Baiting!

He was a Silent Realm sword cultivator from the Eternal Heavens Domain, an unparalleled figure famed for his prowess in the Dao of the Sword.

More importantly, he was once one of Jiang Wuchen’s ten great generals. They called him the Jade Tree Sword Master.

And Jiang Wuchen was Su Yi’s second incarnation!

But every old-timer present knew that Luo Baiting now served the Malevolent Sword Venerate.

The battle had yet to begin when Luo Baiting suddenly spoke. “My name is Luo Baiting, and I serve my master, Jiang Wuchen. You’re sure to die here today!”

Even his voice clanged like a sword leaving the sheath, bursting with shocking murderous intent.

Su Yi glanced at him. “Speak clearly. Do you serve Jiang Wuchen, or do you serve the Malevolent Sword Venerate?”

Luo Baiting said calmly, “Once I kill you, Master will recover the power of his true body, and no one in the Eternal Heavens Domain will dare to call him ‘the Malevolent Sword Venerate’ ever again.”

Su Yi smiled. “If I were Jiang Wuchen, I might well spare your life, but… right now, I’m not.”

Boom!

Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, Song Jue and Ping Gu of the Court of the Southern Heavens attacked without another word.

Song Jue’s tall, thin frame suddenly manifested a thousand-foot-tall avatar of the Grand Dao. It held the sun in one hand, and it rode upon a lightning serpent.

As his right hand formed a seal, the enormous avatar instantly came to life. It roared, then raised the sun into the air and swung ruthlessly at Su Yi.

Like the ruler of heaven presiding over the cycle of the sun!

This was a supreme legacy of the Court of the Southern Heavens, and it was mighty beyond measure. When it landed, it didn’t just shatter opponents’ bodies and powers of the Grand Dao. It could suppress their hearts and souls, too.

Meanwhile, the full-figured beauty, Ping Gu, stretched out and tapped the air. Thirty-three streaks of divine radiance shot into the firmament, each transforming into a primordial divine mountain shrouded in the power of the Laws before crashing down like an avalanche.

The Thirty-Three Mountains!

This, too, was a divine ability, and an endlessly tyrannical one at that. Each mountain could shake others of the same level of cultivation, and when thirty-three descended at once, their power overlapped, surging like the rising tide.

This was a true hidden card, a killer weapon!

The two Unfettered Realm Dao Lords of the Court of the Southern Heavens attacked without the slightest reservation, striking to kill right off the bat.

The sight made countless onlookers’ eyelids twitch. All of them held their breath and watched Su Yi intently. How will he respond to this pincer attack?

They had only just thought this when Su Yi’s sleeves billowed and he slashed with his right hand, as if unsheathing a sword.

In that moment, Su Yi’s presence suddenly transformed!

Earlier, he’d seemed utterly unassuming, as plain as a rock lying by the side of the road. He seemed like an ordinary mortal.

No one could see through him.

But now, he was like a dragon emerging from the abyss. His tall, upright figure erupted with terrifying tyrannical sword force, scattering the five-colored auspicious clouds overhead.

His sword intent was like an abyss, his sword force a prison!

The change was so stark that countless onlookers’ pupils constricted. It was as if a blazing sun had appeared suddenly amidst the pitch-black darkness; they didn’t know what was going on, just that their eyes stung.

Boom!!

Only a handful of people remained unaffected. This handful saw Su Yi’s changes clearly, and they watched as his right hand shot out of his sleeve and struck the air, like a sword leaving its sheath.

The blazing sun the giant avatar was swinging shattered like a mirror, splitting into pieces.

Where the sword qi pointed, it bore a hole through that enormous avatar. Countless rifts spread from the hole, extending outward. In the end, the enormous avatar crumbled like a clay temple statue.

Song Jue coughed up blood, his expression filling with horror.

Meanwhile, Su Yi’s right hand turned, the flourish of a brush, and struck the sky.

The first of the descending mountains split down the midline, sliced open like tofu. The surface of the cut was perfectly smooth.

Another mountain followed the first, then another, but the sword qi continued, its power undiminished. Soon, it had cleaved through all thirty-three of them, and it left a deep cut in the five-colored auspicious clouds gathered beneath the firmament.

The cut extended for three hundred thousand feet, and the sword force did not dissipate!

The full-figured beauty, Ping Gu, quivered from head to toe as if struck by lightning, then coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Her beautiful face was instantly deathly pale. Astonishment and disbelief were written all over her face.

In just two almost simultaneous strikes, one vertical, one horizontal, he’d cleaved through Song Jue’s avatar and her thirty-three mountains!

Song Jue and Ping Gu were both Unfettered Realm Dao Lords here in the flesh. Now, both were injured, and both coughed up blood!

It all happened in a flash.

The distant Luo Baiting was gathering sword intent. He took a step forward as if to strike.

Huo Yunhu shifted through the sky, blue lightning rising in front of him, but he didn’t get the chance to intervene.

Outside the arena, the onlookers were still speculating on how great a price Su Yi would have to pay to withstand the two Unfettered Realm experts’ full-force attack when this happened.

Too quick!

It struck with unstoppable force. Nothing could stand in its way!

Misty light permeated the air, and a flood of destructive power swept across the Five Elements Altar.

When the crowd finally came to their senses, their expressions shifted.

Su Yi’s two strikes had shattered their expectations and exceeded the bounds of their imaginations.

Almost no one had thought that Su Yi could shake the “insurmountable barrier” of Eternity in a five-person duel.

When they saw Song Jue and Ping Gu strike to kill, everyone assumed that Su Yi would either retreat or pay a grievous price to block.

They’d also been certain that even if Su Yi somehow managed to survive, Luo Baiting and Huo Yunhu would seize the opportunity to attack, plunging him into inescapable peril.

But Su Yi’s two strikes had shattered all such notions and overturned their perception of reality!

Su Yi hadn’t retreated, nor did he pay any sort of price, nor was he plunged into escapable peril. On the contrary, in just two strikes, he broke his opponents’ killer moves and injured them.

The Undying had shaken the Eternal!
